well im glad i started training into macharial in preparation for this because my pve proteus got nerfed pretty bad
worst thing is i just trained t2 medium drones for my proteus and now i cant even use them
knew i shoulda trained a pilgrim instead of a proteus

no i have the hybrid encoding platform which has 50m drone bay and 25m bandwidth
formerly i had the hybrid propulsion armature which had a 75m drone bay and 50mb bandwidth

The proteus wasn’t a good pve platform to begin with, the Tengu is much better (I head it wasn’t changed too much), and maybe the Loki now, haven’t checked the stats today though.

i prefered proteus for a number of reasons
not so much anymore
its been nerfed in every way except now its cap stable and aligns a little faster

I’m curious as to how the subsystem removed from fit T3’s was allocated. It seems to be very random and not at all consistent.
3 Tengus, all with the same electronics subsystem yet 2 of the 3 got a defensive subsystem in cargo while the 3rd got what is now called a “core” subsystem…

I’m not sure why you’d expect an offensive subsystem to give a tank, but the definitely are Defensive subs that do. Perhaps you mean that the maximum tank is not as big as it was previously?

Another massive petpeave is why the heck was the capacitor recharge rate replaced with Capacity? Capacity is pointless without the ability to recover it and honestly what the hell is with the Augmented Graviton Reactor only giving +50 capacitor capacity as an additional stat? I mean what logic went behind these changes? Perhaps someone could explain this insanity to me since the changes are being forced down our throats tomorrow.

Bonus capacity translates to bonus recharge because the time required to recharge the capacitor doesn’t change. So if it takes me 200 seconds to recharge 1000GJ and I increase that to 2000GJ then I’ve doubled my recharge rate.

You can see this clearly if you open up the in-game fitting tool (or Pyfa) and throw some cap-hungry module on a ship followed by a Large Cap Battery.

More capacity also has the added benefit of more buffer and a longer duration to burst cap until you hit peak recharge and have to start rationing, which can be quite useful if you’re fighting from ambush and expecting the fight to last at most a minute or two.

I was never a math wiz, but I’m pretty sure a Tech 3 cruiser should hold more potential than a Tech 2 cruiser. Would make sense to me that they are pushing the capabilities of T3Cs up to allow (hopefully) breathing room to make changes/nerfs/buffs to the outdated T2 cruiser remnants

This is the exact opposite of what’s happening and your logic is pretty flawed here. T2 ships have been pressured by T3Cs because they’re too far up and stepping on too many toes with their high performance in a number of areas.

Thus they’re getting nerfed and pushed away from those T2 roles they’re stepping on the most heavily.

Buffing something that’s already OP and extremely dominant is the exact opposite of a good way to make space for other hulls.

I think CCP should think about that idea. Many capsulers feel cheated with the changes and would love their SP be allocated somewhere else. At least they should give pilots the opportunity. A simple in-game question: would you like to reimburse all the T3C SP? Yes/No.

But at least they can be used with T2 Cruisers, if you are into them somehow. And T3C are just dead-end.

nah not really into cruisers they all suck except pirate cruiser and pilgrim

I’m afraid this is not at all a simple idea, and won’t be an option that we’ll be pursuing at this time. Ships are always subject to change, and the Tech 3 balance pass is one of the most telegraphed balances in recent memory (It’s been talked about for a few years now and this specific task has been ongoing for months, with input from the focus group, CSM and the wider community). This is without even mentioning the fact that you are able to remove the skills yourself through the use of skill extractors.

We understand that any balance pass will have negative effects for at least some pilots, and while we always try to minimize this where possible, changes must be made for the overall health of the meta, and its impossible to please everyone.
