Training skills in EVE is like skill training in the Matrix movies.

Imaging Neo, he’s sitting in a chair and to learn a new skill all he needs is a program to teach him that skill and some time to plug it in and upload the skills to his brain.

The difference with EVE is that you are not ‘the one’ or the main character of this story, unlike in many other games, and that subsequently there is no Morpheus to give you the skills for free but that you have to get those skillbooks ingame yourself.

Many skillbooks are easily acquired from rookie missions or bought at starting schools, but some skills will be harder to find and can only be found in certain places, such as specialization skills for triglavian weapons.

You say that like it is a bad thing?

Looks like one less member in the forum.
Oh well, was probably an Alt, isn’t that right, @Mr_Epeen ?

You know we’re all alts here… unless you agree with the trolls, then you’re genuine.

I think I agree with Kahna Sung. This forum isn’t worth my time either.
I don’t even think the game is worth my time, much less the 20e they ask for it.
See you in Elite, looks like you play it too.

Send me message in EVE, let me know who you are in Elite. This whole EVE thing isn’t worth my time either.

See you 'round never, trolls.

I am confused on the difference between running a mission to receive a skill voucher of some kind that I may use to purchase a skill that I want, and me running a mission to earn isk that I may use to purchase a skill that I want.

Or are you proposing specialized missions that I run, a different one for each different skill? That sounds like a significant hassle for both CCP, and a very inconvenient system for the players if they have to find a particular agent to learn a particular skill where there are so many different skills.

I guess I am also confused on exactly what you are proposing instead of just using isk to buy what ever you want.

Not entirely sure either. Maybe a fantasy MMO player who wants to implement a system like: Chop wood ➔ wood chopping skill increases. Use sword ➔ sword skill increases. Just a guess to be honest.

If that is what is proposed not entirely sure how it could work.

Shooting at things increases predictive targeting and other targeting skills? Use a drone drone skill increases and can use two drones and drone damage skills also increase and so on? Sounds like a convoluted mess already.

What about industry skills for example or skills required to fly ships? You can do any production and with use skills increase? You can fly any ship now (including titans) and get better flying that ship? Or you can only unlock from tier to tier so can not fly any ship just corvettes, shuttles and frigates at first then if you fly enough frigate you unlock T2 frigates and T1 destroyer and if you fly that enough you unlock T2 destroyers and T1 cruisers? Sounds like an even bigger mess.

But really doesn’t even have a clue if this is what was proposed or something entirely different.

You need a new script. You’ve used this one too many times. With the exact same lines.

I guess we’ll see you soon on your next temp characters.

I know some of the forum threads have been getting overly fractious lately, and anyone can get tired of that. And of course chances are you’re just venting and not 100% stating you’re leaving.

If I might ask either of you though, what aspect of EVE or the forums is most likely to make you want to drop it and try something else? Not a crucial question so ignore if you wish (or answer in in-game email, I’ve got a number of people who ask me stuff there instead of forums).

I just try to update my notions on what features of EVE attract or detract people from playing, and also what parts of other games people find the most attractive.

Is this supposed to be the same person who was kicked from RvB leadership and had a huge drama about it back then? Or who do you suspect is the original?

Maybe. I don’t pay that much attention to obvious temps. And never remember their names. Just the rhythm of their script.

I could go back through previous iterations and find their posts using the exact same word usage and syntax to link here, I suppose. But there are better things to waste a couple of hours on that would be more productive.
