In that case it’ll also be fine to make posts about German soldier who were proud to serve? Perhaps Syrians? How about Afghans? North Koreans? Stalin’s troops perhaps?
Or does that suddenly change things?

No, it doesn’t. In fact my German grandfather served in the Germany army during WWII, while my British grandfather worked as a blacksmith in the British steel industry and helped build the Spitfires. Many German soldiers simply followed their orders or were executed when they refused to or deserted. Part of the problem was that people couldn’t trust what the news paper said about what’s going on. It’s easy today with everyone having Internet access to judge all Germans as NAZIs, but this just isn’t true.
How about you show some respect for each other and for being gamers, and when someone shows their pride for their country then let them and don’t be the guy who disagrees, because you feel strongly about having an opinion?
Of course, one can also join ISIS and “fight the good fight against the American oppression”. It’ll get you the Darwin Award pretty fast.
If the U.S. didn’t want people joining ISIS, they shouldn’t have created it.
Mr Epeen
And you think that is different nowadays?
Lets be honest here: the vast majority of wars the US has been part of, or started, had zero to do with “freedom” or “bringing peace” and everything to do with securing assets and oil, at the cost of that country’s inhabitants, politics and infrastructure.
How about agreeing that this is not the right forum for it, just as it’s not the right forum for religion or politics more so because wars ARE politics.
Who says what the U.S. wants or doesn’t want? This is still just a thread on military pride. Why are you trying to make this into a political argument?
Being honest, how would you know this exactly?
Name one war after '45 where the incentive to help was true and just and not at all clouded by oil, assets or political games.
The Grenada Invasion? Never could figure that one out.
Mr Epeen
What makes you think the wars before '45 were meant to help?
Let me guess, you’re German and you think the Allied forces saved you. So WWII was meant to help. But now that you don’t have any war, but live a good life must all other wars be bad. Or maybe you just don’t know how the people in these other countries feel.
What really is your motive here?
Not German but nice try.
Don’t avoid the question btw, only reason to name that year is to not have to go back century… oh, wait no.
I have to, because it’s a biased question with the assumption that the wars before '45 had some superior motive. You don’t know that at all.
By the way, when you’re not German, then why the German name “Markus Reinhart”? That’s a pretty German sounding name to me.
ok then name any war.
It doesn’t matter. We’re not supposed to have political discussions here. So I would very much like to avoid answering it. But I’ll tell you this: even ISIS believes they’re fighting for a right and just cause, and they are entitled to believe it. There is simply no wrong and no right, when everyone loses. Thus I won’t go into this argument where all you really want is to polarise between what is a good and what is a bad war. All wars are bad. Period.
It’s still only about military pride.
No. It’s about U.S. exceptionalism on an international gaming forum.
In other words…political.
AKA against forum rules.
Mr Epeen
Military pride about a history of suppression, theft, assassinations, petty politics and bullying.
And yes wars ARE politics, hence my earlier statements that this has no place here.
That’s only your opinion.
You really do just sit here all day typing whatever random thing crosses your mind, don’t you?
Mr Epeen
And that is fine, but it is the wrong forum. I’m sure there are better places where you can celebrate that pride than the forum of a spaceship game with an international community.
Look at the discussion happening. This happens every time something like this is posted. It is the only prove we need to see that this is the wrong place.
ISD moved it here. Discuss it with them when you think there is a better place.
As I see it what Ima meant is this is the wrong forum as in the entire EVE forums, so like an usmc related dedicated website / forum is the proper place for such a thing. I think that is what was meant by wrong forum not wrong forum section.
