Yeah this is very bad. My guess is there’s pressure to monetize Eve more heavily from the parent company, or maybe some monetization department inside CCP. That’s been a general theme ever since they were bought out, but so far they haven’t really gone all in on it and the game hasn’t, generally, been compromised for the sake of monetization like, say, most free-to-play games are. Hoping we don’t see more of this and they continue kind of half-assing the malicious monetization.

The bad part is: I hate to agree with OP. This falls under the definition of P2W.
The good part: It’s not too late for CCP to remove this item from the package and fix some of the damage done.
Sadly alone the fact “P2W” will be associated with future search engine results will push away so many potential new players…
At moments like these, I’m glad to have never been part of the partner program. I don’t want to be seen as associated with a company sacrificing its last bits of integrity like this.

This is a bad idea, if a group of rich people would team up and buy this pack, and, in theory, decide to fight a same fleet as theirs, they now have an advantage just because they are rich irl?
This may sound unrealistic now, but who knows what kind of boosters we would start getting in the future if this trend will continue.

I have to agree with the principle here - Eve should never be play to win and this is basically just golden ammo with another name. Except its golden ammo, and armour and mobility all in one for cold hard cash.
Yes its limited in time and implementation this time - undoubtedly to test the waters but make no mistake this is the introduction of play to win and not a good thing for the game.
For a company that seems to actively shun obvious monetisation with evermarks and citadel personalisation - which don’t actually effect gameplay i wonder what planet ccp comes from sometimes.
Really f***ked up, CCP.
