Introducing the HyperNet Relay

I would like to see an arena where you could see pvp and blow some isk on it

Good idea.

@CCP_Dopamine Has there been any issues with bugs regarding the hypernet ? As I have won prizes that haven’t turnt up in my items ?

( not troll , being serious ! )

Not sure about everything this has or has not done to the game but one thing I am absolutely CERTAIN of is that it has increased the amount of scam-spam in channels by a horrendous margin. It is ridiculous! All the nonsense spouted about “not having to have it impact your game” seems to have gone totally out of the window. What a shock.

Honestly, this is online gambling so is wrong but on top of that it is just an excuse for Jita Local to invade the other channels.

@Hilmar @CCP_Dopamine what you introduced is gambling. You may veil it as whatever you call it, but important is where this feature leads, where it guides people susceptible to gambling and what (gambling) tools you just implemented into PEGI12 game. Gambling is serious addiction and you misuse it for profit (or maybe survival). Shame on you!! I say this as a long term core EVE player and somebody who love this game.

Feel free to ban me if you have balls, as CCP obviously silenced my main on this forum, since I was critical to CCP.

Well written article on MMORPG with somewhat of a good statement from CCP…

With that said, @CCP_Dopamine @CCP_Convict @CCP_Explorer and co, instead of using MMORPG to clarify some specifics which were raised on this thread, how about you all get your big boys pants on and face the music on your official forums?

Some quick UI suggestions:

  • We should be able to right-click --> see HyperNet Offers from our hangar window and market window. It’s a pain having to manually type in each item name into the HyperNet interface when you have dozens of different item types to raffle.

If not, then

  • Allow us to create a list of items within the HyperNet UI, similar to the “market quickbar”, to allow more quick access to HyperNet offers for those items.

Beside the lack of a game content improvement, it’s implemented pretty bad: not responsive (to different resolutions), no way to filter by keywords (only explicit items), no way to see everything (only shuffle?). Plenty efforts for a feature, whilst the market usability is shitty for traders since decades. It’s not even mentioned in the activity tracker. I always loose my bookmarks when eve patches bigger stuff, can not use drag&drop from my orders into bookmark, I’ve no overview about revenues except I use excel, the market slider is so slow that I can have lunch before an item is moved from right to left, where are the trading news in the game? Even so, at the moment, the views are out of sync, the icons are wrong (I simply can not sell over 30 jumps), and I still can not change quantity for my orders … yeah - gambling was a urgent feature. Add more ways to scam people in EVE. That’s fun for sure.

The changes to the market windows make it even worse. More clicks needed, windows hidden, and the new style … what should improve it exactly?

Those that didn’t give you a like for that link either didn’t read it or didn’t like it!

I skimmed the CSM meeting minutes briefly. Many ( i didn’t read eveyones input ) didn’t approve of the hypernet thing and/or presented concerns for both ethical and legal reasons. Many were trying to wrap their head around it, which I can understand. cough some of them said what the 300 of us have said this entire time.

The folks I know who design slots would laugh at how poor of a gambling interface this is. It would never get to the casino floor. It’s okay for people dedicated to finding good raffle opportunities, but it doesn’t grab and hold attention. This is a time waster, not a dedicated gambling box. You’ll get better instant gratification buying from the regular market. You’ll get better flash and whistle flying missions.
As I suspected most folks will be able to hyper market everything they want using cubes bought with isk.

What part of “American parents” did you not read? Last time I checked, American parents weren’t the only people on the planet. In fact, Americans are <5% of the planet’s population, so… do the math.

Secondly, I was referring to the stereotype of the overprotective parent who won’t let their kid be exposed to sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll. So you’re a parent and you enjoy gambling and video games? Congratulations. Welcome to the 2020s, I guess. You’re not every parent, alas.

You’ve read about Jack Thompson and what he was trying to do to Rockstar Games over GTA and Bully and everything, right? Sure, that was 20 years ago now, and the parents who were getting him to attack video games due to sex and violence are now probably grandparents, but… you do know what SOME parents do to protect the children, right?

“Think of the children” is not just a meme, it’s based on real stuff from the 80s/90s/00s. Hopefully we’re past that in the 10s/20s, but I strongly doubt it.

Indeed. And most of what’s true for America is true for lots of other places, too… with a few exceptions. But anyway… as for the vape stuff, problem is some adults enjoy flavorings in their tobacco as well, and not just menthol/mint. The politicians that want to ban that type of thing because of the children are the same ones that want to ban video games because “only children play them, so these violent games are corrupting our kids.” That type of logic. As if people of all ages don’t play video games these days, sheesh.

Fortunately there’s an easy solution: ban tobacco/vaping/etc for adults as well. Anyone dumb enough to give themselves lung cancer with any of those things is obviously unqualified to make their own decisions and needs to be protected from their stupidity.

You’ve read about Jack Thompson and what he was trying to do to Rockstar Games over GTA and Bully and everything, right?

There is zero connection between that and the objections to F2P cash shop trash and gambling. Jack Thompson is an idiot and a fraud who thought he could turn an imaginary (and now thoroughly debunked) connection between video games and violence into fame and profit. The argument was nonsense from the beginning, attempting to argue that viewing fictional violence would produce real-world violence because of corrupting the morals of the youth or whatever.

The argument with F2P trash, on the other hand, is not about fictional events. Nobody is trying to suggest that it’s a problem for kids to see instances of fictional gambling in a video game. The issue is people, kids included, participating in real gambling using real money. They aren’t just playing a fictional game of poker with imaginary money, they’re paying $20 to the F2P cash shop to buy lottery tickets/loot boxes/etc. And there is real-world evidence of people becoming victims of gambling addiction with these games and spending unhealthy amounts of money on them because they are not able to stop the compulsive behavior.

Ok I will change that to “what kind of America do you live in”. I live in the US and everyone I know plays video games and almost all of them gamble too, children or not. So yeah I guess some people live in their foofy hole where they are skurred of anything their church told them was a vice but I don’t think that is the norm.

not sure why a seller pays twice;

5% listing fee (taken out of the listed price)
1 Hypernode Core ( 10 Plex for 100)

this is for a 3day listing, this isn’t a cheap option no matter which way you look at it.

I have no idea what fees the winner ends up paying yet, maybe someone can advise us on this?!

The winner only pays for their ticket. Nothing more.

that’s great for the ticket winner…

…but sucker for the lister, 5% of price lost to listing fee and then Plex to buy Cores!!!

note:
listing an item for 100mil isk will for you 5mil in listing fees and 14 (1.4 PLEX) in HyperCores.

this isn’t as cheap as we thought, CCP will be making heaps off sellers

These assets had to be moved to a station designated by the DED within a certain period after purchase. Or redeem item should be forwarded to the tab. In this way, you could argue that your job was different from shopping at the market. It’s only a gamble, In other words, then item offering for sale is able to create hundreds of tickets at any price. Here comes a serious fraud and unfair profits. It is necessary to avoid selling the product with a gain of 2 times the market price. When creating tickets for this, it should be avoided to make more profit by exceeding the market price of the product. This etc. an update that will prevent the negative situation needs to be brought urgently.

We NEED the completed Win & Loss HyperNet listings separated or at the very least make them easily distinguished from each other.
and the option to dismiss the losses PLEASE !!!
having to go through each one hitting skip then having to go back into the history tab is a pain in the tail.

CCP what have you done???
your greed will destroy this game.
all locals, all channels are now crawling under spams.
There is no talks, no negotiation, no social interactions anymore.
everyone is fighting for his/her own hyper net offers.
scams are even worse than before now.
wtf really?
Markets and contracts, nothing make sense anymore because of this.
Sure you guys selling more flex and stealing more isk…
But at what cost for the player experience.
Is that what you guys truly want?? because that sucks big time right now.
