I really want to play this game but

Eveytime i log-in and try any of the features game provides, there is someone in stealth waiting with a tect 3 ship to gank me. It feels like %95 of players (around 20k) are sitting afk like a psycopath serial killer whole day and waiting for someone to pop-up who cannot fight back…

High-sec should be a only PvE zone where players can learn, build, and enjoy the economy without random ganks. PvP already thrives in low and null-sec — keeping high-sec peaceful would make EVE more welcoming for new and casual pilots while still preserving risk elsewhere.

This game is not for you. Find one that suits you and you have fun with as EVE is not it.

Who ganks with a covops T3C?

I guess he meant ganking in the general (non-suicide) meaning (simply using overwhelming force) and in the context of wormholes, though just a reasonable assumption.

The features you dislike about this game are a cornerstone EVE was built on: Player versus player conflict in a dangerous universe.

You may think you want to play EVE, but it seems your idea of this ‘EVE you like playing’ does not correspond with what EVE is.

You are aware what EVE is and you dislike it. You don’t like the possibility of threats in high security space and you don’t like the idea that at any time a cloaked cruiser could be watching your every move. For many of us these are fun challenges to overcome, opportunities to be that threat, or to beat that threat.

It sounds to me like you do not want to play this game.

I really think CCP should return to the old ways when it comes to advertising EVE, to better manage player expectations instead of as something it isn’t and hoping (enough) people will stay anyway (in other words misleading them).

As an additional benefit it would spare us (some of) these “EVE is too hard”, “hisec should be 100% safe”, “ganking thread #n+1”, “afk cloaking is unfair” and other such threads.

 :psyccp:

It would help if you woud describe the scenario in which other players attack you. Because with safety settings on green and a reasonable ship, attacks are pretty rare in highsec.

I went and looked at your zkill, you’re not getting ganked in highsec, you’re going into wormholes and lowsec, where you’re a perfectly valid target.

Every one of your highsec losses is to NPCs, not other players.

I disagree with your opinion. If your suggestion were implemented, in my opinion, it would provide a very false impression of the game.

No where is safe. No where should be safe.

That is the nature of EVE.

That is the nature of EVE since it was released over 20 years ago.

I think of it, “no where safe”, as the foundation stone of EVE.

i also have alts who are getting ganked everywhere and im just asking for High-sec to be a safe zone since they tried to kill me just today near a customs office with an empty hold on a 0.9 system….

Times change.

Ah yes, change the game that people love to play just because you cannot handle playing it.

I can’t response everyone one by one, this is a “player ideas” space, so this is my idea, like it or not.

Fair, you can share your ideas here.

We also can share ours.

If you wish to improve you can tell us your experience and ask for help. If you want us to give our opinion about your opinions you should continue asking for the game to be changed to suit your needs. I think the first option is more productive if you want to eventually enjoy this game.

It sounds like the security of highsec did its thing and you survived.

This also sounds like a total noob interaction. No actual ganker is going after an empty ship in a system with the 2nd fastest Concord response time. This interaction sounds more like someone didn’t know they shouldn’t shoot you, until they found out.

This is all predicated on this interaction actually occurring in the first place, which I don’t believe it did.

That affects the whole games economy. You want a gank free area, then that area has no isk value. Mine in safety all you want. No risk, no profit.

1.0 starter systems are made for those reasons, Highsec is a safe place.

/Just Bulk tank and clear those belts as it would take a very large fleet in those systems to gank you.

Lots of dumb miners and haulers survived this game. It’s not that hard as you think.

Along with adding a pop-up when a ship is lost to go to the NES to buy a new one?

Eve Is Hard != Eve Is Too Hard

Hisec should be 100% safe != Actions should have consequences and meaningful accountability

ganking thread #n+1 != Gankers Using Bots to Cheat

afk cloaking is unfair != Mass AFK Cloaking Bots Are Problem.

When a ‘list of items’ includes one that has created a more healthy ecosystem ( with regards to mass AFK cloaky campers, eg, Aunt Jemmima’s Souther Kitchen Alt 00-99 now unable to extort entire regions of space ) it lends weight to the idea that all suggestions are equally misguided and biased towards a state which actively hurts the game, rather than improves it.

I would be curious to know this choice of destination was arrived at due to a flashy youtube with a clickbait title of ‘make x billion/hr in wormhole/low/null’ that plays to people wanting to remain independant solo operators before they have developed sufficient game skiills, knowledge and pilot experience.

Not much PvP happening in Jove space. If that was truly the rule to live by, CCP would not be able hide behind their walled garden now would they?

But many do not love the game, those who have left outnumber those who remain by a significant margin.

Yes they are. Had a catalyst pair jump me in a hulk many years ago, They don’t need more than 6 seconds + the garbage ‘two rookie ships shooting each other to delay concord’ delay to knock out a ship with such low ehp. If it were not for the fact I had a max leadership character in system ( back when there was a % increase system wide ) would have died for sure.

Survived is a little different to ‘continue to beat their head against the brick wall’ now is it not?

Do they?

And for what reasons did they leave? I’ve heard many things. “Not story driven” “Not first person view flying” “Hard to figure out how to play” “Too open ended, no idea where to go”.

Not every game is for everyone. People should try various games and stick with ones they enjoy.
