Yes, you can play the game however you want, but making the game difficult for yourself by choosing to avoid using the benefits of nullsec does not make nullsec inherently hard. Nullsec is ridiculously easy, safe and rewarding.

True but any static or repetitive activity will get boring eventually and have the potential to burn out a player especially if their only goal was to grind for wealth. Even PvP can be boring if your just sitting on a gate camping with smartbombs the whole time, for example.

The value of the activity is as you say one more form of PVE you can do as opposed to what your normally used to but again your going to want to move on eventually. The goal in Eve should be to always look for different and more interesting things to do, not repeat the same activity endlessly until you never want to do it ever again.

I’ve always found that the best way to enjoy PVE in EVE was to actually enjoy the PVE you were doing… and not JUST to grind for wealth.

It also helps if you already have enough wealth to enjoy yourself in game, buy any new ship you want, etc. etc… and then do whatever PVE (or PVP) activities you enjoy whenever you want to enjoy them.

But yes… some people are grinding for that next plexed month and it kinda ruins the buzz. Or maybe they just don’t enjoy shooting red crosses, in which case… ratting is not for them, most likely.

There’s been several new threads popping up about this but all are getting closed, so… this seems to be where they want us to continue discussing this issue, or else the January update feedback thread?

In any event… I have just one suggestion for CCP regarding the botting issue in Emerging Conduits. Since most people are doing it with either Rattlesnakes or Gilas, just have the Trigs in an E.C. heavily attack their drones. I realize that means probably all droneboats would have a lot of drone aggro in there, but… if that’s what it takes? that’s what it takes.

Full disclosure: I’m a Gallente (all 3 mains Gallente) droneboat pilot at heart and while I’ve moved on mostly to gunboats and missileboats, I’ll always have a soft spot for droneboats and I love my Ishtars and Eoses even to this day. But if the botters are using Guristas ships to ruin the fun for everyone else to the point that CCP has turned a site that used to respawn in less than a minute… to a site that takes 10 or 15 minutes or whatever it is people are reporting… then something must be done.

A corpmate/fleetmate of mine suggested heavy neuts for Rattlesnakes but… dunno if you wanna make it that targetted. I think just heavy drone aggro from the E.C. trigs and… gotta use guns and missiles in the site, boom… mostly fixed.
