Ice Prices Dropped

You don’t know how to play the game, ergo, you are not an expert on how to learn to play the game. You should let the adults talk.

Protip: Try undocking, and theorycry less.

Straw man this, straw man that. Straw man pooping in a hat.

A short while ago, I was trying to teach a new player how to get through the basics. Middle-aged dude, couldn’t even understand the concept of pressing a button to open cargo after repeated explanations. Trying to explain concepts like selling an item on the market, or setting a destination in the map, was just met with a blank stare, over and over again.

Quit a week later, and rage-spewed a negative review about the game being “pay to win” and “not new player friendly.”

You guys aren’t on the front lines. You don’t actually have any idea.

Maybe when the alleged adults start acting as if they are. I’ve seen more sense from a bunch of 3 year olds.

CCP is never going to lock new players into an NPE zone. You are just wasting your time crying in the forums, tilting at invisible windmills.

Who said anything about crying ? I’m merely making suggestions to prevent you and Destiny one day ending up all alone in Eve arguing over who is the most entitled old fart.

I did. You are a forum crybaby.

Yes, those happen. No they’re not the norm.

Yes I am.

Playing EVE alone with Aiko sounds absolutely fantastic to me. It could be like our own inception dream world.

The person obsessed with crying is you. I can only assume that’s because you have more experience of it. I wouldn’t waste a single tear over Eve.

Then you should be well aware that the silent grand majority of new players, who do a perfectly fine job of getting acclimated to the game on their own, aren’t the ones who are used by certain lobbies to dictate EVE development policy.

When talk turns to another ganking nerf, or adding safe spaces for new players to sit in for weeks or months to get adjusted to the game, the target audience for those changes isn’t your average new player, but the one who can’t figure out how to lock something after a week in the game.

Where is Mike talking about that or asking for that? Cilly is an idiot, we all know this, so why are you even using that for a real argument I don’t understand and I understand even less why you drag Mike into that.

You’re again making up stories in your head to then argue against it. It’s dumb.

So what ? The exact same character almost certainly existed 20 years ago. You have this truly bizarre notion that older people are suddenly playing computer games. I know old farts who’ve been playing computer games since the early 1980s !

:smirk_cat:

Would that be the front line at Empire station in 1.0 security Amarr…where you sat for 8 years ?

Let’s just go through this really quickly: the tutorials have always taught players how to lock targets as one of, if not the first lessons in the game, and reading mission text is, well, just reading.

Let’s consider what kind of person would be unable to do either of those things, considering the circumstances, and why balancing the NPE around them might not be such a great idea.

But I get more content there in an hour than you’ve gotten in half a year of playing?

Also, I’ve been doing it for much longer than 8 years.

Gotta love the way the people who proclaim themselves the experts on noob experience haven’t actually experienced noob-ness since before the dinosaurs went extinct. Yet somehow these people demand that they know more about being a noob than the noobs themselves ! Yet another of those absurdities that could only happen in Eve.

You mixed up Mike’s point with Cilla’s ramblings and made an argument out of that. GL with that one.

EVE isn’t the only game I play. I’m a new player all the time in many other games and environments.

Ah, you’ve been drinking Exaggeratium flavoured Quafe again.

Me too. The £50 I’ve spent so far on Eve is peanuts compared to what I have spent on other games. I’m having a look into Dual Universe too…heck, what’s not to like about a new game where in 20 years time I can look down on all the noobs
