For a look at people who do enjoy some of the more engageable PvP (faction warfare)

I find JudgeSarn very entertaining to watch for PVP & Hateless_Gaming for pve Burner Missions
Then occasionally BjornBee for Fleet pvp. I don’t know many others who share so much and fun to watch.

There isn’t a way to “rationally” discuss the “issues” with PVP or any other part of the game with a gaming community that plays the game in different ways.
You will always have discourse simply because different play styles have different views and experiences on what is good or needs attention to make it better or at least more “inviting” to engage in.

I don’t know of one single player or CCP employee who could discuss “PVP” in Eve without showing biases toward their own play style. So you will always get people who believe “their way” is the only way.

To be honest the OP and first 2 posts in this thread sum up the thread. It could have been closed at that point with no further discussion needed.
There is no right or wrong way to play the game, all we need to see is that not everyone will enjoy the same things others see as “the best thing since sliced bread”.

Out of close to 1.000 responses this one sums the topic up reasonably well.

I would say my hesitancy to get into EVE pvp stems from that it just doesn’t seem interesting.

I need to try it for myself and experience it first hand. But no one is talking positive about it that I know personally

That’s pretty much par for the course here. Rather then people calmly, rationally, discussing issues…correcting any errors…and so on, all you ever get is ’ my Eve PvP is the best thing since sliced bread and everyone else sucks '. Which doesn’t really help anyone at all even if it were true.

It isn’t that they suck. They just choose to be wildebeest
