Highsec miners tend to be salty. If your responses weren’t salty, good for you. The same thing that drives them to be salty drives them to keep mining. That’s probably why you don’t mine in Highsec anymore.
Just to add some fuel to this fire: I once saw that Aiko dude gank someone and then troll him in local, but the dude was completely cool about it. Aiko then spent like 10 full minutes doing everything in his power to extract tears from this guy, but he was having none of it, just laughing it off, congratulating him, and having fun with it. To which Aiko got clearly increasingly upset and hostile, eventually directly insulting the guy in genuinely narcissistic and childish ways.
I think the OP has a point to some extent. James’ blog is brilliant and no, there’s nothing wrong with that. But some of the CODE agents are so invested in mistreating other players for their amusement, it’s bordering on insufferable.
Cool story bro
And you completely forgot to screenshot it right?
The game itself has one cardinal rule. Don’t un-dock what you cannot afford to lose. That being said, there are an awful lot of T2 pinatas on the km’s, either because they:
- Do not know how to navigate properly.
- Do not read the hull or role bonuses for their hauler.
- Do not use the right kind of tank/fitting.
- Some combo of the above.
The HiSec ganking takes away the afk autopilot crowd and certainly makes some more aware of their surroundings and routing. But the abusive meta-gaming outside the EVE GUI is not acceptable. Some countries have laws against cyber-bullying. For good reason.
To make things more interesting for both sides, fit active tank mods on DST’s and an AB (not a MWD). The DST hull gets crazy overheat bonus to active tank mods like reppers, boosters and hardeners. When you see the gankers on the gate, try the following:
- Overheat the tank and prop mods before you de-cloak.
- Align (do NOT Warp To) and activate tank + AB.
- You now have a cruiser sized target, under high transversal, against BS guns, with a crazy set of overheated resists. You are also not inflating your sig radius with a MWD, making it harder to land full damage shots on your hull from the ganker BC’s.
- Wait for Concord to clear up the local warp interference and get the nanite paste ready.
If you rig for resists to get your baseline up, the active tank overheats will give you some truly brick-like numbers. DST align time will always suck. Focus on the tank, not the trip time. If you need speed, use a BR and fly it like it’s NulSec.
Let’s make things interesting and stop feeding pinatas to pirates.
Cheers!
Since only some countries have laws against cyber-bullying, perhaps the United Nations or International Criminal Court can take up this investigation!
Can you give us some examples of that “cyber-bulling”?
In today’s society the wrong emoji can be considered ‘bullying’ lol.
Of course you did mr forum alt. I am sure you kept the logs of that conversation.
So CODE. bullied you with an emoji? Wana talk about it?
Show me on the computer display where the bad emoji touched it…lol
Post the logs.
I once saw Aiko in local making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me
It really depends on the miner in question. Personally, I’d be upset if I was ganked by someone from CODE but I’m well aware that such behavior is legitimate gameplay, and I would quickly get over it. Nor would I be foolish enough to feed the gankers the salt they crave so much. When someone goes into a complete rage and starts throwing around slurs and death threats, though…yeah, that says more about the one who was ganked than the gankers.
Come to think of it, does CODE. have a list of all the ganks they’ve done and what percentages of people reacted in certain ways? I wonder if the stories they put on Minerbumping have predisposed other players to think of all miners as whiny children when it’s actually a relatively small percentage of miners that have such responses.
Or maybe the variables are skewed due to the people CODE. tends to target in the first place being the AFK crowd…
Isn’t that against the forum rules?
Yes, we keep a complete record of every gank and all communications are archived.
You guys need to run statistics on that and put it in a pie chart, see how many people react in certain ways.
You should come to our Sunday morning stockholders meeting.
eyeroll someone cant debate, so a new wave of flagging begins.
How strong of them.
Says a brainwashed slave.
code and their video game deity were a cancer in eve. Hence it’s current state, it survived the chemo and massive radiation treatment, I think…minus half the playerbase. LEL
I wrote a song about it.
