Keynote Chat

Yeah because having a corp full of people fighting for all different factions makes so much sense.

It totally will not get gamed.

Probably the worst bit of the Keynote was when they started showing concept art of cities on planets and ships flying around them, the dev started talking literally about cities, and then it all come to nothing. It was just a pretty dumb way to talk about the station upgrades.

It felt like the run up to a big announcment but was instead a massive let down.

lol what were you expecting, a revival of WiS, were you genuinely expecting that?

Because that ship sailed years ago lol

Yeah. They are actually just spheres. The Vexor and the Stabber are the same shape. The underlying values table and flags determine the qualities of the “ship.”

There are a ton of ships multiplied by a ton of different fitting options already.

Any new ship should really fill a niche need. Triglavian mining ship, indeed. Nah. The Noctis filled a niche (until the MTU invention). The Epithal has a purpose. Stealth bombers do that thing. Booshing destroyers was a cool idea. Etc. But just more ships that are mostly the same as other ships, but “cool looking” are more cognitive load for no real game play purpose.

Take that red pill. See. They’re all just spheres and the herding computers sustain the illusions. Plato’s cave.

Oh. Before the thought escapes me. Does anyone remember the James Blish “Cities in Flight” novellas? That could be some fun stuff. Imagine cities the size of New York Splindizzying off of the planets.

Imagine these ANCIENT cities surviving, cloaked and wary of the rest of barbarian humanity.

Stuff like that.

I turned off Twitch chat for the same reason I quit using the subreddit. It’s full of self-entitled people who’re there to loudly complain about everything when they don’t get what they want.

I’ve wanted an FW update for a long time. I got what I want. Ya’ll don’t care about my complaining, so I don’t care about yours.

That faction warfare update, what did you actually get? Nothing, you got a promise of a dedicated team for an undisclosed time at best. With these current Dev’s any changes made will probably make it a ■■■■ load worse than it already is.

I don’t care, I heard what I wanted to hear. I’ve got more faith in them than I do YOUR prognostications.

I’ll play until the servers go dark or I die whichever comes first, and at this rate my bets on the servers going dark and pretty soon if CCP keep making promises like they’re doing. “And yes, we are announcing big content updates for Fanfest. It’s the largest one probably that we’ve ever done.” - CCP Paragon! But hey you keep the faith fella xd o7

That address was the wake up call I needed. The sadness I am feeling today at the state of a bunch of space pixels is proof that I am unwell and in need of some sunshine and fresh air. I’ll be outside if anyone wants to join me (light refreshments will be available).

This would have done it. Would have turned it all around.

Actaully being able to attacj someone planetary installations but risking having your ship blown out of the sky like what happenedon that one episode of classic battlestar galactica. That would be awesome.

They could have announced the long awaited angel capitals.

And a handful of new missions and anoms would have been welcome.

Why is it we can see this but ccp can’t? K

I wouldn’t deny those announced changes, especially lore wise and career agents revamp are good aspects of the day one, since these area needs more love, for the long-term health of the game.
But it’s sure the day one is an example of bad presentations in the troublesome situation they stuck in as of now and their marketing teams are total incompetent.

Although players are too sensitive, this is what paragon’s word and CCP’s recent attitudes brought. I don’t know what they show to us in the rest of fanfest. However at least they should have presented it at the beginning of the ceremony, based on assumption they have something so-called biggest surprise.

All the CCPs recent attitudes and movement indicate their high command is deadly failing.

I am now seriously considering to liquidate the commitment to the game.

Ok CCP you win. I’m done… I’m not even mad or surprised anymore… just disappointed. My 5+ Characters will slowly run their course… New or Updated content isn’t hard… but you consistently refuse to see it. 4 Years of nothing but Nerfs and *cking the Economy… for you to take Eve in a “story driven direction” Your EA but in reverse, they at least loved something… I can’t tell you if CCP even cares about Eve at this point.

I unsubbed my accounts when it looked like basic minerals were going to be removed from HS moon. I “almost” resubbed when they kept the minerals and buffed the mining ships. But now I’m going to do the same: let them run down. I won’t biomass, because, well, one never knows…

No, they did. They went to the negatives.

I would be very surprised if they have anything more substantial to show in the roundtables. The entire Keynot had no gameplay to show, no real concepts besides some hangar fluff that will make your machines cry in roaring fan noises (and which players will most likely turn off because it just takes too long to load, which was the main reason why no one used the CQ), no demonstration of what they plan to do, no trailers/teasers or footage of what they told us would be so awesome. It was full of empty words and phrases.
CCP said they would deliver the greatest content update in the history of the game and we would see it at Fanfest. CCP has not shown anything that proves these claims true.

The Story Arcs and Allegiance can be nice and amazing, but judging by empiric evidence, CCP will not deliver what we want or expect in that regard, and what they do deliver will be such a hideous mess that even Frankenstein would avert his eyes in horror.

Just unsubbed with a heavy heart, 4 accounts all in. The Keynote was underwhelming to say the least.

Needing 4 accounts to play is a failure to begin with.

I burst out laughing, constructive advice m8, well trolled… ill need to go and cry in a corner now and think over my life decisions.

It was all “concepts” and there were lots of them. The problem wasn’t the lack of concepts it was the lack of fleshing out those concepts in a way the player base could understand.

This…… well this could and would be said about anything CCP announced. They could have blown us all away with the keynote, announced new ships, new wh combat sites, new missions…… and still we would have people complaining that it won’t be implemented they way they think it should be.
