Neutron Alpha was probably killing non-compliant miners. A rabble of foul mouthed hostile rock munchers . . . why do you think CODE. didn’t stay and save you? It sounds like Bob was trying but your hearts were black and closed to the light of James 315.
This is why re-education camps are mandatory.
hmh? no, that neutron killed miners which had that copy and paste in their profile the i follow the conduct of the new halaima code zeta zeta, mining permit {enter date here and when it runs out] agent bob the fourth. but that neutron guy shooted even those miners. i believe they even wardeced bobs corp. and called him a fraud. eve uni is present in solitude. they hunted him too lol.
here this is the bob about which i talk https://zkillboard.com/character/95072774/ … he is now according to zkillboard in pandemic horde … lol
So some non-compliant miners died. I still don’t see the problem.
The Code is not a “copy and paste” - it is a way of living - it is a spiritual path. I think you need to give it a chance, Kaabii. It can change your life.
That’s not a problem with EvE, it’s a problem with life. Issues tend to be dealt with more quickly if someone with power and influence starts making noise about it.
Container ships are used IRL because it allows for the cargo to be sorted and stored efficiently. This is perfectly possible to do in EvE, but from what I can tell most players don’t even bother; they just put everything into their cargo hold even though storage containers are basically micro-TARDIS boxes. People will always min-max IRL because their livelihoods depend on it, but folks just playing a game don’t have that incentive.
The can spewing sounds like it might be a good idea, but I’m not feeling very certain of that. Maybe if it only triggered when people used containers to haul cargo and spilled them all into space? If it were coupled with an increased chance of the containers surviving the ship’s destruction I could see both gankers and anti-gankers liking the idea.
Please post the list of these buffs. I’d like to form my own opinions on the subject rather than just taking your word for it.
Uh, why wouldn’t you guys be asking for the HP buff? It seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to do.
Ah, how is this different from being able to use gank a ship worth fifty times as much as the ~ten Catalysts used to do it? (I’m probably wrong about the numbers involved, but I think you get the point.) Is it to incentivize destruction?
There’s balanced and challenging gameplay, and then there’s favoritism. Dracvlad is arguing from the premise that the devs are biased in favor of the gankers, leading to unbalanced gameplay that is more of a disincentive to play a certain way than it is a challenge. Kinda like all the complaints about structure bashing.
What happened to all the other people that would gank freighters with you? Did they leave?
Here’s an idea; make it so skill extractors can’t be used to inject into certain skills, and give them an option to just free up points for reallocation so people can switch over more easily when the meta changes.
Dude, are you trying to make yourself look like an incel?
You don’t seem to understand that CODE. are roleplaying. None of them actually believe that James 315 rules highsec or that they have any official power, that’s just an act. I don’t claim to know why this is the case. You could try asking one of them, but I doubt you’ll get a straight answer.
Apropos of nothing, I think your username is hilarious. It reminds me of Hobbes tackling Calvin whenever he got home from school:
Would you believe I know a guy who gets better at using grammar and punctuation when he’s drunk?
She’s not asking you to write more coherently because she’s a grammar nazi, she’s asking because it is very difficult for us to understand what you’re trying to say. If you want us to engage you in conversation, it’s best to be coherent about it.
I’m one of the biggest alphas who play this game, don’t be mad kid. I won’t judge that you eat tofu with a side of more soy for lunch
Speaking of which, I’ve been meaning to ask one of you guys why you do the whole “Savior Of Highsec” thing. I know James started it when he published his manifesto and doesn’t seem to break character all that often, but what’s the motivation for CODE.'s rank-and-file members? I figure that you guys just enjoy the persona, but I wanted to hear what you had to say on the subject.
Hell, if you have any idea why James decided to go with it, then I’m all ears! I know he wanted to stop AFK mining/hauling and poorly fitted ships, but his reasons for choosing this particular method continue to elude me.
…I genuinely can’t tell if you’re being serious or just ridiculing the bastards.
Eve is mostly a boring game. You can’t do much of anything interesting in highsec. Sovereign nullsec is dominated by some invincible bureaucracies. Wormhole space and low sec are both cool, but really empty.
I don’t have official statistics, but most people seem to be in highsec and refuse to leave. The Code is founded on the idea of making highsec interesting instead of boring. How can you not love that?
The number of CODE pilots has dropped proportionally to the number of players dropped. The fact you spend so much time crying about CODE shows just how relevant they still are.
But please, make another 100 posts about why CODE is not important or effective anymore and why you care so little…I’ll make some more popcorn.
Lucas is so desperate to pretend CODE is no longer an active alliance.
He’s been dunked by us so many times, the wound cuts deep
I’m not asking about the ganking, I’m asking about the “Agent of the New Order” persona you adopt while doing it. That’s the part I’m curious about.
As for not being able to do anything interesting in highsec, I’ve heard the issue described as CCP looking at the data they had and saying “players joining large null groups are more likely to stay with the game, so let’s focus our development around them” instead of “looks like null is doing fine” and improving the gameplay in other areas like high- and lowsec.
I’m fully behind the idea that when it comes to making profit, highsec<lowsec<nullsec, but I’d like it if the things available to do in hisec were more interesting. Hell, some of the folks in E-Uni prefer to use Covetors instead of Procurers when they mine because they need to warp back to a station more often. Yeah, it’s probably not as efficient as using a Procurer, but at least they’re doing something instead of floating in space twiddling their thumbs and waiting for their ore hold to fill up.
TL;DR - profit is a good motivation for people to move onto riskier activities, tedium isn’t.
I thought you had him blocked?
It’s not a persona. It’s not roleplay.
I do.
Hey, Aiko, remember when you posted this?
I liked this because it was an honest explanation of your opinion on the subject being discussed, and I believe it helped me understand you better. Could you please do the same thing here? Because I am genuinely curious about what the appeal of CODE.'s roleplaying is to you and to others, and I want to hear you all tell me what drew you to it.
You keep calling it “role playing.” What do you think that means?
I love Eve and want it to thrive. I also believe that the only way for that to happen is if it is a fun game with player-generated content. This puts me at odds with a lot of people. But I do not adopt a fake persona in order to gank half-asleep miners in highsec.
If I wanted to be completely literal then I would blow the mining barge up and say: “You are a scrub. Get out of highsec and enjoy the game. What you are doing is stupid and it insults the entire premise of Eve. You need to be alert and aware of your surroundings - if you want to mine then go someplace where it is profitable. Do not use highsec as a crutch because it is ‘safe’ - I am here to make sure that it is not safe. If you really, really want to mine in highsec then at least demonstrate that you are cool and put a permit in your bio to show your support for us.”
It is much more whimsical and fun to put the thin veneer of Code Agent on top of that. It changes the message not at all.
Ah, I wasn’t being clear enough. Sorry!
From what I’ve seen, when members of CODE. assume the role of an “Agent of the New Order” they act as if you guys actually run things in highsec and that James became its ruler when he was “democratically elected” by unilaterally declaring himself as such, even though that’s quite clearly not the case.
If it were, then CONCORD would probably be attacking anyone who didn’t obey you guys instead of blowing up your ships whenever you gank someone!
My question is not why you decided to get organized as the premier gankers of EvE, but what convinced you all to adopt the specific persona CODE. players are known for, and which Aiko seems to exemplify.
Fakeedit:
Okay, this right here is the kind of answer I was looking for! Thank you!
CODE enforces the code. They don’t “run” HS.
Actually it is.
Concorde enforces their own set of rules. ie; they ignore FW enemies.
Everyone in CODE probably will answer that differently.
Not according to Aiko.
I know, and I want to hear what their reasons are!
With respect to Aiko, agents enforce The Halaima Code of Conduct, nothing more. That would be like saying the police “run” a city because they enforces that city’s laws.
I hated AFK miners…and AFK mining fleets…ice miners were the worst.
