the main reason why ccp can do what they want is that there is no competition by a similar game. If there was a game like this, i bet many players would have switched games a long time ago

This reminds me of a story. My uncle had a little pine tree in his front yard. He never watered it, so it looked brown and sickly. I went back to his house years later and it was a huge green tree. I told him that I always thought the tree was dying. My uncle, typically grumpy, pointed at the tree and told me obviously it wasn’t dying, since it didn’t die.
Would it hurt CCP to water the tree instead of pissing on it? 
Actually the tree was dying then, and is still dying now. You simply misjudged the rate of progression.
EVE has been dying since it was first released - it’s just not dead yet.
Clearly, some years it’s dying at a faster rate than others. Generally those are the years where CCP decides they need to ‘fix’ something.
If anything, Eve is growing. More instanced content, more ships, more skins, more steps in the supply chain…
People aren’t referring to content, but the number of players logging in, which has been decreasing. I still stand by my opinion that a large portion of this year’s loses have been due to international events and not due to CCPs actions.
There was a sudden drop in player count, but it has been very stable for months now.
Agreed, although more like 2 drops (1 larger and another smaller one later), but still in line with certain events outside of the control of CCP.

I think the problem with competition is current game companies are no more capable of creating a game similar to original Eve than current car companies can make a '55 Chevy.

It is really funny when the car companies attempt to re-create one of their classic cars. The remakes really highlight the complete soullessness of the modern business world. The Ford Thunderbird remake, the Nissan 300ZX remake, and the Volkswagen Beetle all come to mind.

I wear shoes. They are a great invention when walking on grass to stop it touching your feet when in the country.
