If you let your emotions rule your decision making, you will continue to miss the economic tradeoff that is no loss for me but a loss for the corporation that behaves this way. Players are going to mine, explore, run sites, kill rats - and generate revenue whether they are in your corp or not. You can either skim revenue off of those activities or not.
You are choosing to throw away a revenue source because the person generating it doesn’t do what they are told?
There does seem to be an “it’s all about me” thing being expressed here. I am dubious if it is the people with limited time who aren’t going to guarantee participation in fleet activities are the ones guilty of it.
its not about me… xD its about you and your alliance and youre log of as soon as there is a ping ! its not that you dont have time … you dont want it !
if you dont have the time then its ok but you write :
and this is not that you say you dont have time ! you say → stfu if i cant pwer crab as i want and dont need to defend my space then i´m log of ! you want all for free if youre come with such an comment …
I attend most fleets as a matter of practice…but even I have days when I simply can’t be bothered or I forget that there even was a fleet. And I think most good corps and FCs would factor that in so that even on a bad day there’d be enough people and any more than that is a bonus. If its a regular occurrence that not enough people can be fielded…then maybe the corp/alliance is biting off more than it can chew.
I flew with alliance leaders like Rydis way back in the past. She would see we ticked off 2 neighbors…then go for 3 or more to complete the set lol. Good fights, I guess. Till a lot of us were going broke af.
Who relevant will defend Jita-Amarr connection? All these solo players in highsec? Some nullsec block that is getting to jita with JF anyway? BLACKFLAG. and their friends?
Unless there is some other powerful 3rd party unknown to me, then it won’t happen.
Besides the highsec residents, everyone in EVE has an interest in destroying this connection.
Gankers can’t provide enough content so people lose interest, it needs other things like monitoring cartel organisations, especially nullsec influence, pirate incursions , raiding pirate and criminal strong holds.
Breaking up gate camps and yes I know people do do that now .
We could sell permits for groups that want to be mercs in high sec , just to keep pointless grieffers in check
What I mean is a power block based in high sec , that type of thing , we have high skilled players , numbers , isk , just not the willing , to many stuck in solo eve
and we have already power blocks in HS ! they never reach the same level as bullsec power blocks but for HS its almost impossible to counter them :
called HS War Allianced - i dont want to call them HS pirates cause the times of pirates in HS are gone and now they are more like “building demolition company”
Indeed you are right about pirates but trying to stop the structure demolition if justified could be one thing
So many low sec pirates to fight too
And I’m not naive it’s would be player based so right and wrong would be a debatable concept
Maybe that’s a way to do it , have an alliance that people can join for a fight that they feel that it’s justified. Then leave once fight is over .
I actually made a character for this type of purpose, wanted to see how useful an alpha could be with a small amount of training into certain ship types, maybe I should find a home for him now
i nevr want this ! i would apriciate if more corps would do this but its not an interesting game mechanic to declare war only on corps with structure … but this is another theme
“problem” is that HS player dont have any reason to group together … doesnt care if your alone in HS or in a Corp because you still do your “job” … if its missionrunning then you do it alone because you get more ISK out of it ! if its mining then nobody cares if you do it alone or not … the ISK output is ■■■■ in all cases of HS mining.
Abyssal is only solo content so no group needed ( except for high tier frigat abyss )
incursions are done by a group but they are more like an “incest group” and its also not realy able to contest most of them because it will result in lower income for all
homefronts ive never done it but i assume you can do it easy alone ?
HS exploration is not a group play element !
HS DeD are not a group play element !
You dont need to defend yourself if you dont have any citadel
you see … no reason for HS Carebears to group up !
but HS player dont want to shoot other ppl thats the reason they are in HS !
Some good points indeed but I don’t agree on all .
Nice to chat to someone that thinks about things , time for real work , have fun
Sorry one more point , we have had some very large wars recently, the Poco war attempts the parabellum war and the attack on Black Flag , all very big and using ship you very rarely see in null wars
would love to hear which points and whats your opinion about it.
yes they are there … but this are only rare “events”
i would like to see more such events and maybe Havoc can bring it if some important HS systems get reduced to low sec. but then, its low sec content and not HS content xD
HS need more stuff to do with groups ! - Real groups and not your alt army !
Very much this, with few exceptions. During the triglavian invasions the largest groups fighting daily on the side of Edencom were lowsec organized ones (FC’s) who made public fleets. Even those (fun, lucrative and very well run) fleets never had the size one would expect from the numbers living in hisec, even with the very lenient doctrines that were used. The Niarja loss was an incident concurrent with a nullsec conflict (and neither nullsec side caring about having a short Amarr-Jita connection, but both sides dead set on not giving the opponent any kind of advantage - TEST had been ganking in Niarja for a long time during the invasion).
And given that some very shiny new ships (or their bpc’s) are involved that will most likely be of interest to all nullsec groups (it’s the usual race for new doctrines), yeah, some border systems in hisec will see a temporary change in sec status. How temporary ? We’ll see.
The biggest weakness of HS is that, in terms of its dwellers, it’s mostly unorganized and inexperienced in handling conflict.
