Remember this when you vote in the CSM election. Vote for the people who are against ganking.
which ones are against ganking?
Why is it that the only ones i see that are against gankers are the alpha venture flyers- the same ones that don’t pay for their accounts and fly in a ship they all got for free?
You can replace a Venture for pennies. They’re so dirt cheap!
There are only a couple of candidates who mention ganking, I think. I did read all the published statements, but didn’t take notes.
Where Highsec suicide-ganking is mentioned at all, it’s usually linked to concerns about new players being attacked and leaving the game as a consequence. Again.
Since many of the candidates seem to spend most of their time as Nullsec-Dwellers, Worms and Low-Lives, it isn’t otherwise high on their list of priorities.
An exception is one @Bexey_Songweaver, who is staunchly in the anti-ganker camp (according to the tenor of her comments following her candidate statement). I did watch the interview she gave, but bailed out when I began to feel queasy.
Bexey may have spoken about ganking; I’ll never know. Perhaps she’ll make an appearance here and clear up any remaining doubt…
The previous year I ran for CSM and one of my main topics was on the removal of suicide ganking and I live in highsec. It was far from the only point of topic that I discussed but none the less it was the point that most people drew attention to no matter if for or against it. I did not run this year due to some real life things I have going on that I felt would get in the way of a CSM position should I have won. I will access how things are going for the following year and decide if I wish to run again
It is a major commitment in many ways. Only you can decide when the time is right once again to throw your hat into the ring (is that the right expression? I sometimes get it wrong…).
Mike Azariah is usually considered a Highsec representative, though I’m sure his experience is broader than that. He is also, of course, known for championing the cause of genuinely new players (not fresh alts of old crocks like me).
Mr Azariah doesn’t particularly like Highsec suicide-ganking but he does believe it should remain part of the game. There are likely others who share his opinion. If you are not one of them, you will also have people who share your own view.
It’s probably indicative of the fact that there are more important things to get right in Highsec - at least, as far as CCP is concerned. Once all that’s done, perhaps you can then bid us farewell!
There are YouTube videos on it, you could do a little research
“There’s Something Out There Waiting For Us, And It Ain’t No Man.”
so, lemme talk to ya…
up until a few years ago, you only had to be subscribed/Omega to be able to play EVE. you had a 2 week trial and that was it… Alpha clones are the extended trial. Sure you can fly almost any T1 or pirate ship up to a battleship but you can’t fly the T2 variants or anything larger than a battleship.
@Derien_en_Tilavine this game has a player run economy, and if we allow free players who won’t bother to upgrade and help pay to keep everyone else playing, why should they have a significant part in the market (ie mining, building, etc)?
Rubbish . tried out mining with an orca and a couple of exhumers in high sec for a day, was making 100 mill an hour. It was boring as hell though, much more fun watching miners explode.
No wonder you didn’t get enough votes.
You know what i didnt see this year, someone running for CSM to get rid of the CSM
yes. If you have Orca+ 10 hulks you can mine fast. Go for it.
But if you not?
you didn’t read carefully, or you only read what you wanted to see.
I don’t want all ships for alpha clones. I’m just saying that there aren’t many ships in general, and when 1 out of 10 is free, it’s little compared to ships for pvp where 100 out of 500 are free.
Also, the training time is longer.
There are no normal events for miners. And for those trolls who wrote above - you can go and hit. It won’t get worse for you. Because you’re already smitten
Come for the ore, stay for the fellow miners.

I am firmly against the sort of hi sec ganking that targets small fleets and individual miners. There are far too many people who use this easy picking method to puff their killboard. It is not very clever and is responsible for a lot of new players quitting the game.
