Give Boosters Credit!

I cannot imagine how putting logi and boosts who have not shot anyone on a killmail would introduce abusable gameplay quirks. You maybe get hundreds of logi on a killmail that repaired someone who shot that target, but what are the abusable gameplay implications of that?

Granted, with CCP’s coding quality, especially in the age of vibe coding, it is not beyond imagination that they screw something up in the code. For instance, create an infinity loop that kills every target instantly that is being shot be a remote-repaired ship.

Then we do things they couldn’t have possibly anticipated, like hyper dunking…

The death of zkillboard would be a massively positive improvement for EVE.

Then other killboards would emerge. Before Zkill, we had EVE-kill.net and tons of individual corp and alliance killboards.

Which had better functionality like easy to setup military campaigns for easy tracking of kills/losses in a given environment/setting.

Yank the ESI data, problem solved. Killboards are one reason this game went downhill…

Zkill has its uses. For example, it gives you the days of the week, hours of operation, and working area of every ganker group in the game…

That is already a non-issue. I do not have the API of any of my chars on that site and decide myself what I post (as long as the target does not auto-post their/my kills/losses).

Yeah, and players were so anal retentive about their K/D (ISK) ratio that they stopped engaging in combat outside of blobbing.

I don’t like the idea for Fleet Boosts, reasons given above. Public mining fleets or ratting fleets would get killed by intentionally sneaking in a char that then attacks someone once the Command Bursts are running.

However, I’d like to see a ‘suspect timer’ for direct remote assistance if the effect of said assistance is active during any criminal/suspect action. For example remote sensor boosting or remote tracking assistance. To prevent abuse/tricking other players, any direct remote assistance should always require a safety setting that is equal or lower than that of the assisted ship, so if you set your safety green, nobody can ‘make’ you suspect or criminal intentionally or accidentally.

They would have to fundamentally change how boosts work, because even with non-combat boosts such as mining you still get a weapons timer and can’t dock up or use gates, even on green safety.

Don’t care.

I’d be down for this if they would add weapons to an Orca. Add three more High slots and make 4 of them large weapon slots with a 99% CPU reduction for CPU requirements to fit such weapons (like how it is for the Deluge and Avalanche)

But in all seriousness, as long as the mining ship does not foght back, the Orca would not become suspect. Boosts would be safe. Even shoeld boosts- at least that’s how I read the OP.

Remote shield boosting sucks anyway. It really does. An Orca does its own shield boosting way better than it does remote shield. It has such a high buff to that!

The idea is that the mining ship does fight back.

Step 1: fly a Venture on a new inconspicuous alt
Step 2: fly up to an Orca and chat
Step 3: get invited and rejoice because of the boosts you get
Step 4: illegally attack another mining ship in the belt with your drones
Step 5: watch as CONCORD blows up your Venture
Step 6: watch as CONCORD also blows up the Orca, because of the changes proposed in this thread
Step 7: loot the Orca wreck

The outcome is that nobody invites other players in their fleet boosting fleets anymore in HS unless they 100% trust that person.

Not a good idea, to be honest.

You know this is what i meant.. I honestly was thinking of the whole combat boost or remote assist stuff. Honestly was more of a poke at how many high side gankers sit there and have someone boost them so they can just gank someone at jita or a gate.
