Only if it’s heading to a specific location. The ship can head in any direction without pointing at a specific region or structure.
That’s not true. You are lying about Starcraft.
Who said anything about Starcraft? I’m talking about Star Trek.
In both Starcraft and Startrek, ships have to align before warping.
Name one source. Star Trek ships can’t turn while warping, but they can simply jump to warp in any direction.
The ships can literally just push a button and go to warp. Unless you can cite a single source that states otherwise.
Edit: In several episodes, the ship was in a featureless void- absolutely nothing anywhere to lock on to. No structures or stars or… anything. Infinite nothingness and they still jumped to warp. Can’t do that in this game.
Watch the video you posted, Harry had to warp to a celestial that was in line with the spinning ship - they couldn’t warp otherwise.
My source is your own video.
In that ship, Harry didn’t set a course. Tom simply hit the warp buttons.
Think of it like this: The ship was bumped. You’re a ganker. You know what bumping is. In this game, bumping completely ends all possibility of going to warp. Tom literally stopped the spinning by engaging the warp engines. He warped in the middle of a bump.
Again- I know you know what bumping is.
As you know, a ship can only warp in the middle of a bump if it is bumped into alignment with a celestial. Your own logic shows that Harry used the force to help Tom align the ship and warp to a celestial aligned with the auxiliary warpframe.
Prove that there was a celestial there. I’ll wait
They warped to it.
Planet VII, Moon III, of the Agracrouix System.
haha sure. Anyway, I’m bored. I can only carry out a fake argument that makes no difference in the universe for so long. Thanks for the amusement.
So you concede the point.
Very well.
That’s what I mean. Captains don’t usually go to warp willy-nilly, they usually are going somewhere specific. Combat ships aren’t holliday cruise ships.
So exploration means nothing to you.
I would like the ability to just point my ship at nothing and go to warp. At over 8,000 times the speed of light, I’ll run into something new eventually.
It depends, but the Enterprise, although often on exploration missions, rarely travels blindly. It usually goes somewhere specific and usually under the orders of the admiral of the Federation of Planets.
When did I imply otherwise? I’m actually asking… when did I imply otherwise? We almost always drive on roads… doesn’t mean we have to. Our vehicles have the ability to drive in any direction and over grass. Doesn’t mean that ability dictates that we do drive on grass. We still drive on roads.
Here:
The Enterprise rarely goes just anywhere, it usually has orders. The captain is rarely free to take her on a holiday cruise.
And your brain believes that ability dictates action?
So, you want no response when you travel into Klingon space? Try exploring in my WH.
Fail.
My brain has nothing to do with the orders of the admiral of the Federation of Planets.
