So I think this has been a thing vaguely for the last month or so. Ship lighting is same as it always has been. All background hanger space is just sort of dark. No obvious artifacting or failure. Neighboring ships in other parking slots are also lit normally.
Just curious if it is a shader problem on linux/radeon/proton or if it got darker for all the people intentionally.
It looks exactly the same to me under windows and linux, so I guess that is just the new look.
That is extremely bright! The background is meant to be black, not blue. Did you accidentally turn brightness up a bit?
Yeah didn’t turn anything up at all. I’ve tried paying attention to backgrounds on streamers and it seems everybody is dark. Used to be able to see a little more in the background; curious if they stopped rendering it entirely for performance a while back, or if they just kept it going and made it more dim.
Definitely not a linux thing. Initially I thought it was a borked shader or something.
Is the light the same in every upwell structure you dock at? Have you tried other structures too?
It could be your structure is in a special state like ‘unfueled’, in which case I would not be surprised if it has less lights on.
I’ve been in a keepstar as it was being destroyed. Low light, flickering warnings and messages that the hull was under attack was an interesting sight.
