Carebears are helpless children post #655321
Actually CareBears are your brethren from null, WH, and low, but most people in high sec are not PVP fighters as skills for other activities take up the bulk of their skill que.
It’s impossible to get thru to people who’s brain is missing that part that tells them why it is not welcomed, it’s like the first thought brings an error message and then aggressive behavior.
It’s not that hard to actually understand that these are not helpless they just lack the skills, then the first thought people like you go into is the “man up mode” aggressive mode, I mean how far removed does it have to be from the knuckle draggin ancestors to not default to aggression?
Is English your second language or something?
Eve is an amazing game because so much of it has a natural balance.
Let’s look at the OP’s example, why are there so many PvP players in WH space?
- They like to PvP
- There are a lot of PvE targets
Why are there so many PvE targets?
- Because players have learned that they can make a lot more money in WH space, even with the ship losses
If wormholes get too saturated with PvP, then the explorers will decide that the rewards don’t cover the continued ship losses- and they will do another activity. (Like mining or missions in high sec). People will gradually move to PvE activities that make the most money for them.
If it’s too hard to make money exploring- explorers will stop going to WH space, and PvP players will get bored- and find another location to do PvP.
But I don’t think that will happen, because there is a lot of money that can be made. When one successful run in a wormhole can give you enough isk to buy 30 of your ships, people are gonna take their chances- and give content to PvP.
I’ve been playing this game for only a few months, and I love that there’s so many choices because of that balance. I also like that there’s no “one way” to make the best isk, because it could be different for each person.
It sounds like you dont really understand WH mechanics. From what you’ve written it sounds like WH space is forever filled with people and that pve can never happen. This betrays a real lack of understanding of WH space.
I’m guessing you day tripped into WH space, staying very shallow within the chain and only while the K space connection was open. Traffic in WH’s with a K space connection will always be a lot higher than deeper, more isolated chains of WH’s. Especially those with hi-sec connections that attract day trippers.
For a more informed experience you should have scanned deeper into WH space, into holes without hi-sec K space statics, and lived there for a few days to observe more realistic conditions.
You also totally disregard the ability to roll statics, effectively cutting off a WH’s connections to the outside and isolating it, barring incoming holes. Most PVE in WH space is done when statics are rolled or door stopped, allowing for uninterrupted PVE. (Barring, as mentioned, incoming holes.)
Anecdotally, my own C1 / HS static hole is mostly empty except when the static is close to Jita/Amarr (day trippers), or connects to C5’s (when I will see C5 corps running logistics). Otherwise it’s mostly empty. I can’t remember the last time i ran into someone in my hole.
You need to also look left and right.
Badum tish!
Nice name, reminds me of hurrying up to the restroom because you’re touching cloth.
Very good info, I will definitely take it into serious advisement because I am definitely not a WH person at all.
And still. There are places where hardly ever somebody goes. There are some in Minmatarspace and Amarrspace.
Derelik is aptly named.
X702 is k space -> c3
Now I wanna know where you are visiting in wh space to find all these people. Most of the time the complaints are how empty wh space is
My philosophical question for the day:
Is the wormhole empty… if everyone is cloaked?
You complain about saturation but seem to think the word “everywhere” has a different meaning than it does, it means everywhere, making the universe larger would just make it feel empty, i mean you may not remember the days of 2004 but EVE felt stupidly empty, it made finding other players way too complicated and considering this is a player driven MMO, contact with other players is kind of the point
Are you for real? CCP needs to decrease the cluster size inline with decreased player numbers. We should be looking at a cluster at least 1/2 the size compared to 5 years ago.
Actually, many don’t want contact not because of being antisocial but because it always seems to end badly so most people don’t want to take that risk.
Even tho this is a game the nature of RL still has influence, there are locks on our doors on our house, locks on our bedrooms, locks on personal effects, barbed wire wasn’t enough so we invented razor wire, we have security cameras, security glass, security for security, dogs, guns, knives, ect, because people are just not good creatures so NOT wanting contact isn’t some disease or neurosis it is smart to avoid people in game because the anonymity provides people the ability to unleash their ugliest desires on others without reprisal, problem is that some of us don’t have this “need” to associate with others to mitigate BS.
That’s going in the wrong direction, by shrinking the clusters would only invite more to drop out because of constantly dealing with bs.
You know Star Citizen and Eleite dangerous both have single player games where you can PVE without worrying about PVP interactions. You can also play on SISI which has a tiny community and you’ll be able to pve alone without any interference.
Have both, and do play for sure, I also go on SISI when I really want total PVE, but even on SISI I’ve been aggroed on that, they are everywhere but on SISI since there are less crazed it does tend to be better.
Odd, I have been in WH space, Null sec, and Low sec. But I can find it easy to be alone… but anyone who pays attention to your map you can see when someone enters a system in Null-High Sec. So it is easy to track them down. As for WH space… if you are near any of the low WHs C1-3 you will be in higher traffic areas and easy to find. On average there is about a half dozen people in each of those systems.
But at least once I week I go diving into Low sec, and can sit around scan down sites hack them and be out with out ever having someone scan me down… I do this in a Probe.
I keep hearing about seeing the map, I have looked at it but don’t understand how to read it to tell how busy a place is on the map.
