NOOOOOooooo. Leave this in please (well fix the bugs maybe). This makes the sites more interesting and challenging.
I have to say that I am really enjoying this event, it is up there with Warzone. Far Far above Alpha Strike and the Rogue Drones.
@CCP_Dragon I know you are seeing (and have seen previously) conflicting feedback on these sites. We the players drop roughly into two groups when it comes to your Events.
those that want them simple and quick
those that want an interesting challenge
Maybe you can have some sort of indicator in The Agency briefing (These npcās are expected to be highly dangerous) that would tell people āhey, maybe you should be careful hereā
Or
Maybe you could alternate simple and complex Events.
Personally Iād like all the events to have a similar level of challenge to this one and Warzone Extraction, but I recognise that there are players of differing skill levels that should not be shut out of every event.
Not true, I can clear the sites solo faster than in the previous event.
I like the event so far, it poses some fitting and tactic challenge, but I found a way to win contests 95% of the time. I expect people will figure out the trick pretty soon, and then it will become really interesting.
The only sad part for me is, that I had to sacrifice the PvP option on my Loki to be able to beat the sites as fast as possible and snatch the loot, namely drop the scram.
People are seriously having trouble doing these? Iām ACTUALLY going AFK and doing other stuff as my ship auto-completes these sites. Passive tank a gila, give it kin/explosive resists, and give it two Navy Valks and win while not even at the keyboard. The battleship rat hitting someone above for 6.5k damage only does 800 or so damage to a properly tanked gila. (Which a passive tank laughs at.)
PS: Talking about the standard sites of course, the VIP sites are a whole other story unless your using a carrier.
Just to add my .02 Isk, I couldnāt take down a single frigate let alone clear a site. I am, however, a newish player and an alpha and maybe the event wasnāt intended for new players or low sp alphas, and thatās fine. Bitter vets need lovin too
As other people have said maybe a little warning would be nice. Similar to how youāre warned of anomic missions. (Lumberg voice). Thatād be greatā¦
Siteās are solo-able in a well fit frig as long as you fly it well.
Edit: apparently they can alpha you randomly thou so possible but you will die eventually haha.
ā12:52:16 Combat 1575 from Guardian Angels Hanael - Wrecksā
I love these ratās they seem to try and counter you the whole time very fun ^_^.
Well first site tanked fine then second site spawned more webās and dead so probably not worth it, as afās are like 60mil a pop and you cant really activate your assault damage control because you donāt know when they will alpha you. Might work with a passive shield regen fit as that has nice buffer, harpy should be good but I cant test as I donāt have caldari frig 5.
Current normal Low-Sec Gala sites arenāt harder than common Hi-Sec types. Time to time they just spawns two addition frigates and one Cruiser. Thatās all.
Suggestions for Low-Sec Gala sites:
improve the Jeremelās Web strength. Because the current strength allows you to fly on 100 m/s with 4-5 Webifiers on!
add 3-4 more frigates per warp in wave;
add 1 addition Cruiser per warp in;
summon one BC just before last BS boss;
or summon both BC and BS boss;
or summon a BS boss with 5 frigates and two addition Cruisers at the same time. A kind of āspike offensiveā.
[updated] RNG and āspike offensiveā modes will be very good vs AFK rating and other kind of bots, which is well discussed on this forum.
Suggestions for Null-Sec Gala sites:
frigates should have Warp Disruptors . Itāll be āperfectly alignedā to 0.0 philosophy;
add a Dreadnought to VIP sites ;
and MOAR rats.
Hereās another Gila-Gala fit to roam Low-Sec Gala sites. This is good because it can be used by Alpha pilots and this is good because itās much cheaper than any well fitted T3 Cruiser!
Changes:
I improved the dps;
I downgraded the Signature. So, the BS arenāt so terrifying even with 3 T-Painters and Webifiers on;
I improved resistances;
usable with all T1/T2 modules;
An aggressive āsemi-buffer-activeā tanking fit with cheap DED modules:
[Gila, Gila-Gala]
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Pith A-Type Explosive Deflection Field
Large Shield Extender II
Gist A-Type Kinetic Deflection Field
Large Shield Extender II
AML Compact Omnidirectional Tracking Link
10MN Afterburner II
Arbalest Compact Light Missile Launcher
Arbalest Compact Light Missile Launcher
Drone Link Augmentor I
Arbalest Compact Light Missile Launcher
Arbalest Compact Light Missile Launcher
Medium Anti-Kinetic Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Anti-Explosive Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Core Defense Field Extender I
Valkyrie II x5
Hammerhead II x5
Tracking Speed Script x36
Scourge Light Missile x3160
Inferno Light Missile x2000
To make it max easy, firstly orbit the site beacon at 10km, then the last boss. Three Cruisers will Paint your Gila under 400m Sig, which is ok while BS is on. The BC Hanael will keep on your Gila like 220-250 sustained damage, even with minimal signature. Donāt let on grid more than 4 Cruisers, because each of their T-Painters will increase their damage proportionally.
I remember CCP saying some time ago that rewards go from (best to worse): Low Sec ā Null/WH ā High Sec
edit:
At the moment High Sec and Null Sec have similar riskiness in comparison with Low Sec. Yes, High and Null are very different but when compared to Low, they donāt seem that different from each other. Therefore, Low Sec is the place to put the best rewards.
@CCP_Dragon Since you are active in this thread, I was wondering if you could comment on how the rewards were determined for this event? For example, the decision to not have the NPCs provide bounties.
Iām not going to complain about what the rewards are (though Iām happy to share my opinion if you ask), Iām just curious about what the philosophy for the reward calculations were, particularly as compared to the previous event which was much easier but also much more lucrative (arguably more accessible to less experienced players, bounties on all NPCs, etc.)
To be clear, Iām not complaining, just wondering if there was any insight on this that you would be willing to share with us.
Again, loving this event so far and really appreciate the general way in which this was done. Kudos to the team.
Not really, in drone event accelerators dropped from every fifth site, now you are almost guaranteed to get standard one(20mil) every site and 1/3 chance for advanced(40mil) or serpentis āsomethingsomethingā(100mil). I already made 2bill on those, prices will surely drop but so far this event is much more lucrative.
Interesting data point. That has not been my experience. I have only run 4 sites, but I have only gotten one accelerator. On two sites, I wound up with a frigate skin, some fireworks, and 250k ISK in bounties. On one I got a booster, a skin, and 250k in bounties, so I am not seeing the same thing as you are reporting, but I may just be getting a poor ādice rollā .
Again, not complaining, just wondering what the reward design for this was.
For the record, I am running in HS, as I did the last event.
