If CCP cucked Chris Roberts

Scammed into buying bootleg holo-vids.

CODE would be those mall rats that trip little kids and harass old people.

Yes regarding to star citizen eve is indeed tetris compared to a modern game with modern gameplay and graphics…

Eve is outdated and too old to compete…was good at its time but now…the tetris of its time…

No way to see it in another way…

Thats funny, but making games is not a joke. If devs dont want to solve problems each day, then its not a job for them. Thats experience of people who done some great games like MYST and DEADSPACE.

Then modernize it instead of mourning over it…

And wiS was NEVER GIVEN A CHANCE BY CCP…not technically…a small minority didn’t WANTED wiS and opposed against it as they oppose EVERY change to the better and sadly ccp bowed before them(and the work needed to adjust the game to wiS)…

It was a decision of lazyness, not of possiblities…

They had too many projects at once actually. If anything, they have overestimated their success in those possibilities.

Today with 75% of the ccp devs working on pearl abyss games you may be right…in the timeframe we speak about we had another situation.

That is blatant revisionist history. CCP only introduced WiS as a test bench for their WoD engine, all of the grand claims about what WiS could be in the future were empty marketing hype with no substance behind them. None of them would have worked as actual game mechanics, and the only reason they had any chance of existing was that once CCP had the WoD engine putting some EVE art assets into it would have been a relatively low-cost feature addition. But once WoD development died WiS had no further reason to exist.

The simple fact is that the player protests attracted a lot of attention but WiS was already a dead-end feature. The real victim of the protests was WoD, not WiS.

WoD was always is en experimentation phase. Devs were shifted to making EVE Online expansions, even other races CQs. WoD was the experiment that failed badly.

It should have been DUST on PC and EVE Online on PC. Only.

Why does this topic require a vulgar title?

It’s not outdated at all, it’s actually leading other MMO’s in a myriad of ways. But if you feel Scam Citizen is the better game for you then please don’t let me hold you back. Feel free to go there.

You have NO idea what you’re talking about.

Planetside features would be awesome.

Unfortunately CCP as a company are incapable of pulling it off.

Just to be clear, in the beginning almost all players supported “walking in stations” and planetary battles (Dust 514). CCP singlehandedly turned the playerbase against these ideas.

Mourn over what?

Game engines can’t be great at everything. Star Citizen is a good current example of the struggle in trying to have a one size fits everything approach and even they have had to change plans and spin Squadron 42 off as a separate game that they were going to deliver in 2014 and still haven’t.

The idea of just “modernise it” is stupid. EVE’s game engine is being modernised, for EVE. However the challenge in trying to make it an engine that could satisfy the OP’s question isn’t trivial. It’s still technically too difficult currently.

The question for WIS is thus.
What gameplay makes sense in the narrative of EVE that requires it.
I command tens of thousands of crew, why am I walking down to the market to buy a pair of shoes. Why am I crawling through the ducts myself. Why am I not just issuing orders for people to do this for me.

I sculpted a fine ass on my toon. I just wanna see it in motion.

While nice, that’s not a good reason for CCP to develop/integrate an entirely new engine into the game though. Basically WIS is the equivilant of writing an entirely new first/third person game.

No, of course not.

I tried, genuinely.

I will review the rules before my next post.
