That’s not how this works. Evidence is useless. No amount of evidence can make such people question their reality. A “wake up call” doesn’t exist, at least if we ignore the proven method of literally smacking someone when they’re doing or saying dumb ■■■■.
There’s this guy with actual smarts who believes the earth is flat. He created an actually scientific experiment to prove, once and for all, that the earth indeed is flat. Of course he wasn’t just smart, but also too full of himself and too ignorant to consider that plenty of others must have had done the same experiment.
Turns out, the experiment provided evidence that earth isn’t actually flat. His inability to question himself made him come up with tons of reasons why the earth is flat anyway, including literally “magic”.
People probably argue if being unable to question ones beliefs is a lack of intellect or not. I’d say it is, because it’s a lack of a feedback loop. Information comes in, I compare my internal reality with external reality, then adjust my own reality accordingly or look for more information when I don’t perceive my internal reality as accurate enough given the new information.
The rather frightening conclusion is that most people are just mindless drones who run on some rather simple programming. There’s an insane amount of evidence for this:
Since there seems to be some interest in EVE-Offline let me clarify. The average is a calculation of the data points shown in the graph divided by the numbers of data points.
You can see that in the HTML code if you want.
var SerieAVG = 0;
for (var i = 0; i < data.length; i++) {SerieAVG = SerieAVG+data[i][1];};
SerieAVG = Math.round(SerieAVG/data.length);
I can admit that math is not my school major and perhaps I should be using some form of 95th percentile or similar, but really the average is just some extra fluff, feel free to hover the graph for data points instead.
As for only taking the daily max in the monthly graphs, I did in the past as I thought that would be a better way of showing things - but that was also before I changed to the dynamic graph I have now, so now it is no longer based upon daily max.
Here are the SQL queries being used to generate the graphs.
sqlString = "SELECT dbo.ConvertToDateTime(ROUND(dbo.UNIX_TIMESTAMP(STATUS_TIME)/" & dSeconds & ", 0)*" & dSeconds & ") AS STATUS_TIME, AVG(CAST(PLAYERS AS BIGINT)) AS PLAYERS FROM EVE_STATUS WHERE SERVER='tranquility' and STATUS_TIME>'" & (Now+(TZ/24))-dCount & "' AND PLAYERS < 85000 GROUP BY dbo.ConvertToDateTime(ROUND(dbo.UNIX_TIMESTAMP(STATUS_TIME)/" & dSeconds & ", 0)*" & dSeconds & ") ORDER BY STATUS_TIME"
sqlStringAVG = "SELECT AVG(CAST(PLAYERS AS BIGINT)) AS PLAYERS FROM EVE_STATUS WHERE SERVER='tranquility' and STATUS_TIME>'" & (Now+(TZ/24))-dCount & "' AND PLAYERS < 85000"
TZ = server time zone
dCount = Value in seconds for the period I want to generate, so 86400 for a day, 2592000 for a month etc.
I have zero personal interest in “sweetening” the numbers, if any errors or weirdness it is likely due to me making a calculation mistake. Numbers are CCP’s, I just display them.
Nah, the changes are not good for him - no longer semi-afk farming dank isk with nearly no effort. I say this is long overdue.
What competition? The only competition I see coming is Kerbal Space Program 2… Elite Dangerous is a freaking flight simulator in space, and scam citizen is just that - scam.
Scam Citizen? The people behind it still not in jail?
Gotta agree, there was too much farming going on, with nothing being done with farmed assets, which does lead to boredom.
It is better for industrialists. Finally industry is back to being properly profitable. Just takes a bit of brain to make isk there.
Yes, it is great for wallet. My wallet. It was the whole idea behind this change.
That was the whole point - to make it possible to lose ships. Till recently it was almost impossible to lose them in mission. Any proper mission fit was either overtanked or was used by someone that knows extremely well what he is doing (max alpha machariels for scarlett blitz for example).
I am not so happy with them. Was needed due to wardecs being abused, but now we get undeccable corps with 10K+ members. Not that I have solution for that problem - although making them always pay 11% npc tax would be decent for balance.
Do you know why we don’t have big wars nowadays? Because there is no point in having them… for all that matters goons could supply all their needs just from one region. And even then they stated that they are not utilizing even 60% of it properly. I wonder how it is now but I would expect to see mineral squeeze coming in next 2-3 weeks - just after last moons end their regular ore pulls.
You don’t have to. I don’t either. But I will keep my In Rust We Trust skins @CCP When will we get skins from this series fro ships that don’t have them?
He’s still trying to hide my post. There aren’t that many people who are constantly doing this, so I pretty much know who you are.
With 15 Likes, I guess he doesn’t want more people to read it. My guess is that someone, who thinks he knows what the community thinks, doesn’t appreciate when the “community” is actually voicing their opinions. He never really gets any likes.
