Actually what they did was take an exceedingly boring activity and thrn it into something amusing and maybe even fun.
Don’t give me ideas
Zkill says I’m mostly cuddly. It’s not entirely wrong, but for some reason it almost never lists when I kill, but seems to always know when I’ve been killed.
It’s about as accurate as the estimated price of things in the market.
Did you link your API to zkill?
Um… No?
I didn’t know I was supposed to, and in fact don’t really know what that is exactly… Well, not even exactly, I haven’t the faintest idea.
Zkillboard pulls directly from your character via the API. So, if you haven’t logged in and approved it to do so, you will only ever see the kills where the other party has. Just login to zkillboard and it should work.
or manually post the kills one by one
That’s what I do with alts,which I don’t have
It’s also important to post kills so we can see who the Criminals are
no one have.

I’m so happy you spelt that one correctly Billy, so many other people would make a spelling mistake there.
@Ramona_McCandless Did you let Billy loose again?
I have it under control
barking noises, taser noises, a squeal and a thump
Totally under control
dragging noises
This thread keeps going in new and interesting directions.
I think the other thing that makes it work is that we have a genuine love for the people and culture of Hek. For almost as long as I have played this game, I have loved this system. To me it has always felt like a dirty little backwater. It’s a “trade hub” but for the outlaws, lowlifes, pirates, and other ne’er-do-wells. It’s Tortuga. It’s Mos Eisley. It’s Madripoor.
I have always wanted to do something here but I could never figure out what. But, I looked to the work of Hek staples like Pipo Leclown, Solstice Projekt, and others. And, I came up with this. We are the East India Company of Hek. A “legitimate” business but with all the nefariousness that one would expect from an operation stationed in Hek.
Only when Time is more expensive than Effort
Removed a large number of off topic posts. Keep it civil and on topic, thanks.
Removed a number of posts because they were in some way critical of CCP and the big blue donut.
Fixed it for you.
Pardon the snark. It’s just that, as far as I can tell, all of the posts that were removed were absolutely on topic as they spoke to the motivations and primary actors involved in this situation. Sure, it was nonsense and untrue but it was on topic.
I think what set him off might have been my comment about someone sniffing glue and drinking paint leading to a rather astonishingly fact-free rant about… Um… Stuff, especially stuff that has nothing to do with what you are up to in Hek.
Speaking of which, I tried to visit you today but you weren’t home, I did get targeted by some of your crew however and apparently one of my comments in local about “being edgy” about said targeting made me another new friend. This is the way of Eve, someone in a mining barge targets someone else in a stealth and yet another person makes friends with the bomber pilot.
THIS is how player retention happens. Not the new player experience, not the acceptance of someone being a sociopath when they aren’t one, but the ability for one person freaking out to cause two others to become friends. And, looking at it another way, this is your doing.
So, thank you and well done!
I wonder if the original poster of this thread has started to realize how good his advertising campaign for your corporation is…
Yeah, this was an awkward time to get noticed. I am on vacation all week which oddly enough means significantly LESS Eve time. Truth be told, without my kind and loving hand at the rudder, the HMA is not terribly effective at… anything. Better than it was at first but still a long way from being the cohesive organization it will grow into. I guess that’s what happens when you build a public fleet and let anyone take the wheel. But yes, bringing people together is what it’s all about. Doesn’t matter to me if it is for or against as long as you are engaged.
My personal favorite story is of a lowly Venture pilot by the name of PLAGUEz. We invited him into fleet but he refused as he couldn’t get past the strongly implied… or else. So, he was sanctioned. Nothing special there, except that his response was to declare war on the HMA. And, the little scamp actually followed through. He started practicing his ganking, built several alts, started gathering intel, the whole nine. Now, he isn’t terribly good and most of the time he is ganking pilots that we would have also ganked. But, he might have been one of the countless players who join, mine, get bored and leave. Instead, we gave him a purpose and a mission. It warms my heart every time I think of it.
