Is Eve Dying/Dead?

Not saying you are, just in general.

I am sure many in fact are cursing at that, however.

This would be much scarier.

Eve is like the '55 Chevy or VW Bug that they keep doing their best to kill with feaping creaturism.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, ship skins are Barbie Doll clothes.

The loss of easy Hisec Wardecs makes hisec too safe.

No Eve isn’t dying.

Eve is in solemn place right now as the environment licks its wounds after the Providence event.

What to do with Providence?

Turn it into a NHDSI ( Not Hostile Don’t Shoot It)?

NHDSI is basically High Sec but with standard Null Sec rules.

If you don’t get shot at, don’t shoot first.

Rebuilding Providence using NHDSI should be fun.

Lol…let’s do something with Providence this year folks and keep Eve going.

its definitely dying.

i only came by to laugh at the nerf patch. Back to 1S 3" Baby Tooth w/ 2400mah - how long? - YouTube

Dying, and CCP is helping it.

Well… this Orca stuff made me cancel my Omega subscription. If more people do that… it’s going to hurt.

On the other hand, new players spend more than seasoned players.

Their mission statement:
Our mission is to create virtual worlds more meaningful than real life.

Maybe they should add, for new players who make us money!

Yup it’s been dying since I joined from Anarchy Online back in 2006. Even back then I was warned off from this game because it was going to be dead within a year.

Did you see the updates? It’s really not that bad now.

I saw 10 to 15% boost per skill level? Are there more?

But who seriously goes to all the bother of setting up a 75m ISK Hecate to deliberately lose it ?

Even at just 3 months in, I have way more ISK than I can buy ships with. My total losses from 8 ships is less than 1% of all my ISK, and I have far more ships in dock than I have lost. And yet I’m not about to go out and engage in some conflict I know I will probably lose.

I’d be far more inclined to go out and ‘waste’ ships were it not for the fact that every ‘loss’ gets recorded and hung round one’s neck like an albatross for all eternity. CCP need look no further than that for why people are reluctant to lose ships. Ironically, if there was no record of losses ( maybe kills only ) I think then you’d get a mad scramble of people losing ships. It’s not the ISK. Its not even any sentimentality over ships.

You can practice PvP on a disposable alt, and then switch over to your main when you get to the stage that you’re winning most of your engagements.

Also, a record where most of your battles are solo and you’re winning 66%+ of those engagements would already be very respectable. You’d likely be in the upper tenth percentile of all PvP players at that point.

Remember, out of the 15% or so of the population that engages in PvP in this game, the grand majority of their action is fleet-based, and large fights where you’re one of dozens or even hundreds of parties on a kill mail are inconsequential. If you have a strong solo record, then even if you’re not winning even half of your fights people are already going to be afraid of you.

Yes but then I’m sure as hell not going to be wandering into nullsec in a Condor and typing ‘anyone wanna fight ?’ in Local. And I don’t yet have the skills to run the sort of ship that I’d feel confident would dominate. So although you deride it…yes there is a sense of ’ I’m waiting for skills to update’. And although PvE ratting is not perfect practice for the day when ‘proper’ PvP comes…it sure helps.

You don’t say anything. You just find and kill.

Also, while not in a Condor, you can do really well in something like a properly-fitted, damage-forward Incursus or Merlin.

Well, in a few days my Character 2, who has only skilled for combat and no mining skills, will have the Hecate all ready to roll. Though I feel it may be a little akin to Captain Oates ’ I’m just going for a little walk…'…but I may even enjoy watching it blow up, and at least it will make a change from Condors on the losses list.

Announce in local, “I am now the ruler of this system” and then cloak up. Then watch the scramble as the nullbears scramble to dock up as quick as little bunnies.

You shouldn’t start with a Hecate.

Start with a frigate, or a T1 cruiser.
