What are you training once the mining skills are done?
I find it best to train all sorts of skills so you diversify the activities you can take part in in this game. While my mining character has all relevant mining skills trained my other characters can fly pretty much all other ships in the game.
A miner should be able to clear some NPC pirates in a valuable mining anomaly after all, so those combat skills on a character will be beneficial even if you only mine.
I run a tanked orca and tanked skiff. I have never been ganked at least not that I can remember. Even my porp/procs didn’t get ganked. I also know some1 that flies 10 accounts (Fking disgusting) She tanks all of her skiffs/orca and doesn’t get ganked.
A lot of gankers are trash at pvp and pad the kill board. Hulks/Macs + fit cost what 350kk+?
Run a tanked skiff and orca and you will be 100% safe from suicide gankers in HS.
Yep. The roving ganks consist of only a few destroyers. That’s only enough to take down a yield fit Retriever or Mackinaw or Covetor or Hulk.
Those barges and exhumers can’t really be tanked. But they can be protected if you have a willing Orca pilot on hand. A couple heavy shield drones and a remote shield booster can protect one ship at a time.
Train your shield, armor, and engineering skills to max. Run a duo of Orca and Hulk.
If you train up your capacitor skills high enough, you can afford to run a Large Remote Shield Booster II to protect the Hulk if trouble comes along. Be sure to have two Heavy Shield Maintenance Bot II drones also. That way, you can fit the Hulk for maximum yield. You won’t have to sacrifice any ISK. The Orca does all of the protecting with the remote booster, drones, and command boosts. I recommend 1 shield extension, mining yield, and mining range command boosts.
You run a heavily tanked, worse yield mining exhumer/barge to be “safe” in HS, earning peanuts for your time & investment. Why?
With multi mining accounts, you should be in a NS corp making bank. And you only have to show up once a week for an hr or two in a fleet with combat ships that any decent NS corp will give you for free or pay back your costs.
HS Ganking is repetitive
Gate Camping is repetitive
Hunting and blops is repetitive
roaming is repetitive and more than half time is boring and fruitless
continuous structure bashing is repetitive
forming umbrella defense fleets and sitting all day is repetitive
creating and putting out propaganda is repetitive
maintaining political structuring and control is repetitive
hauling ships, materials, fuel etc to maintain the organization is repetitive
anchoring thousands of astrahus over night is repetitive(an action that CCP created upwell cores for)
Do i need to go on???
Both of you are dumb, PvP is repetitive…and any so called PvE is there to only fuel Imperialistic PvP…
Mining for resources to feed the PvP machine…to make sure someone else dont get it before you do…is PvP in itself…and repetitive.
Planetary Interaction is repetitive and only there to fuel Upwell constructions, T2 manufacturing and the like…for PVP and so is PVP!!!
Market trading is PVP…and so fudging repetitive.
… @Andlaust you specifically…
trap or not trap…
target is found
target is engaged
counter cyno lit
reinforcements arrive
counter-counter cyno is lit
larger ships arrive
counter-counter-counter cyno lit
even larger ships arrive
battle goes from a few million to a trillion ISK within minutes…
EVERY TIME THIS IS THE SCRIPT
the script is slightly tweaked for HS battles and depends on if its a gank, bait, or wardec…but its the same.
Ive seen structures get hit. Looked pretty identical to me. 4 Kronos ships enter grid, lock on, fire until reinforced, leave, return 5 days later, lock, fire, boom, leave.
I’ve seen mining barges ganked. Looked pretty identical to me. Warp in, bump, fleet follows, lock, fire preheated weapons, boom, get blown up by Concord, lure Concord to a new grid, warp in, bump, fleet follows, lock, fire preheated weapons, boom, get blown up by Concord,
Cool, if it’s so fu¢king repetitive, quit playing already. If you’re so fu¢king sick of it, go fu¢king play something else.
Either way, no one cares how much you hate Eve. Do you really think we give a sh!t about the opinion of some fool who voluntarily continues to go someplace they hate, and does nothing but sh!t all over the forums of a game people actually like?
No. One. Gives. A. Single. Flying. Fu¢k. About. You.
Player owned does not automatically equate to PvP. I don’t consider MTU bashing to be PvP either, and see no difference between them beyond the time involved in each. PvP requires player agency on both sides, thus why I consider highsec miners to be less advanced NPCs. NPCs at least move around, miners just sit there and burn.
Yes, several.
Damsel for one, you have to pop the structure she’s in to get her. There’s another drone mission where you shoot the structure and it spawn waves of drones to attack you. Is it Extravaganza that has the locked bonus room with the tower you need to shoot?
Those are just the L4s that immediately come to mind. I know there are more, but they’re not worth looking up. There are many missions that involve, “shoot this structure and bring me the loot” There’s also several DED complexes that require you to shoot a structure.
This just shows your ignorance. Some of the gank strategies sure are repetitve. Namely station camping or gate ganking.
But that is not all there is.
And while some of the other types of ganking are partially repetitive for example hunting abyssal runners, it is the players you are trying to hunt and their contermeasures what makes it interesting, exciting and different almost every time.
The other thread shows it well. PVE player don’t even know why or what would they use dscan for. I use it more in highsec than I use it in lowsec.
How come that some miners never get ganked? Informational awareness is key in this game. Get yourself information sources and know where not to mine. Should be easy for you. After 10 years of playing one would think you heard of zkillboard and the likes.
