Dracvlad is aware zkillboard data does not support his agenda, which is to nerf ganking until nobody ganks. Therefore, he has to pretend there is a mysterious group of gankers, somewhere out there, which is not linked to zkillboard.
You have a very odd mindset, telling someone that not all gankers update Zkill gets translated by you as there being a mysterious group of gankers running around, like little hooded ninjaās. How amusingā¦
Whatās really amusing is that youāre actually wasting your time responding to a troll.
Remember, donāt feed the trolls
Aiko can be funny, she gave the corpse of a miner as a birthday gift to an AG player. I donāt reply to every one of her posts directed at me, just the odd one, now and again.
@Dracvlad
Could you summarize the specific changes you are proposing --if any-- and which of them are buffs/nerfs, please? Iām a bit lost in near 2k posts. A straight and simple list would do. Thanks
I did it above, but it is good to think about it again especially after having an exchange with some people above. That exchange is interesting because in spite of it all I got the sense that some people are really concerned that CCP would badly nerf ganking.
Do remember that I am looking at this as an AG player and being focussed on a diversity of player type being Eve players.
- Freighters are too easy to kill and due to their size it is just a matter of know what to bring and you will kill it +1 play at its worst. My first port of call is to give them a fitting choice like other ships, the BS MWD is to make them quicker and less of a sitting duck. I am not sure that I would call that a massive buff, but just a minor buff to options, in fact maybe more people will take a risk trying to get throughā¦
I have often wondered if better fitting options for their shield or armour would be a good idea because RR does not work well on ships whose main defence is structure.
- The spectrum lock breaker module was perfect as a module for reducing this certainty, but I was a little concerned it would be too OP. The Signature Radius Suppressor is worthless as it will have no impact on the ships used as the freighter is just too big anyway.
I would be happy with number 1. only.
- In terms of -10 gankers, I would suggest that they either not be able to dock in NPC stations completely or perhaps have a period of time that they cannot dock in them due to criminal actions. Objective to create the need for ganking HQās which are more important than just perches and are worth attacking to interdict their efforts.
That would be a nerf to ganking as it would increase the entry cost, but would be a buff to war decs. As competitive indy has pretty much a similar requirement I am not so sure why it would be a big thing.
- Something needs to be done about loot scooping through worthless ships, but it is truly a difficult one.
I do not see any reason to change the existing ships much at all apart from what I detailed. People can pick and fit mining ships that are difficult to gank but lose yield, which is fine, an Orca while difficult to gank is easy to bump. People can fit haulers, and DSTās to do the mwd cloak trick if you are an omega so that is fine.
Without unlimited time bumping ganking overall is actually in a pretty good state of balance but the freighter is the one weak spot.
Something is either statistically significant, or it is not.
I am sure there has been one or two random ganks, where a ganker might have accidentally forgotten to upload the killmail. However, is this statistically significant? If not, why are you mentioning it?
Since you mentioned it, we can only assume that you believe there is some SIGNIFICANT group, which is ganking a SIGNIFICANT amount, and yet they arenāt uploading SIGNIFICANT killmails. Who are these people? Where are they?
I think you are just exaggerating, as you always do.
Ghuyfvhutg.
At least Iām happy.
Understood.
In essence, you propose freighters to be buffed --by any means-- in order to increase HS gank survival.
I always ponder on flying a Freighter just at the moment I tally the load size and that there is a Pipe on the way --of courseā.
Those are the times I remind myself āsomething is wrong with this ship!ā⦠Iāve participated on Freighter ganks. The failed ones occurred for not having ennuff gunpowder, there is no other reason. Hence why the quite harsh Corp rules on HS Freighters --but I guess and welcome others to elaborate on thatā.
I consider myself the perfect candidate for owning a Freighter, specially when at my in-game age and experience I have little time, patience and stamina for doing all the homework āwhile stillā getting that gut feeling --not meaning I donāt do itā. And my experience dictates that it is a magnet for trouble, not that it is a great idea or even an in-game tool for a pilot like me to engage in commerce for example, when I simply wanted to move stuff Iāve unwillingly hoarded around over the years.
Freighters are a bait, a misleading ship description, a trap, a legal scam⦠I could call them any name.
Iāve been unable to tidy up my hoarding for avoiding flying a Freighter through a pipe.
What you propose is plausible. I cannot say I second the methods you idealize but yep. You have my ok on the Freighter issue.
I would never⦠under current circumstances, move such elephant around gankersā fields. Not even with my friends, for Iāve ganked peeps with many friends as well. Still, Itās been quite a while and some stuff has changed. I guess Itās not my game to establish an inquiry on all the ifās and orās, coulda, woulda bull crap when for a fact, I know there is no true way at my reach in consonance with the values I really need to transport. And honestly, I donāt give a f**k if itās good or bad for any entityās economy.
Freighters are definitely not for me, but they should. And that is bad for the game. Iām sure there are countless in my situation.
By no means Iām saying ganking is bad. Freighters require attention.
Clearly, Kellie, you must have been cast from the same mould.
In fact, The Princess Aiko is a welcome and refreshing visitor to these threads. Even her gain-sayers find amusement in some of her observations.
She doesnāt need me to defend her, of course, but Royal Protocol does make it difficult for her to be as candid as sheād like.
Cut the gal some slack, hun.
O dear, I seem to have lapsed into the vernacular.
Gghudfjjh.
This shouldnāt be hard?
(Assuming youāre talking about worthless suspect ships that can steal loot and put it in nearby haulers that arenāt suspect:)
CCP can just make it impossible for suspect pilots to put items in the fleet hangar of a ship that isnāt suspect. As a result if people want to steal loot, theyāll have to haul the stuff in a suspect-flagged ship.
Iām no expert at high sec rules, can anyone tell me if that would work?
Now, that is asset destructibility!. +1
You have to pay for that. One billion isk.
Yes, This is eve. Eve was always supposed to be harsh. You can avoid HS ganking if you want to.
Unfortunately day by day this game is being altered and catered to the safe space culture. Soon we will be left with nothing.
Fghutdvhhg.
When you first arrive in-game, itās like being an 8 yo at a shopping mall. Everyone and everything is bigger than you. After flying about, looking at the sights and engaging in game mechanics, you get smashed by somebody with vastly greater knowledge, skills and experience. You look at the keyboard and screen and have no idea what to do and then you are floating in space, a meat popsicle. After several renditions of this, frustration and resentment towards the experienced players with vastly greater force of arms sets in. But soon you learn avoidance and steadily improve skills, ability and equipment.
After a year in, I now have a bit of context. The title of the thread asks: āIs Hisec ganking good for the game?ā It is too easy to conclude Hisec ganking is NOT GOOD FOR FOR ME as my ship burns away but ever present danger makes this game and Hi-sec would be insufferable as a land of Smurfs and unicorns.
Never thought I get to that frame of mind, but there you go. In Eve you are not entitled to go about without risk of being separated from your ship and cargo. Itās not like anyone changed the deal, those were the terms from the beginning. Well you can stay in station, you can follow CONCORD around in circles at gates to avoid gankers but thatās about it.
Lastly, Iāve even acquired an appreciation for queen @Aiko_Danuja.
Wormholes offer opportunities both ways. For instance hauling wise (maybe not so much if you are a daily hauler). If you have the time and patience and characters and/or a amenable corp and/or you are set up in a wormhole with freighter (if necessary) size high sec or low sec connections and utilise the quiet periods of day you can almost always get a hole nearby to bring haulers/freighters in avoiding the ganking hot spots, usually wonāt have to wait that long until you have a connection that gives you a backdoor into your destination minimising the chance of encountering gankers. One of the ways I managed to avoid being ganked when I played.
(Also much harder for the gankers to counter than things like attempts to manipulate CONCORDās response - which any experienced ganker will have seen before and be perfectly capable of adjusting for).
Obviously not so helpful for new players if they are getting ganked right out the gate before theyāve even learnt to walk.
MS. McCALAMITIE!!!
ONE SIMPLY DOES NOT SPEAK OF HER ROYALNESS REGENT IMPERATRIX PROTECTRESS AIKO IN SUCH AN INSOLENT AND LOWBROW MANNER!
My goodnes⦠*tsk tsk
