Is this harassment?

Since when can you activate a smartbomb in highsec?

Turn your safeties to red and you can, it seems.

The fact that you need to turn your safeties to red may be a warning that it’s not a safe thing to do if you do not want to get Concordokken.

Put another billion isk on my bounty and I will tell my alt to stop following you. Oh, and you also need a mining permit - 10 million isk for each of your alts.

I never pay extortion fees, I can mine rocks anytime I never have the problems I keep reading about, this can only mean from my perspective, some people just suck at puzzles, a lack of seeing the big picture, there are plenty of risk free mining it doesn’t have to be null sec.

When compared to the scene in “Life of Brian”, I’d say a person does have the right to say “they’re harassed”. But there cannot be any in-game consequences to a person proclaiming they’re harassed. If there would be consequences, reporting people for harassment would become part of the PvP metagame in that case.

I think that’s also the point that Solstice_Projekt is trying to make: once we get in-game consequences when a person ‘feels harassed’, ‘feeling harassed’ will become part of the tools usable for PvP. And that’s not something I’d like to see in EVE.

This is what I tried to get to!

I’ve only seen it once, iirc. It’s the one where they make fun of Jesus, right?
Also lol at the rest. wtf is this nonsense.

I’m from Austria.
You know, the one directly and indirectly responsible for both World Wars.

Always a fun fact to mention.

Fun Fact:

Australian english is to english pretty much what Austrian german is to german,
though we don’t sound mentally handicapped when speaking it.

And we don’t shorten literally everything.

That is amusing.

Australian culture and language use is charming (and challenging). I would very much like to visit there someday. Austria is a simply wonderful place.

Possibly you are thinking of regular bombs? “smartbomb” is a stupid name for energy pulse weapons anyhow…

That’s what you seem to be misunderstanding. He’s not “disrupting his ability to play”. He’s just using how he plays to kill him. The dude can easily stop that form happening through any number of existing mechanics.

It’s not the GMs job to make sure you get to play exactly how you want to play, if that conflicts with how other people choose to play the game. The mechanics and rules are already in place to let the players resolve this between themselves.

Only a noob would think that. Are you a noob?

The mechanics and rules have been pushed since day one by cheaters trying to gain an advantage. Compare today’s game mechanics with those of the past. They are vastly different due to having to constantly update to keep the cheaters and the like under control.

No, that’s not what he’s writing and I’m not denying it that it’s subjective.

What he’s writing is that when someone feels harrassed it is indeed harrassement. If that’s not what he meant, then he didn’t really write what he meant, because his words expressed “when someone feels harrassed, then he is being harrassed.” and that’s simply not always the case.

Subjective reality does not trump actual reality. Just because someone feels harrassed doesn’t mean he really is being harrassed. That’s what he wrote, though, and that’s what I’m talking about.

… and I’m not going to dive into Solipsism here.

I am feeling harrassed by all the eyes staring at my torso! CCP needs to ban all those creeps who keep looking at my body! I am being oppressed!

Uh … sure, mate. If you say so.
I’m convinced you’re a lot smarter than I am.

Absolutely not, you might feel you are being harassed, but other people have rights as well - they have the right to play the game, or shop at a local store, and if that makes you feel harassed, you need to get therapy because you do not have the right to force them to ‘stop’. You are just going to have to deal with it, or check into a psych ward - or, in this case, you could just stop pretending like this is harassment.

It sounds like what you are saying is that one player should submit to being forced to play a certain way by another player, that they should pay 14.95 a month to play the way someone else dictates to them. Is that what you are saying?

It is not harassment to play a PvP video game and engage in PvP.

If you can’t handle it, then you should uninstall the game.

Meaningless talking point # 348.

Persistent PvP is allowed in a PvP game.

If you don’t like it, your choices are to

  1. accept it
  2. play the game
  3. quit

Yes, you can waste CCP’s time with another meaningless report, after doing that you can return to your options which are as follows:

  1. ignore PvP, and face the consequences
  2. learn to PvP
  3. quit the game
