Whoever came up with the idea to call donuts ‘doughnuts’ should be caged into a 2m² cage with not less than 2 angry porcupines as well deserved punishment…
Doughnuts is the original spelling dating back to the 18th Century, donuts is a more recent spelling which is actually less common; both are correct.
Old language is like an old building…tear it down to make space for something new…we have museums for that…
