I think you’re the one who’s missing the point. “Ganking” is just PvP, an integral part to the game. Being hard-pressed and alert for danger, equipping your ship for it and deciding when and where you’re going to do something is the game. Wrong decisions have consequences, mistakes have consequences, those consequences are what you signed up for, they even tell you in the prologue - I don’t dare call that a tutorial.
The risks of getting your ship blown up while you try to conduct your diverse operations, be it mining, missioning, ratting… are integral to the game. It’s a sandbox where a player can destroy your ship, how are you going to “tone” that down?
You can offer isk for a ganker not to blow up your ship and again, it’s up to him to accept, not to CCP to force him to.
your greed to gank and not care about the health of this MMO is the reason that CCP needs to intervene and make it harder because there is no self control for some players.
You can enforce the self-control then. Join the AG and start teaching them gankers some manners. Of course, you don’t know how to fight so you’re going to need a good toolset of harsh words that you can spew in local… that’ll teach them.
self-control is something you learn from real life
No, Abigail, you’re not quite right there. An MMO player may well be concerned about the dearth of chums in a game, but the responsibility for addressing that concern is and remains that of the Designer/Publisher.
If in-game activities do threaten that delicate balancing act I mentioned, then the Company will seek a solution which restores the equilibrium.
As far as ganking is concerned, the solution cannot be ‘gankers shouldn’t gank’; can you appreciate how weak and prissy that sounds?
If ganking is a problem, it is not a player problem, but a commercial one. As such, it falls within the purview of CCP, not Abigail Rocker Ronuken.

I don’t think i said they shouldn’t gank I said they to tone it down basically do less ganking.

Really? Tell me more…
Why would someone biomass their character if they tank their faction standing?
It’s not like it’s that hard to fix it.
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Scipio has clearly demonstrated that. Pulling a representative sample of n=1,100 ganker characters, to which only 3 biomassed,
As opposed to your “I know a guy who told me…”
Keep going. It fun to see you annihilate your creditably. How far can it possibly tank?

but is mine and yours, and CCP’s problem. as i said before MMO thrive on more rather than less players. so for you and me the problem is less content no matter which part of the game your dabbling in, and for CCP it is less potential revenue. so yes it is a problem for all involved with the game.
are you ok, your post reads like you need medical help…
Ah yes, ad hominem.
Keep going.
good i was worried about you.

The logical outcome of your ‘do less ganking’ suggestion is, unfortunately, problematic. If, as a consequence of less ganking, the loss of ships and modules in Highsec takes a tumble, where are the industrialists and allied professionals to make up their losses?
The other issue lies with gankers themselves. Those who gank for profit (or break-even) will, if forced to scale down their activities, not be able to afford to continue, leading again to stagnation in the market.
Princess Aiko has pointed out to sobering effect the potential harm of such an occurrence.
‘tone it down basically do less ganking’ will not, I fear, cut it.
@Abigail_Rocker_Ronuken , do continue to worry about player numbers. For my part, I shall ignore them.
I think that sums it up!
My take from that comment is that you don’t care if the game goes under or flourishes for 10 more years
It’s a bad take, because you’re the only one with the belief that “more ganking => less players”.
its logical
ppl that get ganked (not all) feel a loss (Loesses usually feel bad and the bigger the loss to them the worst)
that will drive a lot (not all) players away from the game
i guess a fix would be 100% no drop and everything is returned to the player in a station ship included.
but that would make ganking pointless.

you don’t care if the game goes under or flourishes for 10 more years
You’re spot-on, Abigail.
The reason is that I am a contented person, with or without EVE Online.
I enjoy playing the game, but I am not umbilically tethered to it.
i enjoy the game too, but I would like to keep enjoying it 10 years from now.

have you ever been ripped off by a person or company, does that make you want to deal with that person or company afterward
Let me guess. You got ripped off by the goons then tried to join them as thought they were something awful?
