How to make ganking and AG a play style

And ho do you make this happen?

If you simply increase the difficulty of the content, that it requires 2x more players, all you achieve is that the content will be instead multiboxed at best. (I am referring to the barges EHP buff here)

Belt rats are forced on players. YOU were the one who said, quote…‘Forcing interaction is bad, because you’re always going to be forcing at least some players to do something they don’t enjoy.’

I don’t enjoy belt rats !

It’s utterly pathetic to make some lame ‘part of mining’ excuse, as nothing about mining itself demands the arrival of belt rats. A person could mine quite happily and successfully without any belt rats at all.

You cannot have it both ways. If it is just fine and dandy for belt rats to show up as part of the game…you have zero cause for complaint about any other pirates who show up as part of the game.

They are not a necessary part of mining. You don’t have to encounter rats in order to mine. Thus to argue that they are ‘part of mining’ is just sheer silliness. Its on par with arguing that bird poo is ‘part’ of my car windscreen. Maybe I should get the car manufacturers to add it to new cars by default !

Your usual sheer nonsense. If 8 Guristas show up and scram and blap a Venture…and I show up in the exact same ships with the exact same ammo and scram and blap the Venture next to it…there is zero difference. Heck…you’re the one who insists its as simple as pressing F1 !

I get a great laugh out of how much twisted semantics and spurious logic you have to conjure up out of nowhere in order to try and avoid double standards.

We can stop fleet ganks ok thank you, one key point is we have to be there or if we are around at the same time some gankers get all salty and stop ganking.

Again miner ganking we can stop but as I explained and maybe you failed to read if they see us at a belt they will just simply gank in another location, which I don’t blame them.

Aiko would have great pleasure in presenting us a kill if we tried to blocked her way. Find away around us then come back a drop the kill in local just to say we failed

Like many people say here ganks can be stopped with game mechanics as they are, I don’t want anything changed to either side, but the play style needs to be improved, to stop the boredom.

The idea of this post is to think of ways around the problems we have with out gimping the game so snowflakes have it their way. But even snowflakes have a right to play too, we all need each other.

What part of " You don’t have to encounter rats in order to mine" wasn’t clear ? How can you say rats are part of mining when you can mine successfully without meeting one ? To argue that rats are part of mining is just baloney.

CCP added rats that non-consensually gank miners. Strange how you…oh so utterly obsessed with consensual roleplay…are utterly silent on that.

criminy…this guy Lucas just needs to be perm banned from the forums…maybe the game too.

you won’t hurt Lucas, your armor is too shitty to hurt him…

bro, on a previous post you were asking aiko to have “some systems so they can dock and you can do your inefffective AG” failing to realize some key points:

High Sec is already Aiko`s.
You claim to stop ganks, let me tell you, you dont. You are not in our gank calculations. Never were, never will be.
The only effective AG is CCP (and miners monitoring local and d-scan), you are not a factor on this equation.

What you really want is to whore on concord killmails. thats all you did, Its all you do, and I understand you are bored, why wouldnt you?

so yeah, feel free to biomass and transfer all your assets to me.

nothing will ever belong to you again…

Oh yes we do, we stopped the best ganker in eve 3 times in a row, I can now take 3 cats out even before concord arrived in my own, times that by number of pilots in fleet,
Of course, I understand why you can never admit our successes and so your failures

calm down ganker

Nope. You don’t get to invent what is relevant or not. On the overall scale of Eve, it is you that is irrelevant.

Fact is, you rattle and whine away about new player loss, yet CCP gank their own noobs via the belt rats. And you tie yourself in knots as you insist this non-consensual griefing of noobs is part of the game…yet whine to the very people who are doing it about anyone else joining in. I smell the distinct whiff of hypocrisy.

But then its Lucas…and you’ve been doing that for 7 years.

Their effect is exactly the same…ship destruction. A ship is just as destroyed by an NPC as it is by a ganker. So your philosophical word salad evasiveness is meaningless as in either case the player is sitting there with no ship. At which point, what the hell does it matter whether it was destroyed by a NPC or a player ? You desperately try to invent some difference, but there is none…and you know it.

I mean, I could multibox 8 Guristas ships and turn up in an asteroid belt and zap a Venture using the identical ships and ammo and technique that 8 NPC rats just used on the Venture nearby. Zero difference. If my ships displayed a red triangle the player would not even know there was another player behind the attack. Where is this difference you are talking about ?

To be honest, I have considered ganking the NPC miners. They did seem similar to ganking other players, given the subsequent response fleet and all of that. I even made a few posts on the forum asking why that wasn’t a real play style. Shrug.

It’s quite comical really. Gank the NPC miners and almost instantly an entire fleet of combat ships will show up from nowhere. Totally realistic.

The bigger problem is the NPC standings. I never figured out if killing the NPC miners would make it so that the facpo would chase me around. I hate the facpo.

Ship loss is ship loss. It can’t be simplified any further.

As for NPCs…I’ve killed thousands. You keep trying to put forward some myth that people who do PvP don’t do any PvE. But NPC interaction is boring, because it is predictable. Perhaps one day there will be genuine AI that can pass a Turing test, but in the mean time the thing that makes PvP so much better is the inherent chaos and unpredictability.

Latest research shows that true intelligence actually involves emotions…which are effectively reasons for doing things. So the biggest irony is that the ultimate AI NPC of 15 or 20 years time will probably be totally indistinguishable from your average ‘griefer’ and will even smack talk too.

The irony. ‘PvE Only’ Eve will be no different to today. In a way that would be poetic justice.

Gawd. You mean like 2 + 2 = 4 is oversimplified ? Oh no, wait, its 5 in your universe.

Nothing is ever what you’re saying…given your propensity for saying one thing one minute and the complete reverse 5 posts later.

and you spend weeks trying to prove him wrong… over and over again… are you people sitting in prison with nothing to do with your time?

You’re not?
