What I said is that he should not be able to be held there indefinitely while you get your shite together to kill him. So he has to have a chance to get away if you are not ready to go for it.
By the way I noticed that some Chinese gankers seem to be picking up the slack in Uedama, the same guy running that smart bomb maller on you was someone I have recently had some fun with. I am going to watch your co-habitation with interest… And the PLA guys too.
I was going to reply to your post, but things seem to have moved on, I will agree to disagree with you and I will find it amusing as your tally of freighters and JF’s rises.
So, the thread you linked has Fozzie linking to another thread, where he talks about Endie from CSM X “championing” the issue to CCP. The thread where Endie announces his candidacy also mentions how his corp is the founder of Miniluv, Goonswarm’s highsec gank squad.
It seems like Dracvlad’s theory is not only plausible, but probable.
Where he and I probably differ is our opinion on whether or not the change is good or bad. Personally, I agree with it. Even if freighters are relatively easy to kill, this doesn’t change the fact that they’re utterly massive ships.
Even if it would only take a couple of anti-ship missiles to sink at best, that still won’t be enough to completely destroy the hull and cargo; it’s too big. IMO the wreck HP change makes perfect sense from both a lore and gameplay perspective.
You know, if you don’t want people to think you’re Loyalanon, you’re doing a rather haphazard job of it.
If they’re leaving because they don’t like how other players can attack them anywhere, at any time, then that’s just the cost of doing business. As much as we might wish otherwise, not everyone is going to like EvE’s gameplay, and I don’t think there’s anything that can be done to change this without destroying what makes the game unique and appealing.
CCP and the players just have to accept that EvE’s gameplay is not to everyone’s taste and try to improve on what’s already here without “broadening the appeal” so much that the gameplay is reduced to bland, uninteresting trash. The last thing anyone wants is for EvE to end up like Star Wars Galaxies.
I actually agree with the change because of them being massive ships, but it was not so much the change but more to do with how it happened. Because as soon as AG started ganking the wrecks, the gankers got upset and then bang instant change in their favour, this issue had been raised by the original play for many years with no movement, but it was so evident when a high level Goon that was the CEO of the then main ganking corp got involved.
It was only bad in that it changed emergent gameplay for AG more than anything else which had AG operating on the same basis as gankers in that they could use small inexpensive ships to have an impact just like gankers.
You would not believe the salt from the gankers during the period that AG was doing this, it was immense.
However a much better way would have been to create a large number of random cargo containers around the wreck rather like the can spew that they did on exploration sites at one point. That is perhaps more logical than one big can with everything in it? Your example is a container ship, which is the type of system I would expect for the ships in Eve.
Still you also need to understand this in context of the gankers always saying that they suffer nerfs all the time when in fact they have had many buffs. I could list them if you want, but I would trigger them so much.
Do you still think CODE. had something to do with that like you always pretended to know or have you realized in the meantime that we had nothing to do with all of this?
Also funny you still cry about that one nerf ag had to endure.
Was Endie a member of CODE? No, were the Goons working with CODE at that time, yes. Did it affect CODE members too, yes, watching CODE players ranting in local how bad it was and logging in anger indicated to me that they obviously felt upset with it. As CODE players and Miniluv were pretty chummy at that time it is highly likely that you wanted something done. But it was Endie and Miniluv who put the pressure on CCP.
That is your twist on this, I was annoyed because we had managed at last to develop a group of players that were having fun with cheap ships and easy to train characters to have an impact and bang it got removed. And there was I thinking you liked emergent gameplay? You do, except when you don’t. Nah, this just shows your complete and total hypocrisy which is why I like detailing it.
That you want to make it clear that it was Endie and Miniluv shows that you want to distance yourself from it which you should. You can cry about me crying and all that but you have lost the right to make any defence of any game play which is emergent.
As if that was the only nerf…, though I would suggest multiple buffs to ganking, though most were done without ganking in mind, which is actually rather bad in terms of CCP, but amusing in any case.
Actually it was only a couple of months of systematic AG action. Before that it was entirely random.
Actually no, I think it is too easy currently. Bit of a difference there.
If you read my reply to Valiran you will see that I did not defend it as such.
I am happy with how bumping is now, and you seem to be doing fine on your grand return, go get them tiger.
PS I suggested something to some of the AG players, I expect them to do it over the next couple of days to you and Kusion. I am looking forward to your reaction…
It is highly likely that freighter gankers of CODE. where in favor of such a change. That doesn’t mean they where involved in any of this.
It didn’t get removed. It got balanced. You can still do it you just need to sacrifice more than a 1mil ISK destroyer to do it. What is it you always say? Don’t you like a bit more challenging gameplay?
Oh and there I was thinking you liked a challenge and better balanced game?
Because someone else did something you don’t like? Yeah, probably not
Yeah there where some pretty substantial buffs to ganking I agree, the biggest of them skill extractors which allows us to get as much free omega gank alts as our PC can handle. I was against skill injectors for this and many other reasons but no one cared. Before that we had fleets of 20+ people together ganking freighters. Now it’s just 1-3 multiboxing whole fleets. I think that is a rather sad development.
As I said the logic of doing it was fine, it was just how it got done, please read what I said.
A balance is when developers keep an eye on the game and what people are doing and intelligently adjust based on that, which is like CCP adjusting the bumping timer based on your lot doing a mass walk away…
Just pointing it out.
I would agree with that, still it was an attempt to keep people interested, if it was me I would pre skill new players into HAC’s of their race with decent core fitting skills and leave it at that.
I was involved with Herzog and a few others at that point, but I was not paying that close attention to some of the other players. So I could be wrong, but I hardly saw it mentioned in AG until the group I was with started doing it.
You can’t read anything can you. What you said here is incorrect, that was not my issue.
JF’s are properly balanced imo, they are hard to get true and if the player does the right things he is likely safe baring unforeseen things like lag. That you get a fair number of them is pretty impressive, I rather liked watching Kusion playing cat and mouse with a PL one a while back which jumped into Jita then did a cyno out, most probably with a big brown patch around his undercarriage…
DST’s and the MWD cloak trick, I have been using this for a long time and I have specific fits and all and I have noticed that something was changed about a year ago possibly in it that it made it less effective and widened the time that my tank fits were exposed. Currently only the fits that are setup with inertias and nano’s are able to do it perfectly each time. Personally I don’t think you are trying hard enough.
I might well be in local with this character when it goes down, I am looking forward to your ranting.
There are many ag all over the map that have no involvement with your channel. In fact over the last years I have dealt almost exclusively with such people while the ag channel looks rather dead or just a place to ask if Uedama is camped.
Again something that I would agree with, I for one no longer have the AG chat channel open at all on any of my characters and only one has the AG intel chat open. I have two far superior AG chat channels open.
