A Mining Dev Blog is expected within the next few days. So what do we think the next post-Revenant mining update will contain?
• Larger and more varied rocks?
• Ship improvements/balance passes?
• Null-sec only or improvements to wormhole space, low-sec and high-sec (un-nerfing)?
• Unconventional ideas? ie: rock bounties, mining permits
I’m trying to remain optimistic myself, but leaning towards your assessment. Low-sec and high-sec really need some TLC with respect to mining. Not everyone wants to be a null-sec “cog” or “F1 monkey”.
High sec mining is decent as-is. However, there’s nothing that can be done for low sec. It doesn’t matter what changes they implement. Nothing is going to make any player want to mine in a space comparable to walking through a Detroit ghetto naked at 3 am wearing nothing but ten million dollars worth of gold chains…
Who knows what they adding or changing. But it seems the same people who ruined it is in charge of fixing it. So i dont have high expectations. But lets see.
"CCP listens and responds to you, dear players! A frequent request has been for ‘bigger rocks’ in mining. And we’ll deliver! All asteroids will now be approximately the size of planets, with surface mesh and textures to match. This means you’ll now be able to bump and ricochet off asteroids all day long. In fact it will be almost impossible to move in asteroid belts. What a fun challenge that will be! Enjoy.
(Note: this is a physics and visual change only. Asteroids will still contain the same amount of ore, in order to maintain the value of your play time. You’re welcome.)"
I’d love the chance of some rare minerals to be in HS.
Maybe after you popped an asteroid there could be a small chance of it leaving behind a small rock of Mercoxit or something, nothing big, even a couple of hundred units would help a tiny bit with some low level manufacturing.
Nothing that would make HS independent, but just a nice surprise now and then.
