January 2018 Release - Known Issues & Issue Reporting

Can you please fix the issue with the new reloading mechanics that ammo goes into an available stack of ammo and does not land as individual stacks from the individual guns in the cargohold. Thanks.

Hi,

Since the pah update on 15th I am unable to connect to the tranquility server. I get this error on the debug.log
"
[0118/161908:ERROR:resource_bundle.cc(720)] Failed to load D:\GameArea\EveOnline\Launcher\resources\qtwebengine_devtools_resources.pak
Some features may not be available.
"
I have reinstalled the Eve Client and cleared all caches before testing it again with the same results.

Try looking for expanded error message in an application logs:
control panel / administrative tools / event viewer > windows logs / application
It may explain the situation - maybe you have direct-x / visual-c libraries damaged or you running out of system resources like free virtual memory / disk space or your system disk have an errors in the file allocation table.

In the meantime, you should do what so many incursion runners do: disable post-processing in the graphics options. It takes away the sepia-toned/sickly greenish-yellow background present in all incursion systems and lets you see the natural beauty of whatever space you’re in instead. Should make that text more visible no matter if it stays as it is or returns to the old look.

I’ve noticed this as well, and only since January 9th… so even if it was a preexisting issue, I was never affected prior to the latest big update.

In my case, it’s a pair of Vargurs with tech 2 800mm autocannons… and yes, split into 2 groups of 2 guns each… and I keep firing and firing on enemy ship hulls even as they burn, explode, and are nothing but a wreck left behind. But yes, it’s not using ammo and it’s not doing damage to anything, thankfully.

I don’t see “show only available agents” or alike filter options anywhere in the agency.

I also don’t see show only high sec, or low sec, or ns agents, or even sort by sec status or alike option.

If they are in there they’re hidden under too much crap to access and are too obscure. If not they need to be added.

The total number of agents listed needs to be less limited, the agent list itself, needs to be on a separate, scalable UI element in relation to the rest of the agency / ui to better accomodate wide range of resolutions / display types.

Anybody else seeing a lot of odd color and resolution distortion errors with colored text/labels? Some icons (especially red ones) are also low-res as well, like it’s bad anti-aliasing or something. Blue’s and white’s are fine, but red’s look like poop. Green text in fitting/ghost look bad and red text is even worse to the point that it’s almost illegible. I’m running at 1440 with 100% UI scaling.

Edit: Colors themselves might need to be looked into as well: text that is suppose to be yellow, for instance, looks more brownish than I remember. Similarly, colored text like red text looks to be much deeper red, exacerbating the legibility problems.

I’ve reinstalled my video driver (tried 390.65, which causes frame hitching not related to Eve, and went back to 388.31) and cleared cache to see if that might help, to no effect. Even tried loading a default overview file since I’m using a customized XML type, figuring maybe that could help. Still no effect.

Is it intended that I cant search for Storyline agents anymore? They aren’t on The Agency anywhere I looked and the only other way to find them was the agent finder.

Try this

It is a much better tool to query CCP’s data than CCP’s own tool (The Agency).

Can CCP please fiy the issue that Incursion hue effects persist outside Incursion constellations? I just logged in in an incursion constellation and left it, but the hue persists even 3 systems outside. Not even turning Post Processing off and on removes it.

Why is it when I click on a standing change notification that the character window always shows the first faction in the list instead of showing the faction from the notification I just clicked?

So i just noticed something odd about the in-game color issues I refered to a few days ago: I take a screen shot, then open the resulting PNG file found in “Documents\EVE\capture\Screenshots”. You know what I see?

Seems fine, right? Thing is, when I took this shot in game, you couldn’t read anything in red at all. Even the orange text to the right was muddied and blurred. And to make things even more fun, as if on cue, when I alt-tabbed back in game, the entire game image corrupted, similar to how Diablo 2 would invert its color settings on modern OS’s. Took a picture of that too, several in fact…none of which shows the color corrupting. By now, I’ve swapped out cables and monitors, though I doubt this is a hardware issue since it’s just in Eve. Not sure who I have to thank for this: CCP? NVidia? MSI? Asus?

At this point, between this and all the other messes recently brought into the game, I’m starting to think it might be time to hang up Eve for a while until things hopefully get sorted out.

As some others have reported, I am also getting situations where my weapons don’t stop animating/sounding after use. In one case, I had (briefly) the effects playing twice per cycle once I started them firing again, though this cleared up after 1 or 2 cycles. Unlike other reports, I can’t link this to multiple-weapon-group situations, but it HAS taken place when using both guns/launchers and drones. From this, I suspect that the problem may be linked in some way to the target dying due to action from an alternative weapon system (be it a separate weapon group, weapon type, or drones) while the affected weapon group is cycling - perhaps it then “doesn’t realise” (so to speak!) that the target is no longer present…

The new Agency way of viewing incursions does not show you how much LP you have accumulated in a focus. (The old incursion list showed that).
Only way to find out how much LP you have in a specific focus is now to go to the LP Log in the Journal and add them all together manually which, with a few hundred of entries, can be quite exhausting.

Can we please add the total amount of LP you have accumulated to the focus in The Agency?

Why is there no option “Reaction Jobs started in the last 24 hours” in the map?

Re: Finding a Mish Agent using the Agency

Hi, I don’t really care much about Agents as my time in Hi Sec is only a temporary transition, but I just thought I would mention a few things that really flustered me right off the bath when I attempted to find Agents with the new Agency UI.
Perhaps it seemed flawed because it’s still a work in progress, but it sure seem to me more like a work in regress instead.

– The map:
1- My 1st thought was: Why do I need another map here?

2- Then I thought: **Great I can choose a system to see which Agents are available to me around there! ** Not
Wouldn’t it be fantastic since there is a map, to be able to use it to find available agents at the location I choose on the map without having to fly there?

2.2- The map would actually be useful if it had labels showing the names of the constellations and systems as it does with regions as one zooms in.

2.3- We also would need a search function to quickly find a system of interest.

3- Resize bug - resizing the window causes the map to center on the edge when clicked. (well, seems it doesn’t always do that, I restarted the agency and now it centers properly on resize.)

– Filters: missing or hard to find.

We really need to add a wider variety of filters to avoid displaying undesired Agents - as it does currently, only 3 to 6 of 12 agents max displayed are useful (that is really lame).

Filters needed:
1- System Security Status Level (exclude Low Sec)
2- Standings availability.

– Display Capacity.
We really, really need to add way more than 12 slots in the list of Agents.

Well it’s all I can find for now, still a nice effort as it has a lot of potential yet far from there.

I realise that I might just not know how to use it properly, then again my point exactly - no menu (options), and no instructions (as with most of this game’s mechanics).

Sincerely,

JC

Wouldn’t this be displayed from the Industry window jobs tab?

Not really. It’s a maps statistics like “ME Research/Manufacturing/Invention Jobs started in the last 24 hours”. The only option I could find on the map was “Reaction system cost modifier”.

It’s bad enough that this filter is not available in the old map, but that it’s not even available completely in the new map is worse.

The Incursion chat channel still resizes an existing chat stack when you log in in an Incursion area.

Please bring back the agent finder. This agency finder is limited and slow. There are thousands of agents that i cannot see. Just knowing where all the specific corp agents are across the map is useful. If I want to jump 40 sectors to say run a specific mission for a new NPC corp I cant find them now. Where are all the research agents? There is just over 100 Caldari L4 security agents alone and I can’t find them anymore. Anyone who is looking for a good spot to run missions for L4 agents will have a hard time finding a good area to play in. The Agency is a horrible replacement for something that already worked flawlessly.
