I’ve been in several corps all of which have declared or been decced in at least 1 highsec war.
But you seem opinionated and closed minded, so I don’t particularly feel like conversing with you.

“as someone who was the top killer in and ceo and several merc corps i have a lot of experience, but i’ll only talk to others who share my experience”
aka i don’t know ■■■■ about what im talking about. thats what yoni is saying basically.
Well, the structure changes made it, so you also need one to declare wars. BF dudes did speak out publically about it already, and in summary say that hs pirates had to group up. Since you need the structures to declare wars, you need numbers to protect it from goons or whoever else piling up on it.
IMO, my stance always was that allowing anchoring of player structures in hs was a mistake. They just make things dumb for everyone, and redoing wardec mechanic around them was kind of necessary since introduction, but we would not be where we are, if they simply did not exist in high security space.
You forgot Wrecking Machine, which I was active in and am still a member of. They used to be highly active in wardecs, but have done a lot less of that over the past year…mainly because there have been fewer stations to attack.
Obviously, the new wardec costs make it less profitable to declare wars…as profit from a 600m ISK core barely covers the cost of the war. Though of course another tactic is ransom, and protection…similar to ganker ‘mining permits’. So actually destroying the stations is not the only source of income.
The number of tears shed for Black Flag: Zero.
Like charging 1 billion ISK to change corps within 6 months time? It would not bother me at all. In fact, they should charge PLEX so they can make a profit off it. Wait… would that mean FC are war profiteers?
In before the “Charging me xxx in yyy to change corporations within zzz time is blah, blah, blah…”
Do you think there will be an increased clutter of keepstars, astrahus, and fortizars?
Removing the clutter was one of the basic reasons for Wrecking Machine. A portion of stations destroyed were abandoned or about to be. If people in FC actually played the game they’d know this…and that no-one’s going to pay 500m ISK to destroy clutter.
As Mike Azariah said in his most recent News video…everything in EVE has consequences.
Its worth pointing out that Wrecking Machine was not simply rampaging all over highsec every week. Small areas would be targeted, on a rotating basis. So it might be 2 or 3 years before an area was visited again. One wants to give corps a chance to rebuild.
This. Absolutely nobody needs an Upwell Structure in HS. There are plenty of NPC stations to use. I don’t even think HS Moon Mining is needed in the game. For what? All those resources are available in other areas of the game, maybe the price would rise and make moon mining in WHs even worth it a bit. And Lowclass WHs are easily accessible from all areas of HS already.
But as said a hundred times:
Until they realize that problem and redesing them from scratch, they will run from one issue into the next, as players/groups will always play around with the crappy mechanics to find their next niche to abuse.
I’m against all the corp swapping nonsense. The whole thing of just hopping into a wardec corp and then hopping out again after a battle is absurd. At the very least I’d prevent reverting to a safe corp while the wardec is still active…otherwise the cooldown period becomes meaningless.
Good ![]()
I’ve fought with them and against them…in my many alts. They, like all highsec PvP groups, provide content. They provide a level of risk that makes highsec activity meaningful…whether people like the activity or not. Alas…increasing restrictions on highsec PvP are making the whole area about as interesting as watching paint dry.
I doubt this ever gets raised at CSM meetings. I just have this image of FC devs being like the Prime Minister in Yes, Minister, listening to a load of utter tripe from ‘advisors’ and nullsec bloc leaders and seldom hearing how the average pleb in EVE experiences the game.
While I wouldn’t be against removal of Upwell structures in HS, I think it has a positive side too that players can experience building a home and fighting for it in HS just like elsewhere in the universe.
HS could benefit from keeping legal PvP objectives like these.
Without it HS PvP would be less varied.
Structures also are an attractive step for players into the PvP side of the game without leaving HS for it.
Well, imho a fix would be pretty easy:
That, however, raises an issue…
Normally the swapping back to safe corp involves getting an invite in fleet chat while one is still in the wardec corp. People thus KNOW you are an alliance member. The whole process is more immediare.
If you’ve got to wait two weeks in NPC corp…obviously you’d have no access to corp hangers and likely not even corp stations in that time, and possibly not even corp chat. The whole process of anyone knowing you were ever in the corp in the first place becomes longer. If you can’t access corp chat…how are you going to ask to be let back into the corp ?
HS pvp was fine before the structures existed though, I started in hs and wardecs were always on order, but we actually had good fights, not just stared at a fortizar timer. Most boring thing to happen was a hs poco bash, but that was survivable if the owner didn’t respond or care to transfer/buyout. Now, every war is a rebranded poco bash x10 the time.
As for the structures in HS, it’s just too much pain to remove for the little cost it has, provides no real advantages in hs compared to npc stations. If taxes are an issue, they could make hs wars about who gets the taxes from npc stations there, and voila, content.
What?
There’s a corp application process.
There’s out of band comms, discord etc.
What are you wiffling about?
Thats why I suggested an easy fix for this too (that what I mean with “redesigning structures”)
Only for members of the Corporation/Alliance.
This way, small groups can use it as “goal” or “project” to build a home for themselves, can paint it, present themselves, can meet there and use it as staging station… without it being an attractive target for a wardec. One can still wardec them, sure, but that will definitely be unlucrative.
But if you want anything that either involves an Acess List (aka docking rights for outsiders, renting of services, hangars, tethering etc…) or industry/market - you will need a core. Which makes you a higher valuable target.
I have.
