HOW CAN WE REVITALIZE THE MARKET?

After two years of eating nothing but ■■■■ sandwiches, it’s amazing how happy you get when you get something you actually want.

I find it interesting tho, that most of those changes only affect a small region of space.

Hopefully the FW stuff will also be good.

People are getting their hopes built up too high on FW. The whole idea of faction warfare is extremely difficult to execute properly - it is like ship insurance or capsuleer bounty prizes - the payouts are always either too high or too low. I am not sure if it is even possible to make FW work.

Although … if it is possible … it would be a nice change of pace from instanced garbage and nullsec grinding.

It really isn’t; they just have to be willing to upset the “giv monie” people at least a little bit.

  • Opt-in system to fight for any faction without penalties or standing hits
  • Characters that actively participate in FW are given many good perks, such as reduced market fees, PvE multipliers for extra bounties/LP/ore in empire space
    – Active participation means a certain amount of “points” is earned per period of time via participation in kills of enemy ships and structures, so that non-participants (e.g. market hub traders that never undock) can’t reap the benefits without taking on additional risk
  • Increased drop rates on all FW kills
  • No more FW PvE component at all
  • No more NPC navy ships interfering with players except in a handful of capital systems
  • Raise empire space market and NPC/PvE taxes on any non-participants

Most of these changes wouldn’t even necessitate the creation of additional game assets. Just state changes and changes to values in databases.

A bunch of PvE-grinding, NPC corporation-living, gluttonous turbo-bears are of course going to complain “why do they get all that extra stuff and I don’t!?” They can go blow a goat.

TBH what has kept me out of FW is the standing stuff.

Esp since I only got one guy.

I mean I go into them and try to blap peeps anyways

But I think I’d actually sign up for it without all the other BS like faction navy and standings and stuff.

But? How would risk-averse bot aspirants farm a system like this? It would be worse than blackout!

I did miss the last two weeks.

There was no reason to login since I currently own no structures.

It’s really that simple.

Sadly, I see nothing on the dinner table that entices me totake up my knife and fork again Brisc :frowning:

You can disagree all you want, it’s the reality.

It’s got nothing to do with undercutting. If you’re seeding a market you have to list a lot of items, and some of those items will rarely sell. Relist fees make in impractical to keep those items listed, so you delist them. People who would buy those items and also buy others at the same time then go elsewhere - because if they have to go to a bigger hub for some items, why not buy all items at a hub,

This has a cascading effect where low demand items being delisted lead to other items dropping in demand. The end result being that it’s a giant pain to seed smaller markets and it’s more cost effective to just compete in the larger hubs.

When CCP introduced the relist fee, the intention was to prevent the 0.01 ISK game of endless undercutting. That’s fine, but at the same time they killed the ability to renew an order. A simple fix would be to give the ability to renew an order without changing the price and have no fee (or a very minimal fee) for doing so.

I know you’ll get pedantic on me, but one used to get some blue loot from l4 missions sometimes. One used to get stuff from salvaging rogue drone wrecks. Missions were absolutely nerfed. We used to run a few hours of missions and be able to buy and equip a decent ship with that. Not anymore. Hisec L4s.

Oh cool did I miss Marie Antoinebrisc telling us we are ungrateful for not enjoying our broken GUI and why arent we happy he and his friends are richer now?

Put he ‘W’ back in ‘FW’.

I don’t recall ever getting blue loot from L4s. The payouts were always where the money is, and those haven’t changed to my knowledge. A few hours of missions will still get you enough to buy and equip a decent ship, but a lot of ship prices have gone up thanks to the industry changes (although many have gone down).

As for the last two weeks, we’ve seen a ton of fan friendly changes announced and some even in game. There’s more coming, and the expansion will be here by the end of the year. This has gotten a ton of folks I know who quit to come back.

Is the sun glare still there?

I thought we got that fixed.

Have they added the capacitor level to the digital readout on the HUD yet?

Not nearly as big of a priority as cat ears and anime decals.

Inflation hits market due to Null and high sec mission payouts being the same is supposedly a good thing lol.
