This is the thing im not bitchin on eve because i hate eve, (I love eve) , Im bitchin because i dont want somebody else to spend a fortune in money and time and then get screwed over. where the publishers con the crap out of you. (EVE is wonderful, or Was) CCP is ■■■■.
Watching Loki’s part of the keynote again, now I’m wondering if they didn’t just kind of bury the lede. He hints that the arcs might involve new ships, for example. The blog post highlights arcs first and says they start the next few months. Maybe that is the content they were talking about, and they just didn’t do a good job explaining it?

Okay, you certainly know more about programing than I do, but I have watched a few videos that make me honestly wonder if there’s something to this. For example, here’s a video of a guy that programed an A.I. to get better at playing a game. And there was a racing game that came out a few years back that apparently featured an NPC A.I. that learned from players (unfortunately, I can’t remember the name, and am having trouble finding videos of people evaluating how well it worked). Regardless, buzzwords and tech industry hype aside, it does seem like there might be something to evolving NPC A.I., and I am extremely interested to see if this goes anywhere. It might be able to provide similar challenges and rewards to playing against a human opponent while avoiding the frustration that comes from some of the other ways devs try to increase challenge (i.e. tedious bullet sponges, RNG that can make players feel like winning has less to do with skill, but more to do with the luck of the draw, a.i. that “cheats” [i.e. Mortal Combat reading player inputs in order to immediately counter them], and surprise dangers that require prior knowledge in order to avoid).

Huge letdown. Not worth the extra $5 per account.
I’m not a vindictive space karen trying to sabotage other people’s fun -I swear. That’s what the people who leave bad reviews and move on do. I stick around and keep complaining because that’s how much I care about informing players so that they can make smart purchasing decisions.
