When SWG shut down it was sad.
What’s more sad is the jedi killed the game 
Our modern concepts of “good” and “evil” have been honed over time to simply represent the interests of the rich and powerful. It does not surprise me that people who identified as in-game do-gooders ended up causing trouble. I don’t know the details of SWG, though.
Basically when they introduced the jedi, it was a ridiculous grind that actually spiraled the game down.
Before that, the game was thriving.
Also predictably the jedi/sith became insanely OP.
I’m talking able to kill 20 fully leveled players, solo, and could return from the dead like baby Amarr Jebus.

It was rebel vs imperial.
I was a rebel
I regularly raided the imperial hospitals and killed them while they were healing.

I would also kill them while they were doing faction missions
I’d hide in the NPC stucture, so on radar they’d think I was just another mob inside.
Then when they ran in, all they saw was a big red Trandoshan who then Teras Kasied them into the ground
83% of the noobs you killed quit the game afterward. Good job griefer, you single-handedly killed the game.

Heh. It was good times. I had a catch phrase and everything.
Then one morning, I woke up and almost the whole server had randomly switched to Imperial, including good friends.
That was a sad day. Then I’d solo raid Theed alone, killing as many as I could until finally being killed.
That is the thing about empires. They tend to assimilate everybody.
Yea it was rough. Then the jedi/sith thing just icing on cake.
It took 20 of us to put one dude down. Then he literally brought himself back from the dead and then killed all of us

Each imp could control 3 AT-STs and there was no effective counter

dying? no. Eve is THRIVING. we have reached all new heights of the largest space battles ever. also a new player count ingame record. and theres tons and tons of media news outlet articles about eve right now.

If this is the case then I would much rather sit and watch the New Eden Asteroids slowly rotate while I am extracting their vitamins.
