Give Boosters Credit!

Unpopular Opinion I am sure..

So why not make it so those who are boosting someone giving them faster targetting/shields/armor/etc or whatever actually get credit for the kill and also become criminal if the person becomes criminal.

I know people probably cry.. but realistically… You are assisting a criminal or person to kill something why shouldn’t you get credit? You arent innocent you are boosting someone you are assisting and an accessory to their actions. Becareful who you boost

Is this a zkillboard thing?

No, I mean in general. I’ve seen plenty of gankers not get any credit for being boosted and the booster doesnt get flagged or anything against them which seems unfair and not right on two fronts..

1 - the player gets no credit..
2 - the player gets no repercussions for their actions

I could get so many boosting Orcas killed that way. You people really don’t think of the consequences of what you are wanting…

You’re deviously twisted @QuakeGod !

Well… Then you might need to be careful who you boost now don’t you? I mean I could say "if you use non combat beneficial boosters.. (Mining) then you get no consequences cause it does not support your actions as a combat but same time. then high sec gankers would cry that its unfair they cant boost their typhoons at Jita..

Any type of boost gives the booster an aggression timer, even mining boosts…

That would effectively put an end to public boosted mining fleets because any random asshole, like myself, could get your Orca nuked.

I dont hate it but same time the way it is done is scammy. boosters get away scot free for assisting. If in same party you can loot the victim with no consequence. but thats a different issue

Whenever you have ANY idea for EVE, the very first thought that should come to your mind is, how can this be exploited. And I guarantee that 99% of the time you will come up with an exploit in less than a minute. I already knew just by reading the title of this thread…

This is why we can’t have nice things.

That’s the way it is. That’s why most ideas get shot down in the first 2 or 3 posts because we’ve been playing for decades and know exactly what’s going to happen and who is going to do it…

If there is even a remote possibility that it can be exploited, EVE players are going to do exactly that. Your idea has to be bulletproof. Even the developers can’t pull that off sometimes.

CCP has promised for ages that they would add logi and other non-combat support to killmails.

If it was easy to implement and couldn’t be exploited, they would have already done so…
