Hard Miners life

Did I read the topic?

It’s some very specific question!

Do you know if you spent 5 to 6 hours you would have an alpha upgraded to Omega?

Did you read what you typed?

funny. You a funny. Prove that. Make me omega after 6 hours

I want new ships. T2 ships. Minning ivents.
want whet Cpp returned to orca chance to mine good with drones.
I want game balance. Miners mash have same that cpp do to pvp players.
I have all. I am playing a long/ But what next? If you try all what to do?
I want 20 ships for miners. Chance ro fly in rorgual. T2 orca

Become Omega and you can fly every single one of the mining ships in the game. It’s not that much to be Omega.

You sound like a 5 year old. “I want! I want! I want!”… As an alpha player, you should be thankful that they let you play the game for free at all. You pay nothing, you leech your gameplay from all those who do pay for the server and CCPs employees. If you want more, throw some dollars into the pot.

You have T2 mining ships for all purposes. What exactly can’t you do with them efficiently? What exactly shall those “new” T2 mining ships have as features that would make mining more interesting than it currently is?

Orcas have been nerfed intentionally so people don’t warp them into a belt and mine with drones for hours afk until the huge hangar is full. Even in their current nerfed state, some people still do it.

Can’t happen, unless you absolutely re-design how mining works. And I bet you would cry bitter bitter tears if they would do that, because if mining would be as hard as PvP in terms of attention needed, quick decisions needed and mistakes punished instantly you would probably hate it.

If you have no ideas, no amount of ships will help you fill that void in your head. Sorry, but maybe move on to another game then?

You can mine in every ship that has turrets. And if you want to fly a Rorqual, skill until you can and go to an area where they can undock. Nobody stops you.

I want Alphas to be nerfed. Mining ships are fine.

Yeah, Alphas should only be able to fly frig-sized T1 ships with purely T1 equipment up to Meta4. And thats it.

And no more SoCT exceptions, ie: Gnosis, Praxis, etc. (apologies for the thread derail - we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming: “Miners in Crisis”…)

Then git gud.

There, fixed it for you.

It was a good writeup (from your point of view), but unfortunately CCP barely checks these forums, and they virtually never respond to writeups like the OP. You’d actually be more likely to get some response from CCP on Reddit, but it still wouldn’t be an ‘official’ one.

CCP is a business. The purpose of Alpha state isn’t to give all free players a fair and balanced shot at all areas of the game. It’s to get them interested enough in some feature of EVE to take the next step and pay for Omega so they can progress farther.

The Venture is actually quite a good mining vessel, even though it’s the smallest and first. And you can always do what even paid players used to do, and fit out a battleship for mining and go jetcanning.

As I’m sure others have and will point out, if higher mining vessels were available to Alphas then the game would be swarmed with them, and the value of the ore you mine would drop to next to nothing. It would gain you nothing but it would hurt all the legitimate Omega miners who are actually paying for EVE.

There are more combat ships available because there are more combat options in the game. Also, mining is fundamental to the entire EVE economy, most forms of combat aren’t. Alpha access to larger miners would have too much economic fallout.

If you want play free, fine, it’s good for the game. If you want to mine for hours in a Venture, fine, it doesn’t do much harm. But if you want full access to a commercial product, then you need to find a way to pay for the product you’re using. It’s as simple as that.

Expecting more is ignoring the effort of those who work to run CCP, and those who actually pay for the service you’re sampling for free.

… and maybe walk around in a yellow hat.
there would finally be more alpha fights and fewer miner

hmm, while talking about yellow… Alphas could be suspect by default. All the time. Wouldn’t that be a nice thing? So much PvP. They could literally try out all the weapons in the game on each other and all the tactics like brawling, kiting, nano, bricktanking… hmmm nice idea, nice idea

I always have good ideas, but you don’t understand me

/ mainly brawling

So ? What you forget or simply don’t know is that a lot of PvP ships above destroyer level require at least level 3 in not only all the ships below but in whatever mods are fitted. You cannot fly a Zealot, for example, without having Amarr Cruiser level V, and the T2 lasers on it require another level V skill, and you need top CPU and capacitor skills. Miners only really have ONE skill tree to climb, but for a range of good PvP ships there are multiple different skill trees to learn. My skill queue is currently 500 days or so.

You try skilling up for shields, ship, turrets, scan resolution, CPU, wepons rigs, Capacitor, target painting, repairing, energy transfer, energy stealing, use of nanite paste, thermodynamics, yada, yada, yada…all at the same time…and then come back and tell me the miner skill tree is long and hard !

Excellent idea. I mean…given that I am subsidising all those ‘free’ alphas I think I ought to have the right to shoot at them whenever I want.

You tell em honeybunny

I’m going to guess the main reason is to prevent ISK farmers parking a billion mining barges on every high-sec asteroid in existence all day and night for free. Buy the subscription and support the game you obviously love, or spend some of that ISK you make on Plex.

Exactly! Pay your mining taxes (also called Omega)! Earn the right to mine!
