No change again for me today - so I’m guessing no progress has been made on the MacOS front. It’s now effectively the weekend, so the next patch will arrive on Tuesday - but seeing how this could affect all MacOS users I don’t see any update arriving before Wednesday.
yeap i get that too
“New Eden moves faster, flows smoother, and feels more vibrant than ever. The new GPU-Driven Pipeline is now live, boosting performance and unlocking a more responsive, immersive experience”
yeah right
nvidia 3080, latest drivers, directx 11 or 12 simply bluescreens my PC, £20 a month for this sh*t!
As for all these people talking about how their clients look, I can’t even get the client open, also it is now trying to open in fullscreen when it should be running windowed. This sort of thing really galls me because it indicates that any testing done was carried out on one configuration that probably was run on the dev boxes in the first place, its lazy and definitely not anything approaching a strategy. I mean my company gives away its business software for free but the QA process is extensive being run on over 20 different combinations of browsers and OS. CCP is just a joke, no QA, no care, no customer service
Can we do a git revert
until we figure out all the graphical bugs and melting GPUs/CPUs?
Hopefully the following screenshot kills two birds with one stone. Having said that, there is no Graphical setting displayed there that makes any difference. This only happens when billboards of some kind are within range. M1 Max. I usually run 3 clients on all High settings and it’s been completely smooth until the Evolved update.
^ Man, that’s brutal… I experienced two “flashes” today during mission running. One turned the screen completely red and the other flashed bright neon green (similar to what you posted above). Nearest I can tell I (briefly) moused over something that had a red and/or green highlight. Neither ‘effect’ persisted for more than a second.
nobody can tell me that they tested the ■■■■ properly and that the errors didn’t occur
Well, the map and the billboards are certainly ‘‘more vibrant’’.
Not seen the same problem I have got listed yet.
Since the update I have seen a 70 - 80% increase in load on BOTH the CPU and GPU.
Essentially I can run half the clients I used to be able to 1hr before the update.
Have seen blue screens before reverting but I believe these were due to the CPU being maxed out.
Reverting to directx11 resolved the issue immediately.
Intel Core Ultra 9 285k
Nvidia GeForce 4090 Founders
128GB DDR5
Crucial T705 2TB Gen5 M.2
EDIT running on directx12 pre patch the same number of clients run 60% CPU and 40% GPU - opening additional clients above this are CPU bound as would be expected pre patch.
I can run the same 3 clients as before, but at a -25% to -50% performance hit on each (this is also with tweaking the graphics on each from “high” to “low” or “disabled”). CPU and GPUs are running higher and hotter.
So as it transpires the game runs better on my steam deck than my pc.
PC Specs:
64GB Corsair Vengeance 6600MHz
AMD 7700X
MSI GeForce 4070 Super OC
Samsung 990 Pro SSD.
Steam Deck Specs:
It’s a ****ing Steam Deck.
…the difference?
PC (Windows Client) had the update.
SD (Linux/Steam Client) Not had the update.
… honestly, am I going to have to come over to Reykjavik and jump on a terminal and sort this out myself?
Hello,
Still cant play :(.
In HS seems work fine but in null sec when I try to dock and move the game crashes.
2 Alts running omega and more than 1 week i cant play lol
I have cash to help with plane ticket and accommodations!
100% same issues god damn it
In the release notes from yesterday you blame your users for being part of the problem: “Some Intel integrated graphics cards with outdated drivers had stability issues or would not launch after a recent update.” Except, I check everything for updates every single day. At least once. Pretty sure my ■■■■ is as up to date as it can get. So tell me. HOW is it outdated software causing my problem? Unless, of course, its YOUR outdated software that’s the issue?
Just wanted to let you know we see through the BS
Might actually get fixed that way…?
My M3 Macbook Air is showing very high CPU and GPU utilization for EVE. I used to be able to sit on the couch for hours and now the damn thing is hot to the touch.
From a technical standpoint, worst update for OSX client ever.
I honestly wish they’d roll it back entirely for MacOS. The overheating issue is probably my biggest concern at this point.
I’m still encountering an issue with the map, and there are also random crashes in various locations.
