How To Save Your Knees

Hello citizens of New Eden,

I notice that the sale of kneepads have gone up around New Eden, and many clone docs are reporting that they are finding many denizens of high sec/null sec are reporting a large number of knee sprains and fractures.

They’ve been finding that many high sec and even null sec peoples have been praying excessively to daddy CCP. No worries, I shall help

Now, with the coming ganking changes, I shall help you understand how to navigate and stop them , using in game tools. The need to pray to daddy CCP to save you isn’t needed and frankly makes you look bad

Now, read below!

The Art of The Anti-Gank

Now you have to understand, with the coming patch things are changing for the -10 ganking crowd. This guide and doc is aimed toward those peeps BTW.

Post patch, once they undock the catas, they are lost already. Therefore they will not stop until they kill something. However, this makes your job easier.

Logistics of What You Need

-Jump Clones in all ganking hubs across space
-Ship caches in those stations to quickly respond
-A spy implanted into ganker intel channels, to find out the general area they are in, more expensive post patch as it’ll have to be Omega now and you’ll have to gank to establish street cred
-Dedicated intel person who will utlize F10, zkills, AG channels and locator agents to get as much real time info as possible
-Dedicated in-system chars to quick check systems

Ship Fits

Below are some fits you’ll want to use. You will only need t1 frigs

A fleet comprised of these homies is pretty much all you need. Now of course, this is only for hunting catas, if going after bigger prey you will have to adjust your fleet comp. Know that post patch, I predict most gankers switching to nado ganking supported by tags.

These ships all warp faster than catas, which will allow to beat them to gate and get ahead of them.

FCing The Battle

Now every battle is different. But below is the general strategy you want to do:

-Once you get everything on grid, try to point as many catas as you can
-Now just because you point a cata doesn’t mean that’s the first one you shoot
-Most cata fleets are close together, so point each one but focus fire on one at a time if can to clear the field faster
-Do not bother with pods, gankers don’t carry implants and you waste time trying to pod them, clear the ships
-All of the ships in your doctrine are kiters, if you fly right the catas will be helpless, even if not, the crucs will keep them basically helpless anyways

How Do You Know You’ve Won?

Now this is the interesting part. People are under the impression you have to kill the entire fleet to “win”. You don’t. Even getting 2-3 of the catas is a victory since it impacts the math and their target selection. Post patch, they can’t even dock up so you could add cheap t1 scanners to the fleet to scan them down if they safe up, as they will have to keep safe bouncing.

Even chasing them around means they aren’t ganking, which means you “win”.

Now I know you’re saying wow, this seems like a lot of work. It is. Hunting other players is hard. Also in the above steps are what most gankers use too. So you see, it isn’t so easy huh?

Cause it if it was, you’d already be doing this. Hunting an actively evading player is one of the hardest activities you can attempt in EVE.

Now this guide is expandable, but in reality effective AG isn’t expensive. It just takes planning and prep, like everything else.

In Conclusion

So. A lot of words. What’s it mean? It means get off your knees. Stop praying to a false deity to save you. You have all the tools you need to save yourself. Salvage your dignity. Stop crying and braying and ripping your clothes in grief.

Instead take action. Play the game as it was meant to be played. Make friends. Have them help you. Experience the joy of fighting together, flying together and accomplishing actual things.

You concerned for the nubs? Recruit some to fly with you. Give them frigs. Teach them the ways. Show them the only person responsible for keeping themselves alive is themselves.

Understand the game you chose to play. This universe is dangerous. Filled with peeps who will scam, lie and do their best to kill you if they can.

However, you can also find great comrades in arms, those who will fly, fight and die alongside you.

That involves undocking. Effort. Time. Work. Doing things on purpose in the game.

If you don’t like gankers, fit up, fleet up and fly out. Don’t wait for Iceland to save you.

Do it yourself.

It is a guide actually

And I encourage others to post their input as well.

Weird that you didn’t post yours

You don’t agree with the AG sentiments expressed in this guide?

What would you do differently?

Gix, even if you have a biting intro (which is your style), the rest of the anti-ganking guide and the fittings more than fits the definition of “non-troll”. I’d just ignore the previous poster, in my experience they have problems identifying sincerity and are blinded by who is talking moreso than the contents of what is said.

One thing that could be helpful is suggesting engagement distances. Most newbs picking up on this won’t realize the danger radius of a catalyst with void is actually pretty small, and I’ve seen newer people more easily skirt on the outside of their engagement range and – due to missile delay – begin missing shots entirely without realizing it.

Mmm true. It’s why I put the disrupters in.

Once peeps learn they can stay at around 10km and be fine, they tend to figure it out

Another thing is you could update the cost of each ship w/ estimated Jita prices – might show people that being in a fighting AG ship is readily accessible and doesn’t have to risk much.

Ahh very true.

Hello, puny human.

Time to invest.

There is no “daddy CCP” never was.
They’re in fact praying to ME… as they should.

Granted. Do what little you can do to lead them to ME.

You do that… while they pray for fair PvP.

Stick to EVE and let me handle the religious part of it.
The need to pray is Great. It may make you look wise but more importantly it will make you STRONG and not look bad at all.

If you want to waste your time

What is “fair” PvP tho?

You realize since war began, you always want to stack the odds in your favor hm?

Hence this guide for AG as the catas literally have no defense against this kind of fleet

I think most of the post flew over your head

I already defined “fair PvP” in one of my other post.
Obviously you’re not a priest or follower of mine or you’d know what I wrote, which makes you a pagan, unworthy of answers from ME.

Yes I do. And why shouldn’t I? You said it yourself:

Why would I not stack all the odds on MY side?

Yes yes, do your best to lead them.

If you only had an inkling…

Ah so you don’t have one.

Got it

? I have no interest in AGing.

I solved ganking my first month back.

What’s funny is people crying to daddy CCP actually nerfed the thing that basically solved ganking.

So they kinda shot themselves in the foot.

Cheap way to compensate for your laziness.

Curious, you write more about AG than anything else in this forum but “I have no interest in AGing”
Sure, sure…

Alreeaaddy then

Please stop  my sides hurt :joy:

And you’re here to tell them how stupid they are, right? :joy::joy:

Not really. I asked, you balked. Pretty simple

Because most people can’t or won’t PvP. Hence the guide

shrug

You tell me. They had a bulletproof way to make themselves basically ungankable. Even abyss runners.

Now due to their crying, they can still do it but it’ll cost them. It’s pretty funny

Yes really.

Do you even have a number or a percentage? You don’t because you know nothing about it.
“Most” is for lazy guesses.

I’m glad so little made your day.
Take care.

Heh. Based upon the fact that peeps cry to daddy CCP instead of solving it themselves

And I’ve been playing the game since 06

So that’s most people. Let’s agree on that then.

So if most people want something changed I don’t see why CCP wouldn’t change it whether they cry whine pray or merely ask.
The simple fact of asking wouldn’t force CCP to do anything but if MOST players ask they’d be stupid not to act.

That depends. If you don’t like ganking, there are a plethora of in-game things you can do, as I’ve outlined

I am perfectly fine with PvP and ganking and robbing and lying in the game. I myself ripped off more than 5bil in ships and modules from a corporation some years back so to be against ganking or PvP would be going against my principles, lol.
But I do feel for those who get ganked out of nowhere in High sec without the chance to do anything about it.
That’s why I’m for changing the Kill Mail system and these new changes as well.
As I said before, gamers don’t mind PvP but it has to be fair or they’re gone and these changes will make things fair and square, at least hopefully for a long while.

Except there are tons of ways to avoid that too

They have more than enough tools to keep themselves alive.

They merely have to use them

But how does anti-ganking help me make isk to buy a rorqual?
