How to get more people to play eve

Hahahahahaha … you are truly a rare calibre of stupid

You were looking at mirror when wrote this? :joy:

“Build a man a fire, and he’ll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life.”

I like you, Pratchett quotes always make me smile.

Interestingly, how many destructive people have Eve attracted , and now when they have destroyed everything in Eve, they hope they will be able to attract new ones ingame and destroy them too.

Here’s a not so big secret, nobody is denying that PA want something from CCP. What is being questioned is the claim that there is a record of their expected rewards/demands that is publicly available.

tbh EvE has always and will always be somewhat of a destructive game, the issue of course isnt that, many of us grew with the game but when we first started the playing field was more even - and thats the real issue, its basically like the fansy saga… except nothing was done about it. AND so what we have ended up with for a long time is people who know the mechanics utterly using and abusing them vs newer folk; which is never good gameplay for everyone involved and so ccp decided to do ‘things’… only everytime they do something they attempt more of a bandaid, a quick fix; not a balanced one.

In truth though i have no real idea why or how a lot of the changes came to be, like when they changed the stealing and suspect mechanics… and in recent months the change to wardecks and even neutral logi.
These sorts of ‘patches’ really are unimaginative and rather than deal with the issue in a balanced way simply just end the whole conversation by denying it completely.

And that, is the real issue imo.

Wait a sec.

WHY DO WE WANT MORE PEOPLE TO PLAY EVE?

If Jita deserted? Are there not enough corps to occupy null?

Wormholes empty?

I mean I suppose some people have deep love for PA and want them to make more money, but beyond that why?

Perhaps it is based on those of us who have watched player numbers decline steadily for 5 years or more, while bot and semi-AFK numbers grow.

Or those of us who have watched CCP shed division after project after work team after ‘research’ initiative, all the while continuing to introduce new, buggy code, or completely borked ‘events’, or complain that they ‘can’t do much more about the botting issue with only 2 guys on the team’.

It might even be all the players who post that they went looking for ‘content’ for 2-3 hours and then logged off to go do something more interesting.

I suppose I’d ask… why wouldn’t you want more people to play EVE? Are you frightened of competition? Or perhaps just trolling with nonsense to be a jerk, as you often do?

Even the player loss is denied by the bittervets…inside their bubble is no playerloss…

They had their little mud pond, small niche where they, thanks to incompetent CCP, was kings and masters, and now it’s end of the road…

“Tradition” for 15 years now…

Why change something that protects their cozy bubble ?

afaik there are no solid numbers to enforce or deny that there are less players; it certainly feels quieter unless you happen to come across a big group in which case your left wondering why they’re camping a gate with 2 loki’s 3 guardians, kere, ashimmu’s and obvious cyno gnosis… and it wont even be a pipe gate, you can literally burn back to gate, jump out and go around them - its utterly futile and brainless… but thats what people do.
AND if you do attack them in cynos 3 carriers for your one navy omen… so you just warp away…

Yes, many of us have been playing a long long time, and have been PAYING customers too… you?

Now you’re just making stuff up.

Player loss is not denied, we all acknowledge that it is a thing, what we disagree on is the causes.

Past money is worth nothing…the reality is…ignoring the reality because “we did it for 15 years” is dump

I think that is a very valid point, however if CCP keeps nerfing the options for people to interact with each other, more players does not equal more “content” for the players who go out trying to find people to interact with.

Take abyssal space as an example. Instanced PvE areas might attract some people, however if they spend most of their time in their instanced bubble, where they can not be interacted with they might as well not be there at all. (In regards to people who see other players in the sandbox as content ← just writing this part to make sure certain ppl don´t take the statement out of it´s context).

It was an honest question however your response is very much that of a jerk.

it would be bad business sense to throw away loyal ‘long term’ customers over new unknown ones, and would you rather hire the carpenter that has a years experience… or 15 years?

Many have more experience with the game than a fair amount of the devs i believe.

That in itself should not be sneared at.

Changing a games target audience is a huge risk that never pays off.

Reading about The Secret World is a great example. They tried to change an MMO that leaned towards RP and puzzles to a shooter and failed miserably.

Drove away their existing base and no new players game on because in the end the MMO didn’t have what it takes to compete in the FPS market.
