I think you fail at forum trolling…
Why flag people in the first place, then?
The corp in question has over 2k members. Because it is a low/no-barrier to entry corp for players to learn aspects of the game. If you look at the corp KB it’s pretty obvious this one pilot is an outlier.
Correction: I (Robo) am not the leader. Toxic Yaken is officially the CEO but this Corp is a shared venture of ours.
Thank you for advertising us Githany! Does this mean we’ve made the big leagues?
Princess Aiko spanks me when I don’t gank, which presents me with a major dilemma: two things I enjoy, but I only get to choose one of them.
So you conveniently left out the rest of my statement:

And even if there was, they’re definitely not all online at the same time.

Princess Aiko spanks me when I don’t gank, which presents me with a major dilemma: two things I enjoy, but I only get to choose one of them.
Obviously no corp is always online at the same time. But if you flag half a dozen large corps as ganker corps even though only 1 or 2 players have participated in any gank activities, it adds up. It isn’t about the one corp being flagged - it is about the effect on your overall dataset if you aren’t performing the tiniest bit of sanity checks before going ‘all of these people are higher risk!’ on a recurring basis.
There is no guarantee those other members aren’t doing the same thing.
Like I said earlier, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
There is no guarantee any given pilot is not a ganker.
By this logic, Githany should be flagging all of the NPC corps to red because plenty of gankers live in NPC corps.
Funny, thought this was about player corps, not NPC corps.
Anyway, your way is much more time consuming and requires constantly going back and rechecking members in that Corp when it could be quickly done by just flagging that Corp. That allows more actual stuff to be done in-game than spending a bunch of time checking Killboard stats of every member.
Streamsniping? That’s the lowest of low tactics… I cannot believe a (fake) space-princess would stoop so low as to do that.
Try ganking your own corp mates then you might have the opportunity to enjoy ganking and also getting spanked as punishment for ganking your own people.
If you are doing this for your own purposes, yes. If you are building a list for others to consume? Give them better data! Otherwise your list is as valuable as ‘just set any corp to red if they ever have a member get shot by CONCORD’ - which can quickly be done with a daily scrape of zKillboard for recent CONCORD losses.
Not everybody killed by Concord is due to an intentional gank and constantly checking Killboard stats each day is not time efficient.
Both statements are true and do not counter my point. Garbage data is garbage data. Flagging a whole corp based on one actor without doing any validation is garbage data start to finish. Flagging just the player? Actionable but potentially incomplete data. Flagging the player, and once a week checking for patterns to refine to corp-level blocking as appropriate? Actionable and far more comprehensive.
Again: this is about touting data provided for third party consumption as being useful for reduction of risk. What a player does for themselves is entirely different from what a person is presenting to others as ‘a useful list of ganking corporations to flag’. When the criteria for ‘ganking corporation’ is set to ‘a member of this corporation has been observed ganking’, your data set is, over time, going to come to include so many false positives as to be meaningless at actually making a difference in risk assessment.
And all it takes to absolutely ruin the system is one person deliberately rolling alts into various new player (and thus pretty much open to anyone) corps and ganking in Uedama long enough to get them all flagged into this list, then dropping back to NPC corps for their actual long-term work at ganking.
Githany understands this problem after our discussion and set the rule to flag players rather than corps in that situation. The alternative is ending up with Brave Newbies, Eve Uni, Deep Stellar Coalition, and all the other newbro corps flagged and these newbies hunted by the very players who are touting their efforts as aimed at stopping ganking.
I don’t really care what your opinion is on the subject. You can keep moving the goal posts with ‘What about newbros’, etc but that’s a fail excuse. Most new players are not doing ganking. By the way, I believe Eve Uni opposes ganking. Obviously you must have some sort of personal stake in this topic or you wouldn’t be championing against it so intently.
I will say this, whenever anybody ganked me I flagged them and their Corp, whether they were successful or not. Same goes for those who transgressed against my friends in-game. That has served me well for my 13 yrs of playing this game and doing that has not filled my Overview with a bunch of Red characters.
I am 100% in favor of setting red all alleged ganking participants and their associates, real or merely perceived, because of the absolute chaos it will cause. The more false-positives, the better; chaos is good game content. Nothing is better than watching a bunch of carebears get into a blood feud with each other because someone in one corporation threw some insults in local at someone else in another corporation after accusing them of being a “griefer.” It’s better entertainment than any modern reality show can provide.

Thank you for advertising us Githany! Does this mean we’ve made the big leagues?
You was always big leagues and when your about there trouble afoot. And why not safety any more

By this logic, Githany should be flagging all of the NPC corps to red because plenty of gankers live in NPC corps
Most of our reds are infact players from NPC corps, the 2 guys from your corp (or 2 alts and one player) was in a gang with pilots from NPC corps, I take it they were alts of you corps members, most doing this want to keep any corp there main is in safe .
Even the other night one of your pilots was trying to interfere with anti-ganking operations , we had to many even for Kusion the goon ganker, who failed 4 times, so your guy I think was trying to bait us by bumping and locking us, I think.
Talking about starter corps we do have some set to red as they do gank on mass,
( sure you can take a stab in the dark at who they are, a prizes for the first right answer )
that’s their choice not mine and that puts there members at risk, we followed a group the other day with the intent to gank them but they went into a starter sys so we left.
For now we will set individuals in your corp to red and see how it pans out .

Princess Aiko spanks me when I don’t gank, which presents me with a major dilemma: two things I enjoy, but I only get to choose one of them.
Don’t you have a picture to post at this point it’s been a while.
