Difficulty is not a thing for many…most of us reasonable players just want to chill after work and not “play” a game that you have to “play” like a second job.

No you don’t, you can choose to play the game as you wish; what you can’t do is play the game without the chance of other players choices conflicting with yours.
Your “rights” are determined by CCP, it’s their game and their rules; if you don’t like the rules then you are free to leave and play something else.
No you don’t. You do not have the right to come into an existing PvP game and then whine and cry and demand PvP nerfs because you don’t get to opt out of the PvP and mindlessly farm your PvE content. It’s like joining a server in an FPS and demanding that everyone stop using their guns because you just want to walk around and look at the pretty scenery.
Nonsense. EVE has been a PvP game from day one, and in fact EVE’s highest growth era was when PvP was more common in highsec. The current player losses are happening in an era of more and more PvP nerfs.
Guess I can accept that. I did glance at your char’s Eve Board page, not much info can be seen on Chribba’s sites anymore but I was impressed to see +5.01 Security status on your character.

The decline in player numbers started back when now ex-CCP Soundwave & Co started nerfing PvE and buffing PvP / gank activities in High Sec space.
Lolwut. Highsec PvP has not been buffed, it has been significantly nerfed. Or have you forgotten unlimited war decs for ~5 mil each, getting full insurance payouts on suicide gank ships, neutral remote reps, etc?
Most who have been here long enough have seen many of these threads repeat themselves two or three times a year.
Sometimes it older players beating the dust particles of the long dead horse, other are new players with incredibly novel things no one could ever have thought of before.
