The moderators are probably having bets on how long we could go on with that.
I think it also likely that the moderators are enjoying watching us expend our energy in largely futile attempts to address the question posed at the top of the thread.
Whatever we say, the decision will rest with those far above our investment grade.

If people start doing it as a thing or someone does it too regularly don’t think the more organised gankers won’t have a response to that.
Very little in the game is truly new - a lot of stuff just goes around in circles over the years.
Except we’re speaking “elite” in terms of pvp as gameplay goes, not “elite” isk generation.

LOL, not really, as far as blobs are concerned it’s on the same level.
Of course this applies only in the situation when Blob engages a single defenseless target …
Also, Concord is piss-easy to game once you know its predictable and written mechanics.
However take nullsec/lowsec blob v blob, or small gang v small gang, or even elite solo player vs gang, or 1v1 duels, all those cases require a much higher skillset to pull-off successfully, because all of them bring up unpredictable situations, and oftentimes a lot more is at stake on the field than a couple shitty HS afk miners and a few catalysts …

I just can’t stand HS gankers comparing themselves as Elite pvpers… it just hurts me, right in the feels, because the reality is far, so far from it.
And because it paints such a shitty picture of Eve pvp in general by this comparison.

My own point of view is that PvP = Player versus Player. Let’s get that out of the way first.
A gank is then, according to that definition, a PvP encounter.
When the encounter is also Player versus CONCORD, Player versus Faction Police, Player versus Anti-Ganking crowd, Player versus Anyone Else Who Wants To Take a Pot-Shot at a Red Flashy - well, you can see, at least from my standpoint, that it can only be described as ‘elite’ - and honourable PvP.
Ok so, theres no good nor bad pvp, only pvp then. Got it.
Bare in mind that’s also a standpoint used by bad pvpers, to sink ALL of pvp engagements into a generality and hide their scrubby and meaningless engagements.
I oneshot a Velator yesterday, that’s pvp, yea, but the fact even a brain the size of a cricket could do it, is where my argument stands.
A brain-stimulating engagement, it was not.

Terms are important, here. I’ve heard it said that ganking is not PvP. Since you seemed (to me at least) to be heading in that direction with your comments, I sought to clarify the issue.
Having accepted that ganking is PvP, we can of course argue about its description by me as ‘elite’.
Ganking is not primarily an academic pursuit, so the parts of the brain devoted to that worthy cause are unlikely to be much relied upon. Size does not matter. The brains of human females are smaller and lighter than those of males, yet no valid inference can be made from such a comparison.
Google informs us that ‘even a relatively simple organism such as a cricket still has a brain containing up to a million neurons’. Enough to chirrup, but not perhaps sufficient to execute a successful Highsec gank.
Highsec ganking is elite PvP; your argument is refuted. I do not find such engagements ‘scrubby and meaningless’.
If the tussle with the velator was not a stimulating encounter, why do it?

How would you know? And yes, there is a counter. Everything should have one. Doesn’t mean the tactic is useless. I love how ya’ll get exposed with the sophistry. You basically just want hi-sec immune from ganking. At least just be honest about it.
It certainly isn’t meaningless for the targets. All forms of PvP are valid. From large scale tactical engagements to straight up getting ganked in high sec. The sooner pilots learn the frontline is everywhere, the better.

If she’d humbled up and treated it as another facet of Eve’s pvp, that’s fine, but to call it Elite ? ■■■■ off.

I once fought a dangerous “Magpie” MTU. It was a fight for the ages. Verily, I blapped it. I was told by people who witnessed it that it was akin to watching a star being born in all of it’s unspeakable glory. I was given the highest honors and awarded the title of Tractor Smacker by all current Empires.
