I calculated that with max skills and 1 drone on each rock, an Orca player can go AFK for 40+ minutes if they target rocks 100k in size.

It was never an intent to put some hard exact number, so I’d be surprised if I did (aside from the observation from experience that I used to be able to go over an hour completely AFK, but it doesn’t look like that is possible any longer).

APM from switching targets is linear with yield. So of course orca has 6 times less APM than a hulk. It’s just math. Your example is useless.

Well, on an Orca i would expect low APM. Because of Drone Yield and Cargo Space.
Especially on larger Rocks (Moon Mining).
(For standard Belts, i shared the Numbers for my own Szenario.)
So APM is just fine for me.
But as already said (not sure if it got deleted):
If the difference in Yield/Time is not big enough between an Orca and a Skiff, we would have to talk about possible Skiff Buffs.
But since that is a “Upcoming Changes to the Orca”, i don’t care about that. shrug
(Or we would talk about buffing Orca Boosts, which would take care of that. Just not in a Solo Szenario)
Nah you are correct here. Orca in general is less APM for the sole reason that it’s less yield.
But now considering the actions for a given volume, since the orca actually puts its drones on the same rock to avoid traveling (so active orca) and needs to move from asteroid to asteroid, an active orca actually needs more actions (since the covetor has lasers it does not need to move after eah rock)
Because otherwise your comparison makes no sense : since the APM is linear with yield then a “better” ship is a ship that has lower yield ? A venture is better than a covetor ?
