This isn’t player fraud, this is you not knowing how the game works. All you need to do is cancel warp then re-align. Accepting the duel request just shows you didn’t deserve the 8.8bil in ships nor the bowhead in the first place, as clearly Corvettes are more your speed. Did you at least say “good fight” in local after your Bowhead was destroyed?
Was going to say “can I have your stuff?”, but that’s probably not worth the effort.
That is exactly what it was.
Is your definition different from the dictionary?
They never claimed they wouldn’t destroy the ship, technically speaking they did make the warp faster as the user would now be in their pod, meaning they could warp faster. Clearly this was not fraud, but rather a creative service! The player who did this should be commended for having thought of such a wonderful way to aid their fellow user!
Is Google search too hard for you?
Read this https://old.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/8t038r/i_got_ganked_in_my_jf_warping_to_my_insta_dock_in/ and see how a player with the proper mindset deals with these issues.
This happened to me recently in my providence in that i was getting bumped by some guy called Sergey in a machariel then a kind person convos me and asks for to invite to a duel so he can web me, I dclined the “help” as it was obvious to me what it was, even though in my 8 years of playing I think this is the 2nd time ive been bumped. Joke was I only had 200m of cargo, I refused, they got bored and left.
Whilst I do have some sympathy (as I did once stupidly undock with about 100 fuilly researched BPOs in my hold and god killed), I think after 10 years in game you should be fully aware of at least the rule of everything is game.
So are you going to stop playing?
It is a naff and pathetic mechanic that you got caught with, a lot of people who get caught like this leave the game. So if you do decide to stop, drop me an eve mail on your decision.
If you decide to leave the game do put in this event as your reason for leaving, mention the hour and a half of being bumped, it is important.
Advice:
If you do decide to stay, auto reject duel requests, but do not auto reject convo’s, just block those that offer to web you, because once you are bumped webs do nothing at all.
What you should do is create multiple BM’s around the gates or get someone you know and trust to get in an interceptor to burn in the direction you are being bumped and have him in fleet. Then play with your MWD to see if you can get a warp out.
do you keep a list of players who leave the game after they get bumped and dumped
And now removed…
Shows how clueless some of these people are after playing for months on months even years.
Webs definitely help. I’m an expert on webbing freighters. If a hauler blocks a person trying to help them, they are limiting their options for getting away.
All someone has to do is look at your killboard and see how webs helps your wallet…
I am an expert at webbing freighters. You could say I’m the best in the game at webbing freighters.
This is not “proper mindset”. This is karma whoring.
What is the longest amount of time that a player is allowed to bump another player and prevent them from moving without attacking them? Could you legally just bump a freighter for hours upon hours and prevent them from warping?
I think the longest I came across was almost four hours…
This this player was bumped for one and a half hours is pretty sad in itself, he has a right to be annoyed with that, then in desperation they accept ‘help’ and at that point they are pretty damn angry. This one seems to be going off on the duel though…, which is of course where he made the error in accepting it, but after one and a half hours…
Couldn’t he like sign off or something and do something else and hope he won’t get ganked then later sign in to see the end result? Wouldn’t make his chances of survival any different… actually it would improve them as this way he wouldn’t even have the option to consider such a bait duel invite.
By the way: Imagine the local CONCORD police force spectating the event and munching their like little rodents and collectively shouting “boom!” each time the freighter is bumped.
I feel this is due to an incredibly outdated and unloved physics engine. No collision effects or damage. Just bouncy ball ship physics is really really bad. Bouncing off objects after crashing into them at full speed, and the enemies just fly right through objects, and the objects do not block damage. Really really bad physics engine needs a massive overhaul instead of dumping all of their cash into another FPS that will be another massive net loss like Dust and Valkerie and Gunjack and now the latest and greatest garbage dumpster fire Project Nova yet another first person shooter money pit instead of updating the main event stadium.
They are trying to franchise and profit from the EvE brand name instead of investing into the actual game itself.
Infinite magical bouncing game physics are the result of that. Gigantic starships crashing into one another should not behave like bouncy balls. That is something I would expect in Call of Duty 13 Golden Operation Zombie Mode loot crate turbo hyper edition.
Dear god I cant be the only one who thinks this is really disappointing game physics? Is it to much to ask for a little be of collision effects?
