So currently a miner/hauler can fly NPC and be imune to all PVP combat except ganks. Then you want to all a new layer where if they are not AFK, they can hit the panic button and a fleet warps in to save or at least give them a 50/50 chance.
And you don’t think that’s a buff…right…
I don’t. But a hauler/miner isn’t a combat ship and you are just tying to buff it to one…
Go to minerbumping…ALL the data is there to avoid a gank. All the DPS vs tank vs SecStatus…
Correct…but that’s hard and you want to make that easier too so…what a shocker…
Never claimed that now did I …do you always feel the need to lie?
Align…use an anchor…slow boat…problem solved AGAIN…
Freighter ganking is pretty much dead now. I don’t see as much gate ganking as I used to. Miner ganking is still quite interesting. There are very few lone, easy targets around. Miners have come up with all sorts of ganking counters - including flying super-tanked ships (obviously), but also by mining next to orcas so that they can swap ships as soon as my catalyst lands on grid, which is a good way of demonstrating they are at the keyboard. I have also seen plenty of mining ops with defensive fleets - they can’t always stop the gank, but they can make it very unattractive to scoop the loot afterward. I can also say that there are a lot of failed ganks - pretty much all mining ships fit some tank these days and Concord is a bit unpredictable. Even a retriever can be tough to kill in a 0.6 system, if it is fit well.
Flying around with massive gank fleets killing everything might have been easy, back in the day, but solo ganking unlicensed miners is not particularly simple or particularly easy. Even when we have small gank fleets, we still have failed ganks, since we aspire to juicier targets.
It’s completely normal to have very strong “oopinions” about a game you haven’t played in years. That seems totally legit to me. I haven’t played Starcraft in years, but I know its totally unbalanced and unfair against Zerg, and I’ll argue about that endlessly because back in the day I launched multiple simultaneous attacks and I definitely know what I’m talking about.
Anyone else think its completely hypocritical to throw around personal attacks, but then when someone responds to this, you go crying to the forum moderators and pretend that you are an innocent little carebear? I’m pretty sure that’s hypocrisy.
Hmm. Now what would he do if I questioned his intelligence…
Now watch what happens when I use Lucas Kell’s own words to argue against him, notice how all I have to do is change some nouns, because his arguments contain no logic and are based on sheer hyperbole, vapid buzzwords, and emotional rhetoric.
Watch!
I want antiganking to take some time and investment and be open to a balanced counter mechanic. You on the other hand want to know that if you select a target for an antigank, the only thing that can prevent it is if you do your math wrong when calculating the required DPS. What is it you hate about having to actually engage in combat with other players?
If you can’t counter my actual point just say so, don’t keep throwing up strawmen. Feel free to show me where I’ve said that a ganking ship should should suddenly be a mining ship. You’ll just have to get your traffic some other way. And none of those will ever make you un-antigankable, because there is no such thing as an un-antigankable ganking ship. The absolute best you can do is make yourself lless [sic] appealing that [sic] the person next to you.
Currently, ganking mechanics are as close to impossible as mechanics can get without actually being impossible. The chances of even getting on the same grid as a miner are minimal, let alone actually being able to actually do anything about mining. And yet people have still been antiganked. You can antigank people off their alignment or use disposable tackle.
So one gank at best about once per 15 minutes is too fast? You are also ignoring all the prep that has to go into that plus the scouting too and loot recovery. Not to mention that 2-4 accounts a solo agent is running…ya, no time or investment there at all.
You are buffing it by calling in a fleet…if you don’t get that then you are an idiot.
AND I NEVER CLAIMED THAT…
Bask in your ignorance then…
Becasue nothing is 100% safe…which is exactly what you want…see, full circle…
You want 100% safety…you just showed to everyone that even with a very high percentage chance of being ignored or evading, you are STILL not happy…you want 100%…
You asked for constructive, educational posts and you still can’t let any information through your thick skull. You have a fantasy world in your head that is not related to Eve.
How would you know since you haven’t played in years?
Why should it be easy for a solo player to antigank a well fit ganking ship? With a handful of alts you can antigank pretty much every ganker. So to be clear, you don’t think ganking mechanics should be balanced because you’re inept at antiganking?
Ganking should take time and investment and be open to a blanced [sic] coutner [sic] mechanic, but so should antiganking. My opinion is that antiganking should involve combat and investment on both sides and support escalation.
When you play rock paper scissors do you complain and for everyone to play only rock? You do know that EVE is a game right? A game where counters are asymmetrical at times? You do know this right? I’m actually worried you don’t.
I could say the same for the miners…so there goes that argument…
Nope. You just don’t have a clue. You are crying that a non-combat ship be somehow gifted with a defense fleet to give them a chance against the gankers. That’s like saying you want rock to only be able to beat scissors 50% of the time. It’s moronic.
You are not entitled to a hard counter as you are a non-combat ship. Soft counters are already in place.
But AGAIN, a hauler/miner isn’t looking for PvP in normal cases…If a miner is fit for combat, then yes but that’s a pretty rare occurrence.
That’s called a corporation or an alliance…oh wait, you mean MORE than that…FFS…go play SIMS…EVE is not for you…
Rather than the miner actually learning to fit/fly his ship in the first place…you maybe want to start there.
There is no counter to most things in life…deal with it…
Except for the ability to call a fleet which you don’t see as a buff oddly enough…
I’m enraged by your lies…not your opinions so try harder…
You barely play the game and don’t fly the ships you are even talking about. You are 100% ignorant about the topic, the ships, the tactics, the counters and even HS itself. You are literally an ignorant moron.
