How Can I BEST Help New Eve Online Players? :parrotdad:

The most annoying thing was losing security status whenever some Neutral player decided to enter your site. They patched that by making acceleration gate activations flag people who are not enlisted in a militia as suspects.

FW does not immediately tank your standings. What it does do immediately, is flag your character as being at war with the 2 opposing major empires. This means that if you jump into their highsec, their NPC navy will attack you. Those are far less dangerous than Concord tho, so unless someone scrams or points you, you can usually just keep travelling. However, the more sites you capture, and the more systems you flip, the more the faction you fight for begins to like you. And the more your faction begins to like you, the less the factions they’re at war with begin to like you.

For example, I’ve been playing FW for almost a year now, and I am noticing that as the Minmatar Republic begins to like me more, the Amarr Empire and the Caldari State are starting to like me less and less. The way I get around that is my neutral highsec character from the Ishukone Megacorporation, whom everyone likes. Except the Triglavians. I used her to circumvent the FW restrictions in order to FC Edencom fleets in Amarr/Caldari space.

You could start a n00b corp in a trade hub, recruitment is a PITA as rookies have heard so many scam stories it’s hard to gain any trust. But it can work as the more experienced members grow you can make them squad leaders etc. Be warned though “herding cats” as expression must be at least cubed to describe how much arse this can all be, it is a very serious timesink so if RL won’t let you do it then best not bother.

Last question to not derail the thread: if I avoid capturing sites (e.g. warp out after having the fight inside and not staying for the timer), I can preserve my empire standings, right?

Theoretically, yes. Yes you could. However if you pod them you’ll still get an angry letter from their parent corporations if they never left the starter corp:
Oh no

Yeah I remember that part. But at least it’s not an actual empire standing. All that does is prevent you from joining the enemy militia NPC corp in the future.

Pretty much. I’d still recommend just rolling an alt so you can relish in FW fully, if you’re gonna try it, since it doesn’t take that much SP to make a character combat effective. I have a 14 year old newbro I adopted from the Rookie Help Chat and whenever he wants to try a new ship he creates a new gmail, gives himself 1m sp via the referral link and then goes around in a T1 frig with T1 rigs, T2 highs, meta mids and T2 lows. With the exception of the Small Ancillary Armour Repairer, of course.

That reminds me, we try to avoid rigs/modules that will make the sig radius bigger or the top speed lower.

I’m training a character specifically for FW, but I still want it to be usable outside of it as well.

I think that penalizing the standings of players who prop up one of EVE’s flagship features is extremely unfair of CCP, and speaks volumes about their desire to extract every dollar possible by making players need to roll alts for everything.

To be honest I could get by just fine with only Jesoph. It’s just less of a hassle to send an alt to Jita in a Tayra and pick up 5 frigate fits. I’m more annoyed by the bug that removes the quotes from my forum responses, forcing me to edit em back in.

Hello
I would suggest you to try Red vs Blue Fight Academy. we do provide all ships free for the new pilots in Academy and our veterans answer questions make classes and guide new pilots non-stop. ITs non -profit community on focus institution. We are not null-sec feeder corp or we don’t do this for profit orientation …

We are bunch of veterans working for the community. please contact me in the game to learn more

I think giving a thumbs up in that part of the world is actually an insult.
I just had to point that out.

My wife called me at work to tell me there were ducks on our pond. :duck::duck::duck: There’s NEVER ducks on our pond. It must mean something.

@Count_Vlad_Tepes imagine that the station on which you are docked can be destroyed and your wallet looted … you would not write this post, and you wouldn’t have to help anyone … we would take from you ourselves

Hate to say it some just don’t want help.

Others just can’t seen to get their heads around the finer details of EVE.

Others just think they know better.

To be honest I find i get more out of helping follow noobe corp m8s, and those trying new features they’ve never tried before.

But try your best, even just one helped is one more better eve player.

I don’t get the message at all, but thanks!

Good luck with that.
The game needs to work first. It’s full of botters, it freezes every 5 seconds and it’s not a sandbox as advertised.
How do you expect to keep people playing when the devs make it so it’s unplayable ?

Truly magnificent.

Just going along with your general idea of “maybe some gestures might mean different things in different places” .

I applaud your attempt at nuance, Xuxe Xu. But in a forum of people that only live in black or live in white, adding grey just doesn’t compute for them. You’re wasting your time.

I’ve googled that. The peace sign apparently is still the peace sign …
… that other pose though, I’m not so sure.

Meant to make the face look smaller, I think.
