There is a need for regulating industry so the end product will be healthy. With ban on import of food produced with lower standards. That means of course more people needed for producing it, farmers, and higher costs of food. But people dont need new iphone every year.
We got to this point because of regulation. The only reason people even know about the serious negative effects of sugar is because of the internet which is largely unregulated. The traditional media was captured via regulation a long time ago and the internet is slowly getting captured too. if you are one of the few people who manged to discover the truth about sugar i salute you. Have a nice day.
We got to this point because of greed, not regulations. If people would be less greedy, they would make laws that are prohibiting unhealthy practices in food production. USA needs laws that are more human oriented, not money making oriented.
Alright. SO. Your question of: âWhy is nobody talking about this?â That can be answered in a very quick way: No one is talking about this because our government is corrupt enough to allow âquick passesâ aka âapprovalsâ of items that are absolutely shâ t for humans. Diabetes, etc is a MAJOR MONEYMAKER in the USA. Watch tv. Every other commercial is a type of PILL you can take to âstabilize your sugarsâ or help your HBA1C numbers improve blah blah blah. You want to know what improves it as well? Kratom. A natural plant from Thailand. Most people in Thailand are skinny as heck, and yet⌠diabetes doesnât really go on over there much, from what Iâve read. Want to know why the government tried to schedule 1 Kratom as if itâs as bad as Heroin, Meth, and other drugs? Thereâs your answer. BIG PHARMA has bought and paid off most politicians in the United States government and probably most other governments as well. How is it a public figure, a âRepresentative of the peopleâ can work a job 6 months out of the year, making around 100k a year, and become a millionaire? Well, gosh. It beats me. (No it doesnât) However, I only can stand to look into USA stuff, because looking at more makes me entirely too angry to stand it.
Recently, the FDA just released a statement saying that a diet of 90% processed foods is, and should be considered a âHealthy Dietâ. Meaning, you can now go to Walmart or your local grocery chain, and purchase 90% boxed foods, canned foods, etc⌠Highly processed stuff⌠because the FDA said it was ok to do it. Are you F*â â ing kidding me!? This is skewed to allow them to continue to work in this way⌠paid for by the very corporations making us sick. With politicians getting âlobbying moneyâ to turn the other cheek and ignore the real problems! This cannot stand. It simply cannot.
Recently, a show called âLast week tonight with John Oliverâ did a show about the supreme court. He talked about how the members of the supreme court can be legally bribed, and itâs sick. Crazy thing is, ITâS NO JOKE. Back to Big Pharma: I used to think this was BS myself, then I looked into it, and low and behold, itâs all true. The numbers might be slightly off, but not by very much. It makes me sick. I honestly couldnât believe what I was seeing/reading! The link below you can go to a site that shows you the amount of money BIG PHARMA spends on lobbying our government. OK: first, lobbying is simply money donated to âpush or assistâ the politician/legislature/government official to choose/make/write laws that benefit BIG PHARMA⌠sigh do you see where Iâm going with this? I hope so. LOBBYING = LEGAL BRIBERY⌠just not according to the laws or the people writing them. It is absolutely insane!! Anyway, I have included a link below, and you can see for yourself how much has been spent, how much money has âpoofed into thin airâ just to make laws happen, or not happen. It is really astounding.
The website is www.opensecrets.org, a site that follows and tracks money spent to lobby government. Link below:

So, what Iâm getting at, is this is all wrong. In the Bible, it says the love of money is the root of all evil. I donât really care what you feel about the Bible or not, itâs one of the only books still used today by a large population of people that has stood the test of time, and most of what it has to say is considered a right way, a truth-seeking and helpful viewpoint, as a guidebook, of sorts. Thatâs what I believe anyway. Itâs the same with all things⌠you can love your money, but love it too much and you will suffer. You can love people, but love too much and they can suffer! Too much of anything can most definitely be a BAD THING! Hell, even too much water can kill you, and water is one of the most important things human beings need to survive!
The world CAN and IS headed for hell in a handbasket on itâs current path. To answer your question about why no one is talking about this? Their love of $$$/money. Period. Main stream media donât talk because they are paid by corporations that want you to love and fear what they want you to love and fear. Itâs that simple. It is most definitely a method to control the populations of the world. There is one report about insurance companies and how they are predicting diabetes cases rising and as with everything else, getting more and more costly⌠They predict things with large numbers this way to make decisions, ha ha ha⌠Jokeâs aside⌠they do so to find ways to profit the most, and to foresee how they can make massive profits more and more as time goes on⌠because if we stay the path of eating the way we are⌠itâs very likely we are diabetic at some point! Itâs happening quicker and more now than ever before. Why? Dear God here we go: THEIR LOVE OF MONEY. There is no denying that. Some fall for that crap, most probably. But I hope and pray that others do not. Pay attention, open your eyes (all 3 of them) if we all wake up to this, by shining our âspot-light of consciousnessâ upon this subject, itâs my belief that we can turn things around toward a healthy, more prosperous future. Right now, itâs looking pretty grim.
Take care everyone! Stay safe, be well.
Sure, itâs your body and health, you are allowed to make moronic decisions as long as you donât harm others with them
The farmer next door these days is probably not ânext doorâ at all. There are few remaining farmers who are not in hock either to the supermarket produce buyers or their suppliers/distributors.
In addition, they are as interested in making coin as the rest of us. Therefore, they chlorinate their chicken, pump their cattle full of steroids and antibiotics and do other stuff calculated to make their goods attractive and attractively priced. Itâs a symbiotic relationship, in which the poor consumer stands little chance of getting a fair deal.
My maternal grandparents were farmers. If youâd asked them for health advice, theyâd probably have told you to eat meat, vegetables, fruit (if you could get it) and puddings with custard; and to be sure to include in your diet milk, butter, eggs and cheese. Plus home-made gingerbread.
You may ask scientists for health advice, but be prepared for confusing responses, for these professionals do not always agree. Like eating chocolate Brazil nuts, you may have to try 3 or 4 (or 20) before becoming confirmed in your opinion of their quality.
The internet can be useful, but if youâre not very good at sifting conflicting information, youâll come a right cropper (as I think they say in London).
EVE-O Forums are probably the least reliable source of health-critical information.
Because the particular section of the biology textbook we were focusing on during grade school didnât cover the glycogenic cycle.
With less subtext, because itâs boring.
And if you want to something morally hazardous and sustainably profitable, you make it boring.
Are we cool yet?
Iâm not sure if youâre looking at the numbers, I said in the UK health services spend ÂŁ6.5 billion a year treating sugar related illnesses, Iâd Imagine that is a lot of people, a good few million. Information spreads via the the sheer volume of people suffering from these illnesses. I know a few people with diabetes. Iâm pretty sure everyone in the UK has a relative or friend suffering from it, you give the internet a little too much credit.
Health is a tricky subject, I try to keep it simple and ask questions like âwhat raw nutrient does my stomach need?â Then we get to understand things like fermented food, pro-biotics, good stomach bacteria, and pre-biotics.
We also get to understand sleep and exercise play an important part, sleep is where the body regenerates and repairs cells, so if you arenât getting good nourishing rem sleep then we might not be regenerating our cells as well as we think. Health does take some looking into it really isnât as simple as taking what the doctor perscribes once you get ill.
I donât consider any thread in this forum a reliable source of information⌠I canât believe I have to write that, lol.
I wouldnât ask these people for a peanut.
I know what my body needs and reacts to. I live in it, I love biology and learning what makes my body tick. I have no problem with science, I have a problem with those who have hijacked it.
And yet, here I am, at (insert number between 60 and 70) years of age, having always followed the advice of the few General Practitioners whose services Iâve sought. I have neither consumed raw plants (bar very small salads) nor smoked them (after an unwise social experiment at the age of 17 resulted in the loss of 3 whole days for whose content I was subsequently unable to account).
Medicine - for GPs - is as much art as science, and relies heavily upon knowing or being able to perceive certain aspects of human nature. Thereâs little time for that, these days, alas. Some patients are âŚdifficult, too.
I donât believe in luck - good or bad. Stuff just happens. When you have seen (as I have seen) âperfectly healthyâ individuals, who always ate the right things, never smoked or drank, exercised twice a day (and 3 times on Sundays ) being trundled across the p.m. room just like all the others, you do sometimes wonder what itâs all about.
Good luck, Aaron with your research and your self-medicating. I genuinely hope it brings you fulfilment. I am, Iâm afraid, a very lost cause!
Great!
Iâm not a doctor, Yuzima, but I spent many years learning what makes bodies stop ticking. Ignorance and stupidity were right up there with the medical conditions of various sorts.
Most Doctors do not set out to kill you (Harold Shipman was âŚdisturbed). But I applaud your claim, and that of Aaron, that you are taking some responsibility for the homeostatic condition of the bag of water you currently inhabit. May it bring you joy!
I find a lot of people attitude toward this strange, even yourself with the terms you use.
The dental industry uses cloves extensively, they extract Eugenol from it to numb the gums of all patients while they perform various procedures.
My point is, why are scientists appluded and pat on the back for finding the Eugenol within cloves and using it, But then when I acknowledge Cloves and notice the other properties it has like anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial and use them for cleaning my mouth and relieving stomach problems I am told I am crazy and mad and a conspiracy theorist?
Can you not see Iâm self-nourishing? since cloves is a spice many people use in food already?
Iâm just trying to understand where the attitude of some people come from. There are also common foods which have anti-cancerous properties like broccoli, tomatoes, and berries, will I be self medicating if I eat these common foods or am I just nourishing myself?
Or am I only self medicating from the moment Iâm vocal that berries have anti-cancerous properties?
Not by me. Itâs clear that you have travelled a particular path, one which has led you to conclusions which you believe may be of help to others. At least, thatâs how it appears to me.
I donât know about the dentist stuff and cloves. A cursory glance through Google search results indicates that Lidocaine is the most commonly used (synthesized) local anaesthetic. If you say itâs Eugenol, I have to accept that, because Iâve not looked into it with any rigour.
It was called Lignocaine when I was working in pathology. We always kept some handy because accidents in post-mortem rooms can be very serious indeed, though the lignocaine was only there to dull the pain during the trip to A&E.
I am on a different path, Aaron. Some of the conclusions I have reached are necessarily different from yours because I have a different set of priorities, but they are valid for me.
I understand what you are saying, and I hope you will accept that holding different views from your own does not diminish me in any meaningful way. I am also neither crazy nor a conspiracy theorist.
Trite it may be, but the admonishment âLive and Let Liveâ holds well for me as a guiding principle (except when it comes to miners in Retrievers - those just have to go).
You come to medical community with money and they will sell your product. But when they discover something, look how many years untill truth finally won:
If you think that was the last time big money was to be made and a lot of people suffered because of that, think again.
Iâve never seen or known of a broke or financially stuggling doctor.
Iâve never seen or known of a broke or financially struggling commercial airline pilot, deep sea welder or judge. Iâm not sure what your point is.
If you have a look at this article you will get to understand the big pharma paid $2 billion to doctors in endorsements in 2020,
The concerns raised were that doctors will perscribe a heavily endorsed drug rather than a less endorsed one. $2 billion is a lot of money to pay in endorsements, right? Again forgive my ignorance but shouldnât drugs be strictly perscribed based on their effectiveness against the illness?
Similar things have happened in the UK for a very longtime, large amounts of money was seemingly given to doctors over here who met targets,
A friend of mine even noticed the difference of opinon of many of the doctors at their local hospital, some were trying to push a treament my friend didnât like the sound of and other doctors were actually against the said treament and advised a less invasive treatment which turned out to be very effective.
Why is it that nobody seems to know what Iâm talking about, can I just ask do we all watch the news and read newspapers? Genuine question okay, whatâs going on folks?
A big part of discussion is understanding what factually happens, no conspiracy or anything, I am only refering to well pubicised facts here.
Charlatans.
This chart seems to disagree with that
